Will come back in this hotel ”
The localisation of the hostel is perfect : located in a Hutong in a street with others hostels, small local restaurants very affordable and night shop. It’s just near Qianmen Street with many places to eat and buy present and you can easily took the Subway in Qianmen or Zhushikou. It’s 15 mins walk from the entrance of the forbidden city. The hostel also organise tour I join the Great Wall tour for 280¥ it’s was really good ! There is a bar/restaurant in the hotel very cosy and the food is good. Ho yes the wifi in the restaurant is also super good ;)
Love the location”
The location is great as it's close to food, shopping, attractions & the subway station (Qianmen, Line 2) that gets you to the interchange station for the Airport Express. The staff are also great as they'd emailed me directions & info of how to get from the airport to the hostel. There is a bar/cafe downstairs for the times when you don't feel like going out for a meal/drink. This is my 2nd time staying here, the first was in summer & my 2nd stay was recently, in winter. While it's totally fine during warmer months, just be forewarned that not the entire place is heated. So, if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, just make sure to have your jacket handy.
It's in a decent location but very noisy from our room, it was facing the street. It was clean and priced quite far for a Hostel, we had the private bathroom so paid a bit more. I had no issues what so ever. Would go again for sure.
Great hostel in a pretty decent location. About a 10 min walk from the metro and 25? mins to Tiananmen/Forbidden City. Comfy beds, room was a bit small but was happy with the stay! Great location for morning baozi!
after rezervation they are sending you all the helpful information how to reach them. although you need to walk a little bit from subway still small trouble comparing the perfect location and good service
Based in my rating in each category, I shall elaborate further. Value for Money (4/5) Reasonably priced. Location (5/5) 1. Really pleasant - I like! 2. Easy to get to from/to the airport. 3. Close to a few subway stations 4. Close to a few attractions, e.g. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, etc. 5. Surrounded by food places & convenience stores. Cleanliness (4/5) Overall pretty good. Staff (4/5) A few were a bit grumpy, but there are more nice, helpful ones! Emailed them beforehand & they gave me detailed instructions on how to get there from the airport. Facilities (3/5) 1. There is a cafe/bar, pricing is reasonable. 2. Apart from the cafe/bar, there are no other common areas. 3. Wi-Fi not terribly good. 4. There's a hot/cold water dispenser in the staff area, they'll allow you to refi. 5. No utensils/crockery available for use - had to borrow from the cafe. 6. Towels available for rent but deposit is hefty! Note: Bring your own padlock for your locker.
A 10 min walk from the metro, this is a solid hostel. It's located in the shopping area so often crowded with people. Rooms and bathrooms are pretty clean. Wifi is decent. Features a tourist bar/restaurant - be prepared for locals to gawk. Laundry available. Staff helpful. I was there during National Holiday so think I paid more for room that normal rates but prices still reasonable.
Central location, friendly staff”
Central location to many good and cheap local food + tourist attractions, helpful and friendly staff to arrange tours, nice and clean facilities. However, on two separate occasions, we witnessed a seemingly drunken man in front of the hostel entrance. On the second incident, it was a prolonged verbal exchange between the same man and several other men which the police came and asked him to leave, so did the hostel employees. Beer bottles were broken in both incidents near the pharmacy opposite the hostel. No one was hurt, but do watch out for this man.
Very good value for money”
Staff is friendly and can speak good English. Room and bathroom are clean. Bus stop, metro and some main attractions are not too far away.
Pro: Good location, clean rooms, daily fresh towels, cool bar, luggage storage, english speaking reception, they book tours for you, hot water with good waterpressure in the shower. Con: really strong sewage smell in bathroom, thin walls with sometimes noisy guests, the cleaning staff never smiled and looked grumpy always, our room windowed to an airshaft with no real light. Transport with an normal taxi to the airport was 190 fixprice, meaning they charge about 70 only for calling. Alltogether an OK experience. Maybe I come back.
Good location, nice dorms, terrible facilities”
Omg there is no living room in this hostel, the "social area" at this hostel belongs the the bar downstairs. The "chill out zone" features wierd lighting, loud music, and people who just come in off the strip to enjoy the restaurant, which of course makes socializing with fellow travelers hard. Room only had 2 plugs for 4 beds btw.
The location is worth the rest ”
The location of the hostel is perfect. You can go easy by bus and subway to the hostel. The staff speaks good English and they have a very helpful map. The room is easy. The beds are okay, the mattresses where used and I had to find a position where they are still soft. Unfortunately the bathroom in the first floor is also the bathroom for the restaurant and bar, which was crowded until 2 am. So it was sometimes hard to sleep and the bathroom looked used. But they cleaned several times a day. Maybe there are better hostels but if you stay for a short time in Beijing it’s perfect to explore the city from this one.
Very very rude staff”
After reading some reviews about this place, I noticed that many comments about the lack of security and amenities tended to be true. Other reviews I read were about how rude the staff was, which I found to be unbelievably true. One staff forgot to write a receipt for my deposit. When I asked if he could double check with another staff member, decided to swear at me instead. The staff also gave me directions to the wrong airport after reading my flight information causing me to miss my flight and need to purchase another one. I was not a fan of my stay at this hostel. If you can opt to stay at Leo hostel down the street, I’d recommend that place instead.
Overall a good stay”
Pros: 15 min walk from Qianmen station on line 2, connects very important places in central part of Beijing. The other subway (zhushikou) on their site is on line 7 that is not much used and not so well connected. good and reasonably priced shopping, eating areas on the same street reasonably clean (I stayed in a double bedded room), toilet was clean too, though slight sewer smell in the mornings Luggage storage after check out- they consented to my leaving my baggage in their store room after check out 2 min walk from Leo hostel - in case you wish to join their Mutianyu tours (I joined Mubus tours) Cons: staff- not the most friendly, sometimes bordering on the rude. For first timers in Beijing this can be a bit worrisome. Although by day 2 I realised you dont need their help much.. with a bit of prior planning and with the good subway / bus infrastructure Beijing is manageable Room on the 2nd / 3rd floors with no lifts, I got some help upon specifically requesting though
Nice play to stay at!”
Clean and very decent for a hostel. Has a very good location!
Very good location, you can ride the subway Qianmen Station and judt walk to the hotel. The bathroom smells a little though
I love this hotel very much, specially it has very nice bar
