Perfect location, helpful staff, spotless room”
We stayed at Baanboran for two nights. The room was spotless. Very clean room in a secure spot. The staff are young but very helpful. Only a five minute walk to the Grand Palace and five minute walk to Khao San Rd. which makes it ideally located. Located on a local street, with some homeless people, but they just keep to themselves. A great location in Bangkok!
Amazingly helpful staff”
I cannot say enough about how helpful the staff were. We had an early flight, and a staff member was up at 4am, arranging a taxi and ensuring we got off on time. Location is great - 5 min walk from Khaosan, but far enough away not to be in the middle of it.
Humble hotel is recommended”
this hotel was nice and quirky. the little thai girls who run the place are fun. the breakfast was good. kind of noisy, had to breakup some cats fighting and showing off, but that was kind of fun. wifi worked well enough. probably a good place to stay one or two times, and if you are in for adventure.
Great place to stay if you would like to go Grand Palace”
This is the great place to stay if you would like to go see Emerald Buddha, Grand Palace along with the other temple, famous history building of Bangkok. Also only 5-10 min walk to Khao Sarn night life street. Staffs are goods, breakfast is a-la-carte, nice coffee. I will stay here again if i have to go that area.
Everything is ok, especially the location. You can just walk to Khao San and Grand Palace. Luckily I met a lady which can speak english well and give recommendation where to go and eat. But the staffs cant speak english. They need to improve it and also learn how the service from the heart.
Not professionall staffs...Teenager...but clean room every day”
Teenager staffs, cannot speak English, really not professionall staffs...Breakfast not bad,but they forgot the coffee from my menue and the ordered chicken but wanted the full price. Rooms clean everyday...good rooms.
Hidden Gem in the heart of the action”
Great place to see all of the sights. Grand palace, wat pho, and khaosan are all walking distance. There is a 7 eleven on the corner and great food vendors on the street. Toward the canal there is a karaoke bar with great seafood dishes, cold beer and a fun atmosphere. I recommend this place over staying on the sloppy and noisy khaosan. Amazing!
Beautiful Hotel, quiet environment”
Baanboran is a nice hotel, located about 10 min walking from Kaosan road area, in a very quiet street. It is easy to access taxis from there and nice to walk around. THere is also a supermarket closeby. The room was very big and beautiful - the only setback was that the toilets were outside, which is not so convenient. Also, the shower is inside the room, not in a separate small room, so guests can see the other person showering so there is not much privacy. Because of that, the price is a bit high for what it is. Other than the toilet being outside, the place is great and super quiet, which is nice as hotels around Kaosan road can be very busy, so that it nice that this one is a bit further.
The cutest staff we have ever seen :-)”
We stayed at BaanBoran during our trip to Bangkok and really liked it! You are near Kao San road, but in a quiet street, and near Wat Po and Wat Arun. It was the only hotel we saw in Thailand that had real coffee for breakfast! The staff was really kind and always in a good mood. Rooms were comfortable, but aircondition directed straight to the bed.
Calm, very friendly staff and clean ”
Easy access (10 min walking) to Khao San Rd and market. The room was very clean and quiet, with wifi, shower (and hot water). Owner very kind and helpfull, always ready to give you tips and helps you with anything. Even if she's the only one speaking english, the staff was there for you and smilling. Always give us snacks in the afternoon (iced tead and fruits or sorbet). Toilets were out of the room but very clean. I'd go there again.
Right in the Old City, great for walking to sites.”
the friendliness and eagerness of the young staff make the stay but only two could speak a small bit of english (or any other language other than thai) so it was very frustrating sometimes to ask any questions at all. the manager/owner (?) seems to have a day job elsewhere so is only there in the evenings but she speaks fluent english and is a problem server. the staff will sometimes phone her for help when a guest really has a problem. transportation is the biggest problem. taxis in bangkok seem to only want to stay in their own area so it can be very hard to get one that will take you very far away although the hotel staff take on the challenge and we sometimes had three of them out searching the streets for a cab to take us to a location farther away such as the siam niramit show which we almost missed after allowing for 2 hours to get there. it's also far from the underground and elevated train system so you have to rely on taxis and tuktuks.
Nice although little out of the way”
Getting to the hotel may be a little tricky if you don't use taxi. From Khao San you have to cross very busy road and then walk along side-street which seems quite dodgy to be honest. The whole neighbourhood looks very run down, but we had no problem even when getting there at night. Night market along the canal is very close as well.
A taste of genuine hospitality”
this low-cost hotel is an oasis of peace and quiet. our room was on the 2nd floor (1 floor up from ground) and opened up on the inner courtyard. when booking on line, we made a mistake and signed up for a twin bed instead of a double, but the hotel management moved us to a spacious double at no extra cost. as a result, we cannot in faith say that we did see what the twin bed superior room was like. we would have extended our stay for an extra 4 days, but alas there were no longer any rooms available. the furniture in the room was sturdy local thai. the staff was always super helpful and friendly. the only glitch (no fault of the hotel) is that most taxi drivers do not know the location of the street.
Nice gust house, close to the palace”
It's close to Kaoshan road, the palace, and lots of temples. 2KM to China Town and Hua Lampon. Free wifi. Free breakfast. Nice waitresses. But they know little English. The hostess can speak English and Chinese Mandarin. No toilet in rooms. Need to share toilet with other guests.
Friendly hosts, comfortable room”
The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. They didn't speak great English but this wasn't a problem. They helped us when we had difficulties with our taxi to the airport, gave us an umbrella when it looked like it might rain, provided wonderful fruit & a refreshing drink when we returned in the afternoons. Highly recommended!
Nice hotel in great location and very nice staff”
We took this hotel because it was very close to the main touristic attractions and we are glad we did. The hotel is amazingly close to everything and still in a quiet area. Furthermore, the rooms, although simple, are sparkling clean. The best thing about this hotel has been the kind hotel staff which helped us in whatever we needed and always with a smile. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bangkok.
