Amazing! Wish we had more time”
The beach at the hotel is quite lovely and more akin to American beaches (limited to no rocks at shore). Water is the luscious blue. The dining staff at restaurant and bar not very friendly towards my friends and I. However, the reception staff were very friendly before our visit during calls and during our visit
Amazing beach, nice and clean bungalow! We definitily come back here in Moorea next time!
We loved our stay here. We actually caught the 7.30am ferry over to Moorea and had no expectations that we would be able to check into our bungalow until later but the amazingly staff had it ready for us within 15 minutes. We were in garden view bungalow number 4 which was about 5 rows back from the beach but that suited us fine as you didn’t have people constantly walking past you. The beach is stunning. Crystal clear waters. Lovely shallow lagoon that is safe for the children. Full of colourful fish. We hired kayaks and went snorkeling out between the 2 island motus. Amazing! Also hired a small motor boat and went the very short distance to the spot where you swim with the sharks and rays...even more amazing. We did find the restaurant food very expensive but that is the case everywhere. There are shops about a 10 min walk away. We made a lot of our meals in the room. Totally loved this place. I’d say it’s the best location on Moorea. Thank you for a wonderful stay
Great location and amazing beach ”
If you stay here, you have to go swim with the sharks and rays.
Some parts were fine, however it sorely lacks maintenance. Nice staff though.
Great value, good staff, best for families and groups”
Even for a solo traveller Tipaniers is relatively affordable. As many bungalows sleep 4-6 people it is even better for families and groups. The restaurant is above average but the staff were really excellent - very helpful and courteous even if you don't speak French. I liked the mix of families, couples and even the odd solo traveller like me. The dive shop on site Tip Nautic is very convenient for trips. My only real criticism was breakfast, which didn't impress me. Go for self catering in the morning. Lunch on the beach was very good though - some excellent salads. And the evening restaurant does a very nice job. Try the creme brûlée made with local vanilla!
Great position ”
Great position and good bungalows, poor services and not really nice staff.
I barely left the area...everything you want is near. I even kayaked nearby and saw sting rays swimming around on their own (no tour needed). The only thing that I would have enjoyed is a better on-site breakfast option. Only continental, croissants, cereal, and muffins. I have recommended this to friends already and hope to return again.
Good Cheap Motel”
No real complaints, it is a cheap motel in a good location. Our room only had a ceiling fan and no air con so it got hot but not to any extreme. I would recommend it if you are on a budget.
Gorgeous Tahitian style, self contained bungalows right on the beach. Their morning/day time restaurant is overlooking the beach and bay and was open till after sunset. They have another restaurant for dinner. Food was some of the better meals we had on the island. Close to other restaurants and supermarkets. Boat and paddle board hire, diving school etc is right out the front and it is a short paddle to snorkel with the rays and reef sharks. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Not speaking French was not a problem.
Great friendly helpful staff with great location with unit clean but rustic w/no AC but we loved it”
The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful and went out of their way to help by making reservations and the restaurants on site(the Garden) had great food with great service at a good price point for the area.
Everyday we went snorkeling, seeing sunrise and sunset and making friends. It was a dream vacation. Thank you.
We loved it there the food is great!
Awesome location with an amazing beach at your front door. Restaurant was great and staff were very helpful. We had such a wonderful stay here, could have stayed much longer!!
Will Return ”
Very helpful staff upon arrival, making us feel very welcome! Fare we stayed in was very spacious and clean! All located in a wonderful garden that leads right onto the beach! Beach restaurant is meeting point in week ends and also very known by locals! Great relaxing atmosphere! Great food in both restaurants! You don't need to look any further! Small village at walking distance..
Lovely beach & bungalows”
We stayed in a beach bungalow which had a great view of the beach. Was busy Sunday as public has access to the beach. Overall was a good value choice with good dining.
Not What Was Implied”
We found the following very unsatisfactory: 1. No air cnditioning and the unit fans were very small 2. No sheets on the second small bed in the living area 3. Non-potable water in the unit 4. Screens had holes - lots of mosquitos entered the room 5. No WI-Fi in the room, then Wi-Fi stopped working in the restaurant
Nice tropical holiday for the budget minded”
A nice place to stay”
The bungalows had no AC, but lots of windows for fresh circulation. We just sat and looked out at the water and reef during the hot afternoons. It wasn’t too hot for sleeping. There were lots of birds everywhere including roosters and chickens. They were very colorful. There were no-nos (no see ums) so we got quite a few bites. I was glad that no bug spray was being used. It felt healthier that other warm tropical areas we visited where bug repellent was freely sprayed. The staff was wonderful and the food was good - expensive, but we didn’t need to rent cars or tours to go anywhere. The Tipaniers was booked mainly by families with children. Some rooms had kitchens. The families ordered pizzas or shared big bowls of spaghetti and sat outside eating together. We walked to the food mart about 1 mile away to buy water and souvenirs and one more “light weight” dress.
