Excellent Location, Great Service ”
This hotel has the best location for looking around Edinburgh. The view of the castle is marvelous not only from the Room but from the Restaurant at the Top Floor. The Reception Officials are of great help to understand how to go around the area and also to tap various tours. I highly recommend this Hotel for families with Young children and for solo travelers. I would love to come back to this Property always. Thanks & Best Wishes to Team Apex Grassmarket Hotel
Very uncomfortable beds and no aircon. For the price I don't think it was worth it.
Perfect location Friendly staff and Beautiful view”
Our room is facing directly the Edinburg castle and needless to say is beautiful and we can watch fireworks over the castle from our room! With child of age 13 we have booked a room with extra bed and setup service was quick and immediate upon our check in. (We waited hours for other hotels). Staffs are very friendly and efficient. Very good attention to our requests. Location is perfect very convenient to the castle just opposite and main shopping and dinning area. Will definitely come again next time !
Not luxury but completely functional ”
Tiny but usable gym, pool, sauna... Clean and well set up room, slightly basic but functional and clean bathroom, amazing location. And lovely staff who let me check in many hours early for no premium at all...
Perfect Hotel with Amazing Views”
Modern hotel. Well equipped room with comfortable beds. Get a room facing the castle! We stayed in the Family Room and it was well worth it. Service was good too, beware though there's stairs in the lobby and no ramp for your luggage. If the bellboy is not available then prepare to drag your luggage up the stairs to get to check in counter and then the elevators. breakfast I heard is not so good so I am glad we skipped that. lots of bars across the street which can be lively in the evening. If your windows are open you will hear them clearly. If you shut the window you'll be okay.
great little hotel”
Didn't know what to expect at first, just chose the hotel based on all the reviews. was quite happy to find that the reviews got it right. the hotel is perfectly situated. the rooms are well-equipped and comfortable. We booked a family room with castle views. Don't worry, the street noise cannot be heard if the windows are closed. When you open them, it is a different story, the street is very lively, especially on the weekends and evenings where the pub goers are jolly and loud. Not an issue for us at all. I recommend Room 2005.
i ve booked the hotel few month prior to my visit....once i got there the staff upgraded my room to castle view which is very nice....the room was huge very neat and super clean...love everything about this hotel....will be staying here for my next visit in edinburgh
Comfortable stay with great accessibility ”
Comfortable stay and accessibility to place of interest as great. Edinburgh castle was acrosss the street and free wi-fi access in the room was a plus point. We need to pad extra 12 pound for the carpark facilities. Maybe the Hotel management should waive off the car park charges for hotel guest in future. Overall the hotel stay was great
Mobility issues ”
This is a lovely hotel in a perfect location but not wheelchair friendly. There is no sloped entrance to the hotel and There is no disabled toilet. The shower in the room is over the bath there is no hand grip rail to help you in and out the bath is very high and the glass side door ,does not move we found this difficult even though we are able bodied there is also no heating in the bathroom, but the beds everything else was really nice
Nice location, walk to the Castle will be less than 10 mins, and to the train station only need 10 mins as well. The restaurants that around this hotel is quite nice.
totally it is great, the traffic is convenient and the hotel is around some great restaurants.
We were given a room that looked up to the castle. It was more than perfect as we were able to lie in our beds and watch the fireworks from the castle esplanade. The location is in a busy street in the Grassmarket so it was noisy with traffic and the booths set up down below but the view more than made up for it. It’s a great clean facility and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Huge rooms and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in including my own. Very clean and well appointed. Staff excellent. It's a little expensive to stay very often so unfortunately back to the travelodge until the next special occasion. Food was great but no gluten and dairy free dessert. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.
We drove from the airport in the morning it was easy to find, the staff were very friendly and informative, the location of the hotel could not be any better and the views from our room, well what can i say they were fantastic the castle was right there.
The moment we walked in the front door, we knew we were going to love this hotel. We had the great pleasure of being greeted by Peter Binnie, who was the afternoon manager for our entire stay. He was friendly, engaging and made some great suggestions for places to visit. Even more impressive, as my husband and I were wandering down one of the streets that Peter had recommended to us, who should we bump into, but Peter and, rather than rush past and pretend he hadn't noticed us, he stopped for a chat and pointed out a couple of more things that we might enjoy. Our room was spotless, the beds comfy and the breakfast generous, with probably the best view in Edinburgh, and we found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful, but Peter was an absolute standout. We would definitely book here, again, if we return.
Everything we wanted!”
We had a great 5 night stay at the Apex International at a really reasonable price. We has walked through the Grassmarket on a previous visit & love the location, with great views of the castle & some lovely pubs & restaurants right on the doorstep. Staff were very polite & friendly, greeting you every time you walked past the reception desk. Rooms were really well presented with good facilities & were always cleaned even if we had left the room quite late in the morning. Small swimming pool & sauna style room designed more for relaxation than exercise. Overall we could not fault the hotel & had a fantastic stay
Poor service in breakfast restaurant”
Our room had a balcony with amazing castle views which was very nice. The breakfast restaurant let the hotel down. It is far too small for the amount of guests in the hotel which led to queues of up to 30 minutes each morning. They need to employ more staff to cover the breakfast period and also replenish food sooner. We waited 40 minutes for breads to be replaced and were given bad attitude by the staff when we asked why it took so long. Not a good start to the day!
