Great location just beside Shangri-la with perfect view of opera house and harbour bridge. Impressive kitchen and rooms are clean. Joined a tour to bondi beach walk which is free and interactive and cool. I am most grateful for the professional handling of urgent matters by the staff. I did have an unpleasant incident in the hostel which started off with a crazy old lady singing in the middle of the night and the staff transferred me to a shared room. But the guy sleeping below me bed was violent and he snatched my bag and hit me. So in one night I met some crazy and violent fellows. In fact I was so scared I could only message through agaoda and the staff replied almost instantly. But fortunately the staff responded fast to both situations professionally and helping me through. I am glad to be given a private to stay in the end too. So it is reassuring to know that you can rely on the staff for help when needed. But do be watchful for females who stay in shared dorms as it is really vulnerable for women staying in mixed dorm with violent guys.

Comfortable stay throughout. Enjoyed my trip much thanks to being in the heart of Vivid Sydney. Very well located within the Rocks. Love the rooftop for lazy nights no need to go out to watch the lights. I wish they can do late checkout but since they can't, it wasn't too bad waiting for my airport transfer in the common area.

This hostel is located in a perfect spot in the city- close to many sites and public transportation stops. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hostel events help to create community and explore the city. Highly recommend YHA in the Rocks!

Love This Place”
I have stayed here several times and love this place. Fabulous location, great views, friendly staff, handy kitchen and lounge area. So close to the harbour, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, Bridge Climb & The Rocks. The 180 degree view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. Recommend the premium double rooms with private bathroom, tv and view over the city & harbour. Highly recommend Sydney Harbour YHA!

Was able to get lower level of bunk bed and ground level room altho not guaranteed on request. Very thankful for that because I have lower back problems. I like having the toilet inside the room. The hostel is well maintained and clean.

Best Value, Best location The staff are very friendly. I saw the sunrise on the rooftop with the Opera House and harbour bridge view as the same view as you woke up in the nearby 5-star hotel room.

I stayed in a 4-female-room and the room was big. I loved the neighborhood since it was very in lively mood in the evening and you could walk to the Rocks market. The only downside is that you should take a walk up the hill unless you take a taxi. If you carry out over 20-inch-luggage, you will curse yourself for 8 minutes to get there. However I really liked the space a lot. Strongly recommended.

Sydney Harbor YHA is so close to all the main tourist attractions. You can easily walk to the bridge or Sydney Opera House from this location. Its a great spot if you want to be near everything.

It is quite far from bus / train station but it was nice place.. It have many facilities (lounge, kitchen). they have bathroom in each room (i stayed at 4 bed in 1 room). They have friendly staff who can help you too for any assistant (free walking tour). Recommended for solo and budget traveller.

While cleanliness (some mlld issues in the bathroom) could be improved when they aren't short staffed, you couldn't ask for a better location. The views from the roof deck are great! The Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Great at any time of day or night. Fun too to chat with others and get tourist tips. Gtreat rates available directly from YHA

This hostel located in great location, you could see sydney opera house from their rooftop The room is not as clean as their common room They have many activities offered at the reception But everything here is not free, from the private wifi, luggage room, breakfast Even the free pancake day every wednesday means you have to fry your own pancake, they just provide the batter

the view was great every single day i stayed, it should be worth it just with that great view. everything was pretty good aside from 1 of my roommates who would come in drunk at 1 am and just wouldnt keep quiet or think of others staying in.
