Sleepless night”
When the Grab driver turn to a small and rough lane, I was taken a back and felt better after seeing the well maintain signage but disappointed because the lobby Wooden structure and panels was not properly maintained, projecting a rustic look. Check - In was at 1400hrs and was accompanied by Mr Hien whom is very courteous, the room was tastefully decorated and clean facing the Seaview (that’s mean it will be hot during the day). Upon inspecting the room (which I normally do upon check-In), we noticed the Bathtub spray knob and easily come off and the toilet exhaust fan is not functioning thus it will be warm when you take a shower. We informed Mr Hien of the issues and he wanted to call his technician which I told him it is not necessary because I will be staying for 2 nights only and do not like the idea of changing room and the Toilet accessories was well provided. Buffet Breakfast was at a Rustic restaurant facing the sea (for your info Butter is not provided only jam) and the restaurant is closed for lunch and dinner so we cross the road and into a lane to dine at Tuna Restaurant which is reasonably in price, good quality food, well-presented and warm service. We packed the unfinished food and left it on the counter above the fridge in our room and was disappointed at later stage to see Ants crawling all over the food. The WORST Experience is having to tolerate at least 4 knocking per minute come from the Air Condition unit throughout the day and night. The only good experience is we are staying near several Minimart, Restaurant and Tour agency.

We stayed for 3 nights, were hoping for airport shuttle service, but the times it is available are very limited which is not mentioned in the Agoda info. Anyway, we got a taxi for 100k each way, so not so bad really. Quite a few restaurants and bars nearby within walking distance. There are 3 swimming pools which nobody used, probably because the water looked dirty. The room we had had only 2 electrical sockets, which meant we had to juggle between charging phones, using a computer and boiling water. The shower set up was weird in the evenings was weird as we could n''t get enough cold water to make the water cool enough for my partner to use. Breakfast buffet is more than ample and the setting for breakfast looks over the sea. the beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were very spacious with quite large balcony areas, though there was no balcony light switch to open the balcony light. All in all, I would stay again, as it was value for money, but I would also look for an alternative place next time, before staying there again.
Pleasantly surprised ”
I spend three nights at the Palmy in May and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel compared to my expectations. It has primarily a Vietnamese clientele and therefore does not really cater to foreigners. However I still loved the location right on the beach. The room (while a little warn and in need of a good coat of paint) was still very comfortable with a nice comfortable bed, huge shower, and a massive balcony overlooking the sea. For the price I paid it was definitely worth it and I would certainly stay here again. I certainly preferred it to some other more highly reviewed properties nearby.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the swimming pools well maintained but the restaurants and bars were closed and no easy access to he beach. I doubt if there were more than 20 rooms occupied and it's a big hotel. The buildings close by were either abandoned or construction sites where all work has stopped. It's a real shame and I suspect most hotels are struggling to keep open with the lack of tourists. We visited in April just outside of peek season. In general Phu Quoc needs to clean up its act if it wants to become a holiday destination to compete with Phuket. There is rubbish everywhere and so much plastic i the water when you walk beyond the beaches maintained by the hotels

We stayed Palmy Pho Quoc for 3 nights. The room was very clean and nice big enough for couples. And the view was amazing also balcony is really great relaxing area. The air conditioner and other facilities were working perfectly and properly. Staffs were super kind and helpful to ensure our comfort.
