部屋数が少ない為か、スタッフの心配りがきめ細やかで快く滞在出来ました。 ロケーションは川沿いでないのですが何よりおかみさんはじめスタッフの心配りに快く滞在することが出来たので、是非記念日とか特別な時にまた利用させて頂きます。 夕食は事前に申し込んでいなかったのですが前日にお願いし用意してもらったのですが、とても品数豊富で満足のいく料理で今度は次回は毎食利用させて頂きたいと思います。

Fabulous weekend”

We spent the last weekend here in order to see the snow monkeys in the hot spring and Obuse town. Both sights were good experiences. The Ryokan staff is very welcoming and friendly . The experience was authentic and we could recommend this place to stay!

Amazing ryokan ”

Comfy & Hospitable Stay!”

It was our first day in Japan, although the hotel was a down slope & not easy to find nevertheless we enjoyed the onsen & they also have an outdoor onsen available for booking. Each room will be given a time slot to use it. If you’re lucky a transport is available, they might be able to pick you from the train station, we got a drop off when we left the next day! The dinner & breakfast was SUPERB! so tasty & room is so big. Such a comfy stay to start with

We only stayed for one night, but couldn't have been happier with our stay. The staff, who spoke good English, couldn't have been more kind, friendly and helpful. We arrived before check in and were able to leave our bags. We chose this Ryokan because of the outdoor Onsen facility and particular because we had read you could use it privately. When we arrived we were able to book a time slot for the private use of the outdoor Onsen. In the evenings they reserve the onsen for private use and each room gets a half an hour slot, which is plenty of time. The water is super hot! We loved this experience! The indoor Onsen is basically the bathroom. There is one for men and one for women. If you have never bathed naked communally, it can be a bit daunting, but you just have to go with the flow and accept that's how it is! Toiletries all provided! The breakfast was delicious and traditional Japanese. Rooms were spacious, warm and clean. We had a toilet and sink. Highly recommended this Ryokan!

Good enough room for price, however it is not in Shibu onsen area so we could not get pass to experience the various public hot springs in Shibu Onsen town. We did not know in advance and was disappointed. However we could get good onsen at hotel. We did not have dinner only breakfast and food was quite good for ¥1000yen. Next time we plan to stay in Shibu Onsen town though.

Amazing experience. Clean. Private. Your own toilet and sink. Delicious breakfast and optional multi- course dinner. The staff works very hard to make your stay here private and traditional yet relaxed. You are given your own time slot for meals and your own private time in the outdoor hot spring. the ryokan only has a few guests at a time yet I’ve never stayed anywhere and met so many interesting people. The bed is traditional on the floor but “memory foam-ish” and comfortable. It’s close to train station and great restaurants. They drive you to the monkey park in the morning. Staff speaks English.

Nor was it stated anywhere on agoda you have to reserve it a day before. I settled for breakfast instead. On that note breakfast was incredible value for what they charge onsite. Very delicious as well. Would had loved to have tasted dinner as well.

happy with what we had ”

the room is how we we expected it to be from the reviews. maybe a little dusty in some of the corner places. the hot spring and outdoor and private onsen is exactly how the picture is, amazing. a little hard to find from the station, but the owner came and picked us up when found out that we were lost. super friendly owners.

Great onsen”

Room is spacious. Great service. Within 15 mins walk from the train station. And you need to walk uphill with your baggage to the station and slippery road. A bit far from the onsen area. Not much eatery nearby. Very quiet place at night. Sad thing is they don't provide transport to the train station so you will have to carry your own luggage. They only provide transport to the Monkey park in the morning. Overall ok

Amazing stay in Tawaraya ”

We arrived late afternoon and with some help of volunteers in Yudanaka we were shown the way to the ryokan. But wished we had informed the ryokan to pick us up at the station as we had 3 luggages... Check in was swift! We were shown to our room and luggages were already in the room! We were served hot towel and hot tea in the room.... Tatami all set up. There’s a heater in the room and was sufficient to keep us warm. We enjoyed the private outdoor onsen that we could book for 30 minutes block! My family loves it and we went back 3 times during our 2 night stay. This was the most special time our family enjoyed in Yudanka. It snowed one night and we were soaking in the outdoor onsen.. And also a shared onsen with shower facilities which was comfortable to use for quick soak! They provided free car ride to the snow monkey park about 15-20 minutes away. Wished they could pick us up tho as the buses were not easy to get to.... A very quiet town and we enjoyed eating at a few little restaurants around the ryokan.

the hotel is ran by a family, small and newly renovated. however, the price is not consistent, when we moved in, we found the price is much cheaper on what we paid several weeks ago via online booking. there is an open onsen and indoor onsen. the open onsen looks good, but you need to take turns to use it by gender and family which is not that flexible. the indoor one is very small and bath water is very hot... The receptionists are very friendly and helpful, can speak good English and also give us two umbrellas as the day we left is heavily raining outside. the working staff gave me a very good impression of this family hotel.

Traditional Ryokan Style with onsen. The onsen has one for co-ed use(and also private free of charge) separate men and women style. Nice for couples or families!
