The floor in the room was dirty, the electrical plugs didn’t work, room is noisy as it’s on a busy street.
Perfect location ”
The hotel communicated with me from start just after I made the booking. When we arrived we battled to find it, because it’s on 1st floor and there are not visible signs. Room was nice with high ceilings, and power ac, bed comfortable. The location is brilliant, basically walking distance to all tourist attractions, Trastevere with all little restaurants and Via del Corso and Via del Tritone with all the shops. Hop on bus stop is about 15mins walk. Staff is super friendly, will give you a map and explain how to get anywhere. There is little pizza shop right at Via Arenula around corner from the hotel, making awesome pizza. Overall I couldn’t have wish for better location. Will be back.
Wrong type of room provided. Rude and uncivilised hotel manager. ”
I have booked a double room for me only, stating that there will be a bathtub and shower. However, upon my arrival, they have provided me another type of room, that included a smaller bathroom with no bathtub. I have actually contacted Agoda and the manager of the hotel. Neither of them could help me solve my problem. The FEMALE HOTEL MANAGER even scolded me over phone and she failed to understand the situation that they’re providing something that is under my expectation. She has been shouting out her “apology” to me on phone which is unrespectful and humiliating. She even told me she knew what she was selling and said I DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO MANAGE a hotel. (Well of course I don’t know, but I don’t think you can manage well as you can’t even manage a room and manage the communication with the agency company) Other staff are friendly. The room I stayed at is clean and compact enough. I suggest the hotel manager learn from your co-workers and take some emotional management course.
My place of choice in Rome”
I’ve been visiting Rome for business and leisure for 15 years and I always stay there. There must be good reasons. Location is #1. Walking distance from the Campi dei Fiori and San Eustacchio caffè!
A wonderful stay”
This hotel is in a superb location for visits to the ancient part of Rome and the staff were so helpful with advice and bookings. Thoroughly recommended!
Worst 4 star hotel”
Super disappointed with our stay. Tram line just next to the hotel, noisy and shook the whole building every 5 mins and throughout the night. Requested to swap to a quieter corner but were asked to pay more euros. Ended up in a smaller downgraded room, we shared a single bed for 3 nights. We were also told that bfast was included but luckily we checked again the next morning and found out it wasn’t. Not to lucky for another couple, where they were tricked into having bfast and had to pay for it at check out. More like a 3 Star motel, too bad we had to pay city tax rate for a supposedly ‘4 star’ hotel. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else quieter and better.
More than Happy”
Really nice hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, happy and helpful. The rooms and common areas were all tastefully adorned. We would happily stay there again and recommend to others.
Perfect location, friendly staff, good breakfast.”
Pros - location was great, staff - very helpful and polite, good breakfast, good value for money. Cons - small room, every time the tram passes it was rather noisy.
Very good location and service. Cons: noise because of the Tram passing right next to the building.
Hotel has wonderful location, and staff is extremely friendly, with excellent English. Hotel breakfast has some great gems, with many of the pastries baked fresh.
Location is close to many attractions ”
Pro - close to all things including food and drinks . A little distance from Vatican City if that is your focus. Con - There wasn't a shower in our room, tub with hand held though, so we made it work. It is right next to the metro, so tad noisy, but they stop at midnight until 7ish am. A little on the pricey side, but location was worth it for us.
Mislead regarding breakfast being included then charged us €16
Great location, old property, poor facilities”
Excellent location but old property with poor facilities. I would definitely not recommend the hotel for a business traveller.
Sorry for the bad review, but...”
I was scheduled to stay here for 4 nights - I checked out after the first. The Hotel Locanda Cairoli is located directly on the local train line. The tracks run less than 10 meters from the side of the building. During the day, the trains run in both directions approximately every 5 minutes. There was a bit less traffic at night, but the building still shook when they rumbled by. The hotel itself has lots of character, but there is no way I could recommend it as a place to spend the resting hours of a busy vacation!!! I expected to pay for my first night and was told I would be refunded my last 3 nights. When the day manager came in on day 2, she told me I would not be refunded at all, but could be given a new room (right next to my first room). This was unacceptable and after much cajoling and calls to Agoda, I ended up paying for two nights and found a beautiful (and quiet) hotel across town.
A little small for two, but great location in Rome”
We got this room on an agora secret deal, so we paid quite a bit less than normal, however it is well priced based on other places in the area. It was one of th only hotels we stayed in during our time in Italy that actually allowed us to use the air conditioner like advertised. It is in a great central location for seeing all of the major sites in Rome. However, the rooms are very small (barely could walk around the bed) and the walls are thin so you can hear louder conversations in the adjacent room. No fridge in the room and no dining options other than breakfast, but great places to eat nearby.
Central accomodation ”
Great accomodation it's walking distance/easy commute to everything
Good location ”
Good location, we walked all over! Very small room for a couple. Shower was not so clean. Good hotel for a short time.
Nice clean and modern appartment close to the staion.”
Very good information upon arrival. Nice modern appartment close to the station and not too far from the city centre and the beach.
near Campo D'Fiori and Trastevere”
about 5 min walk to Campo D'Fiori, Piazza Navona and Trastevere, yet not too touristy. Restaurant reasonably priced. Front Step speak good English and helpful.
Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. Rooms are extremely small and toilet is unsatisfactory. Otherwise good location, close to Pantheon and Piazza Navona
