1yrs ago, Breakfast was good, this time BF is the worst, top up was slow, buffet warmer was not hot. The reception lady (w/o uniform)at the cafe was eating at reception counter. Hope the mgmt look into this issue.

Good place , Nice security , Valuable to pay ”

- Located in Georgetown that is centre and nearly Komtar building. Easy to transportation for traveller. - Valuable price - breakfast OK - Check in 3 p.m. - foreigner more paid tax 12 RM /room/night - I didn’t acquainted Indian accent. I tried to communicated with receptionist. She spoke fast and not clear accent. - First , my room had a big problem about air condition was fixed. After check-in , I took a shower and went outside. When we came back , the big issue was solved already.

Right near to love lane ”

Near enough to the nightlife but just far enough away not to hear it, old fashioned but a lot better than all the new hotels popping up at least you get to see real people lots of eating places nearby will stay here again :-)

Overall the hotel is ok, room is clean and comfy. Normal breakfast buffet and swimming pool need to maintain as the water not clean. Better improve their wifi speed or else just tell your guest wifi not available!

Clean room, good and friendly staff.”

I have booked a family room. The centralized air cond is not adequate enough to cool the whole room. The staff assist us to change to another family room. This family room comes with split air cond which we are satisfied. The hotel should look into the previous family room, as the centralized air cond will never able to lower down the temperature for whole room. Furthermore, one of 2 lift is under maintenance, which left the whole 8 floors to depend on one lift. Overall, the stay is good.

All the staff were really friendly and helpfull. Good location. The rooms definitely need a refresh and repaint. It was a bit tatty but lots of room and an excellent hot shower & comfy bed. BUT our sink and surfaces were not cleaned when we arrived. There was toothpaste in the sink and it wasn't cleaned the whole week. Breakfast was a bit weird. Very hit and miss. I'm not sure anyone in the world eats chips for breakfast unless you're hungover haha

Was quite amazed with how the staff helped us. Also the hotel and the room are very clean. Overall we satisfied staying at this hotel. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Penang. Very recommended.

Travelodge hotel has a nice design overall. It's a nice hotel. Check in/out is fast. Good location, near many street food and minimarket. I will just note down on the cleanliness of the stair's floor, lift and pool area coz they don't seem to be cleaned. Looked very sticky. We also smell smoke from cigarettes in the hall and room sometimes. Please note that we stayed in a non smoking room and floor with a child.

I had a comfortable stay though I had issues with the parking. The parking spaces were limited and the basement parking wasn't convenient to park. The breakfast could've done without it. Poor selection of breakfast items.

Average budget hotel”

With the price I paid for double deluxe room for 2 nights, I never thought that I have to go down to Ground Level to do my ironing. I have to iron my whole family's clothes for a wedding ceremony. Luckily there was no one using the iron and no one was waiting in line after me. There was no proper facilities to hang the clothes after ironing. And I have quite a difficult time taking all the ironed clothes back to my room in one trip. My point is, please provide iron & iron boards to the room by request. You don't know how much clothes that the customers needs to bring up the lift. I'm sure not everyone requests for ironing service but locating it at G level is not much help.

Bad cleaning procedure. Short of staff during our stay and no cleaning room service.”

Poor cleaning service. Parquett Floor not wiped /mop which already alerted. No new clean blanket stock available, therefore using the last night one. Staff not responsible even already complained, and this case been brought to the manager level. Evidence available to support. Already put in our blacklisted spot.

New name but still the same old hotel. ”

Dissapointed to find that the hotel is still very outdated even Travelodge took over the management. Everything is the same except the hotel name. Breakfast was pathetic for a 3 star hotel. Hotel really needs an upgrading to live up to its name. Location is good if you are on a eating spree in Penang. However front office staff is cheerful, friendly and helpful. I left my mobile charger plug in the room after check out. And with 2 calls to the hotel, the staff found my item.

Average hotel, not recommend, will not come back...”

Dec 2018 travelled to Penang with my family, group of 10pax, booked 1 Family Superior room (4pax/room), 1 Family Deluxe room (4pax/room) & 1 Superior Double room (2pax/room), that time they still under the name of "Glow Penang Hotel". Room Size: Family Deluxe room is big but at top level aircon was not cold enough and Family Superior room abit small for 4pax, Superior Double room is not big as what picture shown. Toilets: All toilets didn't comes with complete shower screen. Meaning to say, no doors. Resulted after bath, toilet was wet and quite dangerous for elderly and kid. Housekeeping: Felt that the room was dusty, lack of maintenance, not properly cleaned up. Facilities: The lift is small and access card can only access to the floor you stayed, already requested to arrange all rooms at the same floor, but one of the room (Family Deluxe) not even ready when check-in about 5pm+ and need to wait for 40mins+ to get the room, hence, my sister decided to get the room at the highest floor since is already ready but this caused us having some problems as our access card cannot access to her room level. As for swimming pool, heard fromy sister that the pool alot of algae, not clean, so she skipped to swim at the pool. Breakfast: Breakfast was just normal & simple not that great, lack of choices, won't suggest to opt in for hotel breakfast, around the hotel got alot of eateries to explore and try. Breakfast wasn't replenish fast in time. Location: Abit of walking distance like 10-15mins to KOMTAR, but with elderly around it's impossible to use walking to KOMTAR. Easy to get Grab around. The plus point was nearby alot of local products shop, about 5-15mins walking distance. Overall Services: Do not allow early check-in, room not ready even after official check-in time, staffs checking in was slow and we don't feel welcoming from them. Conclusion: I will not recommend this hotel and will not come back for my next visit to Penang.

Bad experience”

they control the aircond temperature in the hotel room, centralised i think. they even switch off the aircond in the dining area and no fan at all. it was so hot that we (and our 7 months baby) was sweating profusely whick makes it really uncomfortable to eat. only 1 lift is working and the lift can occupy max of 4 adults at one time. difficult to park, since the parking meant for guest was occupied by staff. never staying in this hotel again.

Bad hotel ever”

This is my first time stay hotel with no water for shower at night time from 11pm till morning, I stay 3 nights, 3 nights no water, no water heater, and no bath towel, and they staff only said sorry sorry sorry, I wrote to hotel management and no reply me at all, this is not a good hotel group for stay

I booked this hotel because Agoda promotion. And we are very disappointed with their facilities and rude staff. Pro : 1. Location 2. Helpful manager and maintenance boy. Cons: 1. Rude kitchen staff , very poor and unhealthy breakfast. 2. Lazy and arrogant receptionist. It's take 26 minute to check in after she take my passport. This Indian girl not qualified to welcoming guest, she brings very bad perception to the hotel. And this is my last stay at Travelodge..I feel cheated. 3. No a/c at lobby and room very hot.

very good location”

Walking distance to all famous food in penang. Room is spacious and clean. Checking in staff is slow probably due to shortage of manpower. Bath towers and floor mat delivered late in the evening. Pool is small. Gym is small and treadmill is faulty. Highly recommended hotel to stay if you are in penang.
