Great hotel a stones throw from the new Ao Po Grand Marina - cosey comfortable villas with own pool, outdoor showers and very friendly helpful staff. Ideal for romantic getaways and for people looking to get away from the usual Phuket crowds. Shops and amenities not the closest having said this. Another great plus is that this hotel segregates the Chinese tour groups so you are not affected by their usual loud behaviour.

Very tired old decor. Breakfast was shockingly bad. Sheets & towels clean. Only go if you get a really good deal.

Not so value for money”
Though hotel has a good view and is at the right location as we attend the event nearby, we found that hotel put us in a room that very stink and has no view. Amount of food at breakfast is enough for a person to be full but don't expect much of a variety of food. We did order the room service and the price was incredibly high compare to the taste.
One thing good was staffs here were really nice to us.

Rat in the kitchen”
It was nice that they upgraded my room since its off peak season, but its appalling that there was a rat running around the kitchen cupboards, and when I reflected that to the receptionist, she just SMILED. Honestly, even a sincere apology would have been enough.
Please spend your money elsewhere. I should have done that.

Don't waste your hard earned money”
The amount we paid was outrageous for this run down resort that had hardly any guests. It did not present as the photos showed. The complimentary breakfast looked like it had been out for 3 days. The only food that was freshly prepared were omelletes and they were about the size of half a piece of toast. We pulled up at the lobby and one of the staff were smoking. At the breakfast place the staff were all huddled together having private conversations. We had to pay extra for the airport shuttle. The only positive was the complimentary 15 minute massage, the lovely older Thai lady really knew how to do a very stress relieving massage.

Nice place to relax but could be better experience”
Quiet, nice garden, nice villas
Feelings come as being a bit mixed on this resort, as it could have been a great experience. Chandara is located in a secluded muslim village in a remote area in the North East of Phuket. There are little options outside and just one decent restaurant at a walking distance from the hotel.
On the one hand, some really positive things like : quiet location, nice view on the sea, comfortable villas and great garden, nice pool system, nice upgrade to better villa, hotel shuttle available to airport for a fee, for free to downtown Patong and friendly staff.
On the other hand, the sea is so unclear here that nobody dares swimming, the beach is mostly rocks, too many premises lack much of the traditionnal Thai taste for style, the food, including breakfast, is really average and quite expensive, and the service although friendly surprinsingly limited and slow.
The breakfast settings are quite basic, and the early morning service slow to get to the right speed. You have to move quickly in the morning to find the one or two clean tables with sunshade - no parasol are made available on the breakfast platform. As the resort is located in a secluded fishermen's village in a remote area on North Est of Phuket, there is almost no shopping option outside. Therefore, a car is highly recommended to avoid being stuck.
The free boat trip to a supposedly better beach lands you to Naka Island in a tourist trap where you need to pay for a seat on the beach and where the back of the beach looks like a junkyard. The risk to harm yourself with broken glass on the beach is scaring and very real, so be very careful here.
Back to the resort, you can try to walk to the pier (right side) or to the marina under construction (left side) to negotiate a boat day trip to the nearby islands.
