Positione e camera (junior suite) fantastiche! Personale non troppo cordiale. Comunque consigliato
the best sunset on seychelles”
Best for their price. Own beach with tons of fish inside, you don't need to buy snorkeling tour. Hotel has all equipment (masks, flippers, free but not new), but it's better to have your own. The food is great, not expensive (comparing to other hotels), not many people on the beach. Other restaurants and bars are a liitle bit far so it's easier to eat at Sunset Beach. The room (1/2 of the beach house, 10 meters to the ocean) was not new, but clean and had everything you need to relax. Highly recommended (book the room on the beach and you'll never regret). We stood at 2 hotels on Mahe island and associate Seichelles with great sunsets at Sunset Beach)
Nice spacious chalet with nice porch to relax, quite but still very close to the beach and village. We had an issue with hot water, but this was very adequately resolved by the owner, Frank. Had a great time.
Ideal for Honeymooners.
We have been charged full penalty as we had to cancel and reschedule our trip to Seychelles following the passing away of the former President of Seychelles, Mr Albert René last week, whereby a public holiday has been declared on Thursday 07th March 2019.
The setting is sublime. This little gem is in total desperate need of a revamp and more staff to be able to offer great service. The food on the first night was fantastic and the second night absolutely terrible.
Spectacular views make up for old hotel”
This hotel was a hidden gem. The rooms were extremely spacious if a little old. The view from the balcony was to die for. The ocean was right below us and you could hear the waves crashing on the rocks. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone on a budget who wants the experience without breaking the bank.
not worth the money paid”
rooms were shabby. We were originally put in a room that smelled really bad - sewerage smell. After 2 days they did shift us to another room. Bathroom door could not be closed from outside, only from inside. fittings etc were old and shabby as was the room. Breakfast time was 730am start but was never available on time. It was more like starting at 8am instead. beautiful setting though but a lot needs to be refurbished.
Excellent Beach Holiday ”
Excellent location for a beach holiday , sea is not as calm as the south side of the island but beautiful nevertheless. We stayed in room 15 , the beach was basically at our door steps. Staff are friendly , manager (Theo ) not as friendly. Breakfast is basic , usually a case of the ‘early bird catches the worms’ .. survival of the fittest. The resort is being refurbished in Jan .. so all in all the resort should be the perfect Beach holiday when project is completed . Beware of menu prices .. 10% service charge and 15%tax not included. Food wasn’t anything to rave about, for us ,the best tasting food was along shores Beau Vallon .
We spent 3 nights in the Sunset Beach Hotel for our anniversary trip around Seychelles and we loved it. Our room on the beach was big and clean, the beach itself so pretty and very picturesque and the food in the restaurant was amazing. They plan to change this hotel into a 5* resort, starting in November and it will probably loose a bit of its charm then. Nevertheless the location is perfect!
The other comments mention it already: the hotel is a little worn out at some places, but still a lot of charm and an incredible location! The service was good, food was nice, the atmosphere freindly and relaxed.
A beautiful hideaway”
This small hotel just north of Beau Vallon is situated in one of the most beautiful spots on the island of Mahé, with a fanstastic beach in a little bay that offers the most spectacular snorkelling experience within just a few meters. The hotel provides you with free snorkelling gear and you can easily spend a week looking at all the things there are to discover underwater. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and can recommend this place to anyone who is not expecting a luxury 5 star experience, but is happy to find a relaxed, layed back atmosphere, peaceful and quiet. Is is only in the small things that the hotel needs some improvement; the cleanliness is not always spotless and the staff could be a little more attentive here and there. The cuisine in the evenings was truly excellent. The bar right on the water is lovely, but you can't see the full sunset from there; either go down to the far end of the beach, or book one of the junior suites to get the best view. The pool, the drainage system of the entire hotel, the pool table and pingpong, and all groutings in the bathrooms are in need of refurbishment. The gift shop was closed during our entire stay and the reception could not help with booking excursions. Beau Vallon can be reached by public bus within a few minutes to enjoy restaurants, shops and activities. We were very happy with our stay and would certainly book this hotel again.
A Hotel with Character”
Delightful and soothing. The great beach right next to the hotel was a great place to relax, swim and snorkel. The food and service was very good although vegetarian options were limited. But the Chef churned out vegetarian dishes very willingly on request. The experience of enjoying the Sunset and tropical nights whilst relaxing in the open bar was unforgettable. A Delughtful holiday!
Review - 21st to 25th July”
Mostly good but the room was run down with water leaks and a very squeaky fan. Location was great especially over the rocks and next to the beach. Not a lot of information about tours and no wifi in the room which made booking tours difficult
Excellent location with marvelous view from our balcony over the sea and sunset. Food very good. Evening entertainment music was excellent on our stay. Beach is very nice. The over all relaxed ambience appealed very much to us.
Hotel and rooms are on the beach. Bus stops are a few meters away. Good breakfast. The only drawback is that there are no other commercial outlets around the hotel. So for the smallest of your needs you need to travel quite a distance.
Great Location... ”
"Ocean view Villa" gave us great view of the Ocean / Sunset from the bedroom itself. But Rooms are little outdated... Need some renovations... Good Breakfast. Best beach in Mahe for "Snorkelling"
Amazing location... everything else terrible!”
Very disappointed with our stay. The whole place is very tired & in desperate need of a refurb. In our room a lot of the electric sockets didn’t work, the kettle was broken & electrics on show where the outer casing was crumbling away. The bed was two single mattresses pushed together. The bathroom was dirty, shower curtain was mouldy and towels were stained. The breakfast was bad: stale bread, stone cold baked beans & flies on the fruit. Our coffee was served after we’d eaten breakfast. We had lunch there once food was ‘ok’ and expensive, service was terrible. Staff slow & kept messing up the bill. Cocktails served in a dirty glass! Generally the staff were terrible, not aware of customers, more interested in being on their mobiles & everything took a really long time & they just seemed like they didn’t want to be there. We were accused of having dinner there & leaving without signing the bill - we never had dinner there. Overall poor hotel kept open by its great location
Disappointing hotel, nice location”
Only stayed for 1 night and overall it was disappointing. Firstly I found the welcome to be OK, quite routine on the part of the reception, however was not made to feel exceptionally welcome. At least the check in was quick and we were in our room relatively quickly. However I noticed in the "library" lots of boxes lying around as if renovations were in process and the pool area felt disregarded (also stuff lying around, dirty windows etc). We went to the room and from the outside, the room felt old and the area outside disregarded. The grass was overgrown and not appealing. The toilet was dirty and had to be flushed, not a nice start! There was no mat to clean feat when entering the room so floor was always wet when entering. The TV was not working and i had to manually tune it, which i finally succeeded in doing. The walls were VERY THIN and i found it difficult to sleep. The shower head was not working and could only use the overhead shower etc. Overall very disappointing, AVOID.
