Very aged room. Not the cleanest. Hair on bed. Very dusty curtains. Toilets old old old”
Too aged n old for the price. Location is excellent. Corridors n lobby is ok. Room n toilet feels like the 80's. i have seen better mantra hotels
Very disappointing hotel with the Mantra Brand. Old tired furniture and balcony and windows full of cobwebs. We choose this hotel because of the pool - however the door entry mechanism was broken and indoor pool looked grotty so never got to use it. Needs a update or refurbishment so would not recommend for the price range at all.
Close to city centre, minutes walk to restaurants and shopping centre. Spacious room, comfortable bed. The only thing caught me out of surprise is business of their carpark, especially on the weekend, even though you are a hotel guess you still need to pay for the parking, which cost $15 per night.
Dirty and Dated”
The hotel is in a great location , the staff were helpful and lovely . The rooms were dusty , dirty and dated . There where marks all over the walls and doors the floor in the bathroom was dirty and dusty . There was mould in the grout . The kitchen draws had food crumbs in them . The roll away beds were extremely uncomfortable the kids had springs in their backs . The quilts had stains all over them . The sofa bed was on a 75 degree angle when pulled out . The traffic noise kept us awake all night . Although the staff were helpful in finding us a new room they were all pretty much the same . Not worth the money and in need of some love .
Overall satisfied with my choice for stay in Canberra”
Large size room with kitchenette and living area. There are ample parking at the basement. The hotel is near the city centre and walking distance away. I am satisfied with my choice.
The only comments I would make is that upon arrival, although I had booked and paid for a 5 night stay, the receptionist greeted me with "so you are staying with us for 4 nights" for which I corrected her and confirmed it was 5 nights and that I had paid for nights. On day 5, when returning back after work, I was locked out of my room. I had also booked in for breakfast for each morning and on the last day, no booking was made and they wanted to charge me the full breakfast rate. I think the locked room and breakfast booking had to do with the fact that she originally thought that I was staying 4 nights. Also make enquiries as to the types of breakfast they offer in the restaurant. They advised of the full buffet breakfast at a discounted price if booked in advance and then on the last day when no booking was made, I was advised there was a hot meal breakfast at a more reduced rate which is what I was eating each day anyway and paying more for the other breakfast options.
Short stay in Canberra”
The hotel was in a perfect position for visiting the cultural places of interest. The staff were very welcoming and efficient and the room was spacious and modern. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and slept soundly in an extremely comfortable and spacious bed.
Very enjoyable, staff are fantastic”
We loved our stay at Mantra on Northbourne! The staff are all really friendly & easy to deal with, especially "Casual Clare" in the restaurant :) The hotel is within walking distance of the CBD and SO many restaurants & cafes. Canberra is a great place to visit with lots to see & do & I especially recommend doing the City Explorer double-decker bus tour. The rooms and KS bed are comfortable which is most important however they are becoming a little aged and in some need of minor repairs.
Great all-round hotel, close to everything”
We were really happy with the Mantra on Northbourne, especially as we got a fabulous price with only a week's notice. The room was great, love the large TV & Foxtel & very comfortable bed but the bathroom was a little dated - not a fan of the shower-over-the-bath! Restaurant had a great selection of wines & some really nice food - staff there were also very good. Would stay there again.
Loved our stay at Mantra, highly recommended”
We loved our stay at the Mantra on Northbourne Hotel because we had a very good experience. The reception staff were very attentive and friendly. The room was big and clean. The hotel was centrally located in Canberra. The dinner menu at the Zip Restaurant could be improved though.
I love this hotel bcoz it is good for money and have all I expected such as location, staff, room space, clean, gym and swimming pool, walking distance to interesting places, I enjoy staying in it and hope to come back agian soon
Not what I expected”
We booked a family room for 1 night with displayed a 50% discount and the only silver lining was that I did not book it for the full amount. The parking is paid, not totally clear while booking, the pool is closed for renovation, breakfast is very ordinary, the rooms are old and you could see dirt all around. The bedding is super uncomfortable especially the extra bed. You will surely wake up from back pain. I will not be returning for sure.
Poor in room bath/shower facilities. Lots of space badly used with over (small) bath shower and lack of hot water to soak. Generally bathroom in need of refreshing, for example water damage on doors... Very expensive / disappointing for a one night stay
If you get a good price for this hotel, take it. Best hotel in Canberra.
In general the accomodation was great. But there is no free water available and if we need to use wifi there will be additional charge.
Found Cut nails on the floor, they don't clean the rooms everyday.. water tap makes noises and kept on waking my son..
Dining room staff”
The young fella who was in the breakfast room at 08.30am and still there for dinner at 9.30pm was a champ. Apparently he doesn't even get paid overtime. I'd be making sure this bloke is taken care of or he'll be snaffled by a bigger chain who'll pay him what he's worth.
Air con needs repair”
Lovely stay apart from freezing at night as we could not regulate the temp in the room. Staff were amazing and food ( breakfast buffet) wonderful with a well selected choice of meal. Will return on our next visit.
One very happy traveler”
We'd like to say a big thank you to the staff at Mantra on Northbourne for making our stay very confutable even our local friends were very impressed with the price and quality of the hotel room!! We'll be back
other than the fire alarm going off on the day we were checking out it was a lovely stay. The pillows however were terrible, I hunted for a firmer flatter one that I found in the wardrobe the next day. I suffer from PTSD and the alarm did trigger some anxiety, however, i am glad no chances were taken and the right thing was done. Lovely support too from the desk male help with the packing of the car.
