Excellent boutique hotel! Very classic and high-end.
Pros—location and the deal I got on this website! Cons—they put faux rose petals all over our bed and they had hair in them! Gross!! The floor is VERY creaky meaning it’s impossible to get up in the middle of the night without disturbing your partner. The staff was indifferent. It’s a nice hotel but obviously has some places for improvement.
Rubbish wifi in room ”
As a visitor in other country, we neeed network to search where is good to go or not, unfortunately in this hotel where I stay in the room the wifi just like a rubbish when I search with google maps it’s different to search that, after that I use my mobile network that just can use in 3g, something like comeback to 2000. So next time when I come to London I’ll not come to this hotel again
Great staff, great facilities, great cocktails!
In a small alley of Mayfair district. Quiet and relaxing venue. Reasonable room space.
Great quite location. Comfortable room.
The hotel is very nice and the location is great. ”
This is a very nice hotel and in a beautiful neighborhood. I was very disappointed though in the service and staff. Not very helpful or friendly and overall just a stuffy place to stay. I felt like an unwelcome guest. The highly touted martini bar was a huge let down. Hard to get in and then long waits for a drink. Luckily we found the American Bar at the Stafford Hotel around the corner which I highly recommend. With all the options of nice hotels in London, I would definitely stay elsewhere next time.
Room 507 Relatively comfortable. A quirky shower, the drain couldn't keep up with the, unadjustable, flow from the shower head. The floor was uneven and creaked. The air conditioner was ineffective. Small things niggled, like a lack of clothes hooks and a dearth of hangers. Bed was uncomfortable, a far cry from what is available in the hotel industry today. Staff were excellent; friendly and professional. A great location. I would stay there again if the price were right.
A great place to stay in London”
Perfect location, helpful staff and a high level of comfort. Could not ask for more
Great location and all the staff were very helpful The room was clean but in need of a bit of an update - fraying carpet, dated bathroom and 80s curtains. No tea making option and no drinking glasses.
Excellent location and first class staff. Bed comfortable and bathroom very good. However as a 5 star hotel it is overated. Room was small with a coffee machine that did not work. Creaky floorboards were annoying as was the lack of attention, water and slippers for one guest and coffee cups left unwashed and room barely tidied. My son had preordered a bottle of gin this arrived only on the second night with no note or explanation. Personally I thought charging £270 for a £35 bottle of Hendricks was a serious rip off. Not worthy of its reputation
great small hotel”
great location, super bar and atmosphere, great breakfast and breakfast room, staff very well trained but rooms very small and basic for a five star hotel
HAPPY AND ROMANTIC HOLIDAY IN LONDON”
THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE OF HOTEL IN LONDON
Worth the Wait”
I've wanted to stay here for thirty years; it was wonderful.
Cleaning of room was done late afternoon so we could not access the room when we came back after the day and before we went out to dinner
Would go again”
Miss Havisham Comes To Mind...”
Dukes is an old, venerable hotel with history galore...and the most fabulous martini bar. It's an institution. It's in a near perfect location for visitors, and the staff could not be more pleasant or helpful. And those things make up for a great deal (for us, at least). And, well, they do need to a bit. Havisham I said, and Havisham it is. This once proud place of spit and polish is most definitely tired round the edges. Our room was, on the surface, very nice, but if you look a bit closer, it's in relatively poor condition; stains, scratches, bumps, bruises, and some very shoddy maintenance / updating work in the bath marred the experience. Taken as a whole, well, It's not an inexpensive spot to stay in and there are competitors very near by that offer nicer accomodations, and a perhaps equal experience overall. Would we stay again? Probably under the same travel circumstances. Just be sure that Dukes is your particular type of tipple...
An atmospheric hotel in a great location”
Dukes Hotel is an old hotel tucked away in a lane which can make arriving and departing tricky. It was ok for me arriving in a cab in the early afternoon but I suspect the place can get busy with limited ability to turn cars around. The hotel itself is full of charm. I was there at Christmas and the decorations were substantial and beautiful. The staff are very friendly. If there is one fault it is the lift. Only one and it's very old. If you can't do stairs and you are in a hurry, you may have problems. The hotel has a famous cocktail (martini) bar. Very very expensive but great martinis and worth a splurge. The drinks are strong so one round will probably do which is all I could afford. Good idea to book a table.
