Just seemed like it was from - far flung decade of the past, even though Naypyitaw wasn't even a city until the 2000s.
It was just a bit bizarre, but there's only so much you can do as a foreigner in terms of accommodation in this town, so we bit the bullet.
Would be worth $25 or $30 for a night, but not the $50 that we paid.
Final note: if you want a great stay in Naypyitaw, go to the Junction Hotel (right next to a shopping center on the Hotel Zone road also called Junction). We walked in w no reservation and got a great room for $45. Wifi was a bit slow, but everything else was fantastic when compared to other options in town.
