Accommodation on the pier”
Good location on Ban Sare (which my favourite beach destination, easy access from Bkk). The resort is (almost) alongside the pier. But be aware of the various types available (and more pricey over the weekends). The studio types are on the 2nd floor (further away from pier, with only inlet sea view). I had wanted the 1 bedroom type, closer to pier and better sea view at ground level. But mistook studio type upon booking. I tried to pay for upgrade, but was told fully booked (30/3). Also be aware of limited facilities. The cafe/restaurant houses the small reception desk, and doesn't really operate. The open space park after chalets nearer to pier front is good for family BBQs, and basic equipment can be hired for thb120. Can order the fresh seafood from some small shops nearby. Can ride the resort's bicycles around
Nice view of the sunset! Very local feel”
A nice and homely stay by the sea. Great view of the fishing boat pier and sunset. Rooms a clean, free bicycle rental. You really need to get a car to go there but its really worth it. There is a evening market at a temple nearby, just 2-3mins away by bicycle.
progress check on property.”
i am purchasing a condo in Bang saray that is under construction and make regular inspections with the architect and engineers as we are doing several changes from the plan. The location and staff at Baan Tah is very good and we share an interest in trying to help the environment in the sea and surrounding areas. They have bicycles, kayaks and fishing rods for the guests to use, and is an easy 10 minute ride to many cafes, shops, markets and places of interest.
A lovely little gem”
The hotel and bungalows are built upon an old fishing pier that juts out 100-200 meters into the bay. One side faces a busy fishing pier where boats dock each morning to unload their previous night's catch; the other side overlooks a quieter scene of beaches and mounts in the distant. My wife and children stayed in two bungalows overlooking the pier. The bungalows are spacious with living room, kitchen area and separate bedroom (with ensuite bathroom). Each bungalow has a private balcony with lounge chairs and a small table. The rooms are sparse but functional and clean. There is a tv in the living room and bedroom but programming is local only so not much use. WIFI was stable and of sufficient bandwidth on a busy weekend to keep my kids' tablets streaming YouTube at night... The hotel has a small fleet (10-12) bicycles on loan for guests, which make exploring the local fishing community and nearby beaches and restaurants convenient and fun. We saw evidence of other amenities (e.g. sea kayaks, fully reclining loungers for sunbathing, oversized bean bag chairs, etc.) piled up and not in use. This may have been due to poor weather conditions at the time of our visit. The hotel is also a mere 10 minute drive to Cartoon Network's Amazone Waterpark.
bliss on the sea.”
The Baan Tah is a local Thai family owned accommodation built on an old fishing wharf. Made up mostly of individual chalet type rooms, and some studio rooms with views of all the port, and the working boats and fisherman. It is within walking distance of the local temples and markets and seafood restaurants, and a short drive to the navy controlled beach at Sai Keow Sattihep. There are several tourist spots within easy driving distance as well as several golf courses. The first Friday of the month the beach road is turned into their own Walking street and the local temple has markets every Wednesday with lots of food and bits and bobs.
Very nice hotel on top of the water”
We stayed in the D room (studio) and it is very well designed. It has a great view. The sitting area at the end of the pier is very nice in the evening when you can see the sunset. The hotel is also very close to the surrounding community and lots of great seafood restaurants.
Nice hotel on the bridge”
Hotel is new and some part still under construction. Room is large and clean with large seaside balcony. Hotel sit on the old fish transfer bridge (not heavily use now). All room can see sea view nicely. However, sea is not that clean for swimming as it's near the pier and market. There are some share dinning area in the resort that you can do some BBQ and have dinner together. Hotel is far from Pattaya so you need to have a car to reach there. However, it's good if you do not want to stay in crowded Pattaya area. Nice for relaxation. Didn't try the meal so could not recommend it. In general I would recommend this hotel for stay.
Great room- bed and bedding was excellent for a good nights sleep. Will return to hotel very soon. Staff very friendly and helpful
Great location. Perfect if you are looking for quiet place with great view of the sea
This hotel came on a recommendation from a friend and initially we were excited about its quaintness and location. Whilst all rooms have a sea view, those on the port side look over an industrial dockyard which is littered with floating rubbish. Those to starboard have a more pleasant view of fishing vessels and if we were to revisit, this would be a prerequisite. The food available consists of rice, prawns, fish - the same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but to cater for western tastes, they have a toaster! On the only morning I sampled breakfast, they ran out of bread and had to go to the local shops for a replenishment. The hot water machine for drinks was set to 60C so the coffee was undrinkable, tepid, water. Also, whilst promoting free wifi, the 50MB router was intermittent and constantly dropped the network. The owner, Khun Tah, was constantly having to reset the modem a real pain if you have work. Apart from all the above, the location to local amenities was the hotel's USP: fantastic beachside dining along the beach road, Nong Nooch Gardens, and the Sattahip fish markets and Thai naval bases. Pattaya, if you must, is only 20 kms away but the main road to and from is always a challenge.
Great little hotel, but on a working fishing pier”
While the hotels location could be considered as excellent its let down by the fact it's located on a working fishing pier, so between the hours of 6am & 9am trucks, motorbikes and very noisy staff right outside your bedroom window/door will make getting any sleep after 6am almost impossible. If your an early riser its a great place, lots going on, if you're planning on getting a lay in, forget it. The rooms themselves & facilities are excellent apart from the compulsory wake up call.
Awesome for a honeymoon or vacation with anyone”
Not only do they provide rooms, they provide separate "mini houses" which contains a small kitchen for some cooking and a lot of privacy. I also really like the balcony at the back where we can relax and look out to the sea at any time of the day. It's lovely and peaceful :)
I highly recommend”
It was excellent! First of all, I came with many family members and they accommodated us graciously - those who wanted to stay in one room, they provided one with four beds, two shower rooms and with quality no less than the other rooms. The location was well chosen, I really enjoyed watching the sun set on the dock, and taking pictures of the city on the side. Additionally, it's very nice that they provided complementary bikes to ride around the block.
Comfortable, clean and relaxing”
I was suprised on arrival. The photos don't do this place justice. It is a very pleasant environment, clean, roomy and nicely designed. The staff really make the difference, very helpful and attentive without getting under your feet. The owner really knows what is important to make guests happy.
Comfortable, near the market, nice owner”
At first, I planned to find an accommodation near the pier to Kham/Samae-sarn islands in Sattahip district. But due to limited time, I used Agoda to find a nice hotel and eventually ended up here. - the place is quite new, clean, comfortable (cos the house is yours!) - finishing constructing new building (activities done during daytime, so it doesn't disturb you at night) - breakfast not included, but you can tell them and pay extra. - 2 minutes from the market (the owner lended his motorcycle to me) - the market got everything; cooked food, fresh food (including seafood that you can grill at the hotel). And there are two 7-eleven at the market. So, you dont have to worry about finding food. Just Tell the owner or staff you wanna go the market (ta-lard in Thai) and the owner would lend you the bike. - there's an area where you can chill and grill seafood. Just tell them you want a griller. I think it's 200 Baht. * Tips: if you want to avoid the crowd at Pattaya and Larn island, you can stay in Sattahip and go to Kham and Samae-sarn islands. They are more natural and beautiful.
We spent 2 wonderful nights at Baan Tah in June. Our host, Nong Tah, was always willing to please and arranged dinner to be delivered from a local Thai Restaurant. 5 minute drive to Nong Nooch Gardens - a great place to spend a day. Sunrises and Sunsets over the Fishing piers and Ocean are spectacular. Dinner overlooking the sea is not to be missed. The cottages are spacious and tastefully furnished and the little touches, such as bath towels folded into Swans, add to the enjoyment. Thank you Tah!
Simple and easy”
