Itaewon hotels & places to stay

This was my third stay and everything was excellent. Professional staff. Competent and helpful at all times. Rooms are a bit small, but comfortable and so are the beds. I liked that they have a free internet option (not usual for a 5-star hotel), which is sufficient to download emails. The breakfast and lunch buffets are great and I love the view over the river sipping on my coffee in the morning. The spa is one of the best hotel spas I have seen so far. Good-sized gym (although I didn't use it). One indoor and one outdoor pool and a great sauna and hot spring area. The hotels close proximity to Itaewon is also a plus as you can enjoy a large number of restaurant and bars almost around the corner.

I have been to Seoul more than 30 times and usually book this place because of its location. It is right in front of Itaewon station, very convenient in city center, good access from airport and easy to move around. The room is clean and has free and fast Wifi. They used to have Korean Sauna at B1F but now the size is smaller, I still enjoy it though. Their staff is there 24/7 and helpful, they speak English and Japanese too. Money exchange is also available at the reception. One comment I should make is the noise from the neighbors, since Itaewon is a "night town" in Seoul, there are many people at clubs, pubs, etc. around this hotel and it could be loud (even in the hotel room) especially Friday and Saturday night. Single travelers or young couple should be fine but it might be not suitable for the family with young children. Also in summer they have small swimming pool at 5F and many, many people from outside of the hotel visit, so the elevator could be crowded sometimes.

This was my second stay at IP Boutique hotel. If you're looking for a hotel in Itaewon, then this is a great choice. To be honest, there are not many hotels in Itaewon to choose from. IP hotel is clean and artsy, with lots of eclectic artwork on display. The staff was friendly and spoke English well enough. The hotel is also a few blocks away from the heart of Itaewon, so the crowd noise at night is not too bad. The only complaint is that the hallways are too dark! Everyone complains about this, so I do not know why the management haven't installed better lighting. It's so dark that I had to use my cellphone light to see where the door lock was for the key. Management, PLEASE ADD MORE LIGHTS TO THE HALLWAY! (I have a feeling that this used to be a love motel). Oh also the bathroom is see-thru glass, so if you're staying with people, they can see into the bathroom.

A great funky hostel in a refurbished apartment block. First impression is a stunner, as you approach from the black lane off the Main Street. Great rooftop terrace with views over Itaewon. Maybe a 4 minute walk from the exit of the subway and right in the heart of Itaewon. The owner/manger is really friendly and funny and took great care of me. The free morning breakfast is great, eggs are amazing (must be free range). The rooms are no fuss, finished simply, great comfy mattresses( no foam crap) with fluffy white blankets (all white sheets), plywood on the window wall and concrete walls. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, no fuss, functional. Lockers are a plus. There was a free laundry service on the top floor which was great. In summary this hostel combines design, service, and function which is rare to find i found in Korea. I defiantly recommend staying here!

Staff is very aware how to treat their guests. I am the type of hotel guest that does not need to mingle, ask and be nursed by hotel staff. They picked that up right away which was comforting. Out of more than 50 hotels I've stayed at the bed (which is what you actually buy when staying at a hotel), was probably the best. The shower head was slighty to low, but hey - I'm a tall guy for Korean standards. If you're into the itaewon nightlife/going out scene, only a few hostels have a better location. All in all - I'd book it again. It might be 2 stars but that's only because the lack of pool, bar, restaurant, 24hr reception and size. Seriously, those things are only needed if you're a needy person or used to the ritz carlton or a big luxury wannabee. And if so, you wouldn't stay in itaewon anyways.

I was just looking for a place near Itaewon station to stay for one night. The location was good and the price was practical. My expectations were low when I first booked the room (Forgot the name, it was the one where there is a king?queen size bed in the middle of the picture) However the room was super clean, and the air conditioner worked perfectly (seemed like the keeper was taking good care of the facility). The only cons.... It's located nearby the street so it might be a bit noisy till 2-3am (Not that loud but ppl who are sensitive might be anoyed) I didn't have breakfast in the hostel but there's a pho place near itaewon station and the soup is great!

I had a wonderful experience staying at Philstay Itaewon. Checking in was a breeze. Room was clean and the amenities was good. Staff was very friendly and really made you feel welcome and at home. They have a nice and cosy dining area for dinner and breakfast. You can also do some simple laundry using their mini washer. The best part is when i left my ipod under the bed during checkout.I was already in the transiting country when i realised my ipod was missing. Philstay Itaewon emailed me regarding the ipod and offered to send it back to me at no charge at all. Awesome and fantastic customer service. I will be sure to return back to Philstay Itaewon when i visit Korea again. Thank you so much Philstay Itaewon :)

We arrived past midnight and a staff was there to welcome us even though it was very late. There's no elevator btw. (idk why agoda says it does- the only con) Just ask the staff to help you carry your bags. The female dorm has enough space even for big luggages, big warm bunk beds, and storage for valuables. The toilet is well maintained and cleaned twice(?) a day. Lobby/pantry is very cute, where breakfast is available. Breakfast consist of cereals, eggs, & bread. Coffee & juice are available. You just have to clean up after yourself. The Itaewon hostel has a really good location. Around 5 mins walk to the train station (take exit 2 elevator if you have heavy luggage). The main street is lined with various restaurants, cafes, & restaurants, and is full of life even after midnight. Overall, had a really comfortable stay. Staff was really helpful and accommodating.

Banana Backpackers Guesthouse is located close by Seoul Station. If you are coming from Incheon Intl' Airport, the AREX is really close by. Most sightseeing spots such as Namsam Tower, Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, Itaewon are a few subway stations away. The check-in process is super quick, the staff are ready to help and the amenities are available if you did not bring your own. The room is equipped with TV and aircon, however, the aircon remote was broken, so I had to press the button on the aircon unit itself. The bed was comfy, but I found a few strands of long hair on the white sheets, I can shrug it off but it could be unsettling for some. However, for the location and the comfort of a private room in Seoul, the price is quite worthwhile. The common terrace has a great view of the NSeoul Tower. Finding food is not a problem, you have Thai, Korean, Chinese cuisine around the corner. Getting a cab is pretty easy too.

Location is in the heart of Itaewon surrounded by countless restaurants,bars,coffee shops, cafe, shops etc. Almost everything you need is just around. The house is ewsy to find. Convenience is superb. Hosts are great, friendly, and welcoming. The inconvenient part: Room is bit tight though. Lower deck bed is better but upper deck bed isn't easy to access. Everyone sits on their own bed as chairs and table arent available inside the sleeping isnt available. There are about 35 stairs (if I remember the exact count right) going up so if you're carrying big luggages better to prepare for a second run. In total, its very economical. I salute the Korean lady host and her assistant guy. Cheers

I love staying at the Itaewon Land Spa and Guestroom whenever we visit Seoul. Very cheap and the room isn't much to look at, but having a full spa for no additional price is an incredible benefit. For $25 (ish) you have a 24hr restaurant and spa at your disposal. Being in Itaewon, you're sure to bump into a bunch of characters, but the sauna, hot tubs, showers, and various other spa facilities make a staying worth every penny. The one drawback is the thinness of walls in the rooms themselves, but for 25, who can really complain. Multiple bathroom options, including the 4th floor (despite what many reviewers say) and a foreign language speaking staff.

The location of the place is very good since it is very near the subway station, and just walking distance to Itaewon. Our room is clean and comfortable and since the place is so quiet, it is a very nice place to rest after a very hectic and tiring day of fun and activity. There are a couple of restaurants and groceries nearby so you can buy something to eat anytime you get hungry. One disadvantage though is that there is no free drinking water, so we have to buy on our own, and water there is quiet costly. Overall, we have a wonderful stay and we get the value for our money, highly recommended place to stay...:)

Nice place in a good location. It's a bit far to walk to Itaewon station but there are very regular buses that you can take from right near there. Only takes about 10 minutes by bus from here to Itaewon station, just take the number 400 or 405. Kind owner, spoke a little bit of English but would help if you can speak some Korean (easier to communicate with the staff). Overall I would recommend the place.

This place is great! The owner, Geofrey, is super friendly and kind. The house is surrounded by a Mosque, a lot of halal restaurants (Korean, Turkish, India, Malaysia) as well as Itaewon subway station. All are within 5 minutes walk. This house is slightly on the hill, so you get a very nice view around Itaewon. If you want a better view, you must go to the nearby Mosque, which is the highest point in Itaewon. There are a lot of shopping area too, you can find branded shoes and clothes, watches, sunglasses, convenience shop, but mainly you can find restaurant and coffee shop in this area. If you need to go somewhere else, the Itaewon station is just 5 minutes walk from the house. Anyway, I highly recommend this house for groups and young people accommodation. It is very affordable. You can spend your days and nights shopping, and every other time you can watch movies in the house while asking for a recommendation from Geofrey. Overall, I am highly satisfied with this service. I shall stay here again if I am coming to Seoul again.

This is a great Guesthouse!! For the price, it is an amazing deal. The location is super convenient, right by Itaewon Station and all the restaurants and bars. It's also very big, with a separate living room, bathroom, and kitchen space like a real apartment. The owner was extremely nice and let us set our own check in and check out times. The only real downside was the WiFi, which basically has no signal. It's no problem if you have a data plan in Korea, but not all travelers do. The cleanliness rating may look bad to travelers unfamiliar with Korea, but it is what I would consider 4 stars in Korea, less if you are using a U.S. scale :)

Perfect place for backpackers! Nestled right in the heart of itaewon.. 3-5min walk to itaewon station. Good breakfast provided. (Cereal, toast, egg, coffee, tea, milk). Cooked rice is available 24hrs. Directions to guesthouse: Stop at ITAEWON station. Take exit no.4 Once out of exit, turn left n then right. You will see IBK bank on your right side. Turn right again after IBK bank n walk down about 150m Look out for restaurant HIDDEN ADDRESS/ISTANBUL on your left side. Turn left after the restaurant and walk till you see FISHERMAN restaurant. Turn left again n you will arrive at KAME GUESTHOUSE.

This guesthouse is in a perfect location, just a few meters off the main road in Itaewon. It's in an alley, which makes it quiet, but difficult to find the first time. It is not luxurious, but it has a low price, and the boss lady was went out of her way to be nice and helpful. I was very happy staying here for five days, and I think you will be happy, too. The wi-fi connection is fast and reliable, and the shower is hot.

Having been staying in most of the guesthouses in Itaewon, I would say this is probably the best! If you are looking for a budget stay, then this is definitely the one! It has all the basic things you need. And the room is at least more spacious than those you can find in Itaewon (FYI, I stayed in this double bedroom). They also have very simple breakfast (bread with jam and coffee/tea). I will definitely come back here!

My stay in Cube Guesthouse is one of a kind. The owner of the guesthouse is really kind. He is very mindful and will always ask if what you need. You get for what you paid for. Room was small but clean. Wifi is very strong. Guesthouse has kitchen and you can wash your clothes. Location wise because its very near in Itaewon Station. Will definitely book again when I come back to Seoul.

Fit the bill for "crashing" in Itaewon for one night after event with friends. I got a solo room, which was clean and comfy. The usual issues as any "guesthouse" in Seoul, only 1 restroom for ALL guests (good luck with shower/bathroom "timing"; though, not busy until after 9:30am); but the restroom was cleaner than other guesthouses "crashed" in for a night. The owner/manager was very nice and available for any questions/issues. The location walking distance to Itaewon Station and plenty restaurants/bars/shops/coffee. I'd recommend/use for a night/recouping.

it'll be short. i was surprised of how clean was everything, the customer services, owner speaks really good english, he will assist you or give you travel tips and was really professional . there are different rooms options, and the bathroom is korean style, toilet and shower all together. for that price i would have never expected such a good service. subway is 2 minutes by walking and location, the beginning of itaewon and also bus connections with gangnam takes about 10/15 minutes. breakfast is also included. i'll be back there 100%. thank you very much!

I really loved our experience here. I was a little apprehensive about the guesthouse experience with my daughter and husband, but to my surprise it was fantastic. The girl that runs the place was so welcoming and talked me through how to get there on the phone when I couldnt find it. Once inside, we had our own room and the place was super cute. The korean style house had a lovely front wooden deck for enjoying a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and a social room for the travelers to converse. This was great because everyone wants to go out and enjoy Itaewon. So, one night my husband went out and enjoyed the bar scene and my daughter and I hung out and watched TV with a solo traveler from Daejeon. The next night I went out and my husband and daughter played on the front deck with a few guys from Canada. We had a great experience here. The guesthouse provided breakfast, a room, social opportunities and a great location. We would happily stay there again!

Even though guesthouse runs by few handsome young man but it remains tidy and clean ;p Best thing in SP must be the kind and attentive staff!They are no ordinary guesthouse staff, they are knowledgeable world traveller, so talk to them, they are respectful young man :) Special thanks to helpful and very humour Igor! ^^ Room wise, I had a private single room during Winter, 24hrs floor heating (cosy room), superb wifi, shared shower room and toilet kept tidy & clean all the time, 24hrs hot shower is an ease for Winter! Great location! 5minutes walk to Line 6 Itaewon subway, trendy bars (no worry the bar nosiness, the room remain sound proof, I had quiet sleep thru out my stay), 5mins walk to Airport shuttle bus (ask staff for the shortcut without staircase for wheeling ur heavy suitcase). In love with this guesthouse and will be back for next Winter Skiing trip!!! ^^

I had to write exams at one of the embassies in Seoul, and this guesthouse was a 3 minute walk from my examination centre. I was lucky enough to have it to myself most of the time. It would be ideal for friends travelling together. There are 4 bedrooms which have to share a bathroom and 1 bedroom that has its own bathroom. The kitchen doesn't have much equipment, but most people eat out anyway. For a guesthouse in the heart of the city, it is one of the best I have ever stayed at.
