Best service, convenient interconnected rooms”
The service of front desk was flawless. The staff in dinning room were so friendly and helpful. We spent 5 nights here living in two interconnected rooms, my old parents liked this hotel very much! We appreciate the stay, so we booked 3 nights in another Mantra in Sydney for the coming weekend too :-D
Dear Cuiwen, Thank you for staying with us and providing the feedback. We are glad that you had enjoyed your stay and that we could make a difference. We look forward to welcoming you back. Warmest regards, Steve Tan Rooms Division Manager
Hotel that feels like a homey”
The room is spacious and everything you need in an apartment can be found there (including cooking utensils, cutlary, etc) - this is very important for me as I'm traveling with baby and need to cook her meals. Located near town and next to general hospital. One thing that I don't quite like is their limited parking lots. Some of the lots are sharing and can only be used after working hours.
We could not fault this hotel, just a couple of blocks away from the CBD but "who doesn't need the exercise, hahaha" The check-in was so friendly and welcoming, the manager needs to see who was on duty and haul them out for a "very special" thanks. In the chatter with the young lass, I didn't take the time to ask or look at her name tag, but she was so very warm and welcoming, she needs a special bonus. The room might have done with a little bit more space, but who really needs it for one night. I told the lass we usually stay at the opposition (Grand Chancellor) but would and will certainly return to Mantra Charles.
Great stay in Launceston and at Mantra Charles”
We booked the King Studio at the Mantra Charles in May 2016 and stayed for two nights as we explored Launceston. We were fortunate to be able to check in early as we had flown in from Melbourne in the morning. The hotel has ample parking if you are driving but you will need a permit from the front desk. The room size is reasonable and the bed was comfortable. There is a coin operated washing facility (washer and dryer) and a washing detergent dispenser if you need to do your laundry. The location of the hotel is beside a hospital but it did not affect our sleep as we did not hear any sirens in the middle of the night. I gave the hotel an excellent rating as I was impressed by the service of its staff. I had forgotten my watch (which was a birthday gift) when we left the hotel and emailed the hotel. Within a day they got back to me and told me that my watch was found. They then arranged to courier it to Hobart and had me reunited with my watch. Thank you everyone at Mantra Charles! What we liked: 1) location which is conveniently located at Charles St 2) free parking 3) comfortable room 4) laundry facility What we disliked: 1) dark corridors as they use energy saving lights We would recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Launceston.
Good location. Friendly and attentive staff”
Right next to the General Hospital, easy access to Free Tiger bus. Walking distance to City Center, Cataract Gorge and other restaurants. Staff were very courteous, friendly, attentive. There is a self service laundry machine on third floor.
Funky renovation, close to the city sights”
cant fault this place for the money, . we had a combined work/family weekend and it was a godsend after a long days drive. only a 10 minute walk to the center of the city with a few nice bars and restaurants on the way. staff were helpful as well. cheers
brand new and neat as a pin”
Fantastic new hotel less than two years old, not too far from the city only 10mins by taxi. spacious rooms with neat and clean bathroom and fantastic shower. cable tv with movie option is great for lazy night in
Blanket is awful”
The blanket is awful with the stain like women’s menstruation. I wondered whether the blankets were changed before we came after it’s used by others staying in the same room. This is really awful. The car park is always full, but better than no car park. The room looks so much older than the pics shown.
Dear Vong, Gosh! This is certainly not the impression that our high standards of cleanliness that we like our guests to have confidence in. Whilst I can assure you the stain was less sinister than described we take all shortfalls seriously and have followed up accordingly. Car parking is free at the hotel, and generally sufficient to accommodate all, it can get a little tight on some days but we can always find a spot. Thanks again the feedback and sorry it wasn't the stay we hoped you would have had. Regards, Paul Seaman General Manager
The best experience ”
The hotel is so clean and warm. Staffs are very friendly and offer help at alltime. Restaurant is amazing. Plus the view from our room is spectacular. Have been to many hotels but never as good as this time. Thank you for making our holidays perfect.
Hotel with view”
The main reason I booked the hotel is for the view but they ran out of higher floor rooms so please indicate your request prior to booking. Location is great if you want to go to Cacteract Gorge.
Dear Panny, Thank you for staying with us and providing the feedback. We do apologies that we were unable to organize a room on the higher floor on this occasion. Looking forward to an opportunity to welcome you back Warmest regards, Steve Tan Rooms Division Manager
Decent Hotel ”
A decent hotel, but OK for what would be a normal 3-4 star $130 a night hotel. Unfortunately we were price-gouged during that period in-between Christmas and New year. I guess we have to expect that, but it certainly meant it became terrible value for money as we paid $450 for 2 nights in a 3-4 star hotel in Launceston.
Clean, professional to stay. But BYO pillow. Highly recommended!”
Bathroom was clean, room was clean but pillows were awful. No neck support, may as well slept with no pillows. We arrived to a lovely card from the manager which was a friendly touch. Staff excellent, breakfast great! Really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Mantra!
Will stay again!”
Mantra Charle Hotel will be the hotel I stay at on my next visit in Launceston. The staff were fully accommodating, the room was always cleaned thoroughly and had a very pleasant vibe across the entire stay. The only improvement I could suggest would be for the WiFi to be free to access for guests, most good hotels accommodate for this.
Need to provide more functional kitchen and better coffee ”
The kitchen facility in my room was comparable to a motel with bar fridge, 2 cups, 2 tea spoons, 2 glasses no microwave no sink. I couldn't prepare a quick meal for myself when i was busy. Although the restaurant food there was good, i stayed there for more than a week so run out of food to tried. The location was pretty good, Launceston city is just down the road (10 to 15 minutes walk).
Excellent location, excellent staff, excellent room”
Very central, looks to have been recently refurbished. The rooms are very comfortable and pretty quiet. All of the staff were excellent. Our only complaint was that there were very limited car parking spaces designated for the hotel. Fortunately we were there on a weekend so we could park in the business car parks, but during the week it may be a different story.
Clean, comfortable and great location”
The location was terrific - a stones throw from restaurants and cafes and a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were warm and friendly. Couldn't fault my stay and would recommend it as a great place to stay.
Nice Clean Hotel”
Booked the hotel at last minute. The room was nice and clean, better than what I expected. Despite the bathroom lock was broken and my friend's toiletry was locked inside for the whole night, luckily we booked a twin room and someone came in the morning to fix it.
Ordinary large room. expensive for what you get.”
The hotel is fresh and new. The staff were OK and the food pricey but OK. I felt like a was staying in hospital. The bathroom holding rails everywhere and while plenty of space the fixtures were functional and odious. The bed was 2 single beds joined together, sinking on the sides. So not a good nights sleep. The room was clean. A table would have been a good addition.
The only place to stay in Launceston”
This is my jewel in the crown for Launceston, as a regular traveller i have tried many hotels in Launceston and by far this is the best. comfy beds , modern rooms , superb food ( I had breakfast and dinner in the hotel) I am very impressed and will be back.
