Great cabin in the middle of wilderness ”
The food was nice. The staff was Super friendly. The cabin is clean. We booked the aurora cabin so it came with complimentary champagne. However, we didn’t see the northern lights. And worse, some of the cabins next door always leave their lights on. And there are lights along the pathways that should not be switched on. Makes it hard to get decent photos.

1st time to Finland ”
We stayed in a lodge with a sauna what was lovely, but no instructions on how to use sauna. There was quite a bit of dust where not been cleaned properly on the bedside lamps ect, definitely could do with a small fridge as no way of keeping drinks or chocolate cool in room. No privacy at all because if have curtains open people walking past can see straight into the room so found having to keep curtains shut all the time. There are no shops or restaurants nearby so lucky i had a car to drive 15mins to neatest town, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Eskelinen bus from Ivalo Airport to the hotel was a nice ride. Upon arrival at the hotel, the manager arranged for us to have breakfast immediately, told us briefing and other arrangement to be done after healing our stomach. That’s a very good gesture of hotel to all the guests upon their arrival. We stayed at the aurora cabin and unfortunately no sight of northern light but was a good experience with stars above us. But I would recommend the other cabin as it would be probably more spacious. The hotel staffs are all very kind and helpful, from the front desk to the Instructors on activities. My boy did a 1-1 snowshoeing hiking as at that pint of time no others signing up. Instructor was patience and kind to him throughout and he had great fun with him. Hotel is all the way in the forest, so suggest to sign up the activities prior to fit into your schedule. Suggest to check the bus timing out from hotel, so that you do not need to pay more for the transport out.
