Good service! Nice room.”
The service is very good, the hotel-staff are very nice and helpful, the room are very comfortable. Some of the days I stayed the breakfast was very good and French. Just booking with Agoda was a big mistake.
Cute hotel on the middle of the city”
The hotel is very nice and great value for your money. It is a great location with friendly and accommodating staff. We had some issues in the beginning of our short stay, that were eventually resolved and made for a very pleasant stay, but were initially frustrating. We wished we had more time to spend and will hopefully come back for a second chance! A shout out (applause) to the front desk staff and Apkar for their very accommodating and friendly attitude and remedying our issues.
Elegant and Comfortable”
I was very impressed with the Herbert Samuel. The hotel is much nicer than depicted on their web site so my expectations were not very high. The hotel exudes an old world European elegance with modern amenities. The morning brunch was superb!!!! The kids loved the indoor pool and the location is great. Highly recommend!
Great location, excellent servicr”
My daughter stayed at Herbert Samuel last year and recommended it. My friend and I were first time visitors to Jerusalem. Ideal location near Market and two must see museums, the Froebds of Zion and Hebrew music museum. Several good restaurants within a few blocks including Zuni open 24 hours. The staff at Herbert Samuel were friendly, helpful and responded promptly to amy question or request. Wonderful breakfast in open setting on top floor.
Great location, fantastic staff!”
We had an unbelievable stay at the Herbert Samuel. The staff from security, reception, manager, housekeeping,, and others were so gracious, accommodating, helpful, and truly personified 5-star service. The location is right where all the action is, walkable to the market, old city, shops, and restaurants. The pool, sauna, and breakfast view is definitely an added bonus to the well-appointmented superior room and bathroom. The only downside to the hotel is there is no parking on site and no valet service. Other than the parking, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Jerusalem.
Very small rooms”
This was the second time we stayed there. The first time the room was small but acceptable. This time the room was just so tiny, with one small window. They put the safe on the window sill since there wasn't any other place to put it due to the size of the room, taking away part of the visibility of the already small window. I stayed with my wife and we had to detour around our suitcases when we wanted to walk in the room. When we complained about the size of the room, we were told that they have 4 room sizes and that our's was the standard room, even though we got a bigger (still small) room last time. The hotel has a great location, right in the center of town, walking distance to everything, but they have no parking. The staff is very attentive and wants to please aside from not dealing with the small room. Breakfast is a fully Israeli buffet breakfast and is very good. They have a nice indoor pool and fitness center. I would recommend this hotel only if you don't get the "standard" room.
Excellent location in the heart of Ben Yehuda,”
Pros: new, beautiful, comfortable, location, extremely accommodating and attentive staff, nice facilities. Cons: subpar pillows!!! For such a nice hotel, unusually large and firm pillows! Parking is costly closer to the hotel, 4-5 blocks away it is more reasonable. But if you are staying in the neighbourhood, you don't really need a car, parking anywhere is a bigger hassle than it is worth.
Great Value for a Hotel”
Very nice accomodations in an excellent location. Everyone on staff was very helpful. English was spoken by everyone except the housekeeper. The breakfast was decent. The amenities in the bathroom and the robes and slippers were a nice touch. We loved the shower although there was no tub. we felt it was a great value. We would highly recommend this hotel to all types of visitors. They even offered free international calls in the lobby and the wi-fi was free and easy to access.
We had an amazing stay at the Herbert Samuel Hotel. The facilities were immaculate and tastefully designed. Great location, delicious breakfast spread, and the staff was extremely accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel!
Best Hotel In Jerusalem”
My wife and I loved this hotel. While the rooms are a little small, they are very nice, with a comfortable bed and lots of hot water. It was very quiet and the included breakfast is to die for. 5+ starts for the Herbert Samuel
Beautful Boutique Hotel with Great Service in #1 Location”
My wife and I spent 6 days in Jerusalem at the Herbert Samuel Hotel and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the location could not be beat. The hotel had bicycles to use free of charge, and we rode around Jerusalem by bike at all hours of the night. I highly recommend this hotel. You will not regret it!
disappointing and unclean”
Even though we paid for breakfast unless you want to wait till it opens at 7am you have no choice but to leave the hotel and find a local shop open as tours usually start early. Very limited room service available and dont even bother on religious holidays as no one is available. We had the last persons empty shampoo and soap left in the shower, obviously not cleaned and a dead bug in the bathroom on the floor for the whole 5 days, so obviously vacuuming was not an option. We are pretty sure we had bed bugs as we both got multiple bites on our legs and body and ended up sleeping on towels on top of the sheet which helped stop the bites.
Beautiful hotel. Very unprofessional staff”
The hotel and location were amazing!! The staff at the hotel are mostly nasty people, as you walk around staff members keep coming over to you asking if you're staying at the hotel, most of them have attitude issues when talking to them (with the exception of one frond desk staff member Sami who was very helpful). The staff working at the bar have no clue how to prepare cocktails that are on the menu. Every where you walk in the hotel the staff members are looking you up and down... Other than the actual quality of the hotel, the atmosphere isn't enjoyable...
Great service, breakfast is amazing, clean and perfect location
We will return. The staff was great and there were no disappointments. Room was clean and there were all the amenities you wd want.
Hotel Staff very happy to help.
Try to order directly NOT THROUGH AGUDA.. BIG MISTACK ”
I will never order through AGUDA...
If you are a light sleeper avoid this hotel. Our small room was facing busy Jaffa Street and we could hear everything through the windows including the loud music. Breakfast was ok, compared to other hotels not very good. Lifeguard at the pool was constantly talking loud on the phone for over one hour. It wasn't possible to relax there. He just didn't care about guests.
Overall a decent place but... ”
While booking I asked for a room with 2 beds, I also called the hotel and was told it's not a problem having 2 beds in a standard room, however when I got there I only had one bed in the room and they weren't willing to accommodate. Also there were 2 guys talking in Hebrew about us in a somewhat negative way, not knowing that I understand what they're saying. I do want to give a thumbs up to Shoshanna, she is the reason I'm giving staff 2 stars instead of 1, she was very curtious and really tried to help, I think she genuinely tried to give me a bigger room with 2 beds but after asking her manager, she told me that there were no other rooms available, personally I think that wasn't true and she was just instructed to tell me so, and she could not override her manager, that would have been the right thing for them to do, by not doing the right thing, I will not go back to that hotel or recommend it to anyone else, and I will be leaving negative reviews.
