location/staff is nice.”
The hotel is located just outside of the Villa Borghese, which is a nice park and it has the Galleria Borghese, which is a museum with amazing Bernini statues!!! It is a 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, about a 20 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain and about a 30 minute walk to the Piazza Navona. Other interesting sites are easy to reach by Metro, closest stop being the Barbarini stop, Metro line A (which was closed while I was there, but then the Spagna stop is the next closest to the hotel). The breakfastroom is on the 6th floor and has an amazing view of St.Peters Cathedral!!! Having breakfast there every morning was a delight! And the breakfast buffet was definately very elaborate! My friend had a room with a balcony on the side of the park, not sure if she has paid extra for this, but it is a very nice way to spend an evening with a cup of tea to watch the sun go down.
Hotel was nice and quite Easy to go around
This hotel location is in between of 2 train station but the famous Spanish step is within walking distance. To avoid misery just take taxi from and to airport. Service is very good. Breakfast is western or french with a lovely view of Rome city. I would like to come back to this hotel.
The staff were fantastic and very attentive, great views from breakfast. Booked last minute was chea”
I booked for my parents and I-laws. My mother in law was ill the night before and we were travelling from outside of Rome into Rome - I called ahead and staff were so accommodating - they sorted a room out for my ill mother in law way before we arrived so it was ready and she could go straight up to the room after the journey. Breakfast was lovely, rooms were very comfortable, views from the top floor are brilliant. Thanks again.
Great hotel to stay in Rome”
The hotel is next to the Borghese garden. It's within walking distance to the Trevi's fountain and spanish steps. For other attractions, you'd walk 5-7 minutes to the Barberini subway station and take the subway. The room is the most spacious I've ever been to, with great view of the garden and west Rome. the restaurant on the 6th floor offers even better views. the staff is very friendly. The only downside is that the hotel gives a slight feeling of being old. Maybe that's what most Rome hotels are due to the history. I don't have comparison. Overall, great value, good hotel and I would highly recommend it. Thanks Claudio!
This hotel is not in the center of town where most tourist destinations are, so it is a slightly longer walk and there are fewer nearby dining options, but it is still very walkable without public transportation or taxis. My mattress was a bit worn out, and the shower drains were sluggish. However, I got a good deal on the room, they had very friendly staff who spoke excellent English, and they provided a very nice breakfast spread.
Nice Place in Good Location”
The Eliseo Hotel is located in a nice area of Rome, close to Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. Staff were polite, accommodating, and facilities are nice. You feel safe in this location, right around the corner from Harry's Bar and many nice restaurants. The room's air conditioning was minimal, and opening the window was helpful. Bed was uncomfortable at best, but to their defense, we were only there two nights so did not mention that to the attendant and just suffered through it. Would definitely stay there again.
Nice hotel near Villa Borghese”
small room but clean, internet was slow but price was right - free. i was irritated when one of the bellboys entered my room without knocking while i was taking a nap. i complained to the front desk and they apologized - and that was that. i would stay here again.
the hotel's location is good and lots of resturants close by. the room is spacy, clean and bright. hotel staffs are very helful. breakfast is at the 6th floors. it has lots of choices and wonderful to enjoy the breakfact with perfect views just outside the window in the morning. we definitely will come back again.
nice great clean hotel”
nice great clean beautiful hotel, nearest metro is Barberini but abt 10 mins walk, friendly receptionist, good breakfast, good view from breakfast room on 6th floor, posh hotel, good value for money, quiet area, near Villa Borghese
as near perfect as one could want for the price”
if the criterion for a hotel is that one would want to return...this is it. good size of bedroom, reasonable en-suite, excellent breakfast buffet in a room with views over the trees in the borghese gardens and a great view of st. peter's. characterful public rooms, bar where one can get coffee as well as drinks in the late evening- when we were there, great, elderly barman. quite quiet and yet handy for restaurants etc.
Great location and friendly, helpful staff”
great views from rooftop breakfast room - good selection for breakfast. Duty manager most obliging in providing us a quieter room with a view, as soon as one became available. Bar manager was a stand-out. Location four doors from Via Veneto and adjacent to the Borghesi gardens is hard to beat. Good value for money.
We had a great time at this hotel !”
We had a great 3 days at the Hotel Eliseo. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a great location, comfy room, and yummy breakfast in the heart of Rome. There is the Spagna Metro at the corner, no more than 2 blocks away. That corner street also happens to be the Via Veneto ! It is a long walk from the entrance to the to the train itself, but it is all underground which is helpful in the snow or rain. There is a also a small supermarket and a fancy wine shop not far from the exit as you return to the hotel. So handy and saved us a lot of $$. The rooms are smallish when compared to the hotels we stayed in on other trips, but we have been spending most of our time in Asia - specifically Thailand, where most rooms are larger than my first apartment ! The Eliseo had a small desk with chair, a comfy, cushy chair with ottoman, plenty of hangers and a mini-bar . This was much better than most hotels I could afford when I was in Europe before, and the people were certainly much more helpful. I messed up the in room safe, and the lovely gentleman at the front desk came up and reset it for me with nary a cross glance or hint of impatience.
Good location but tired hotel decor ”
The hotel was reasonable in terms of style and choice of breakfast. Only one lift, tired decor and no bar service (when we were there). Cheap minibar but no complimentary water
The room was inadequately stocked with tea, coffee etc. The bed was the hardest & most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The springs dug in with each turn. The breakfast on the top floor was lovely & waiting staff polite.
