I think the owner does not think about how difficult it is for customers to actually reach (down) their doorstep. From the highway, you'll get off of a restaurant and look for an 'eskinita'(one-man at a time) leading you to the hotel. The pathway is almost non-existent, what left of it is super slippery when wet and it's downhill. The pathway - there are times when rain water was stuck so you have to to do an obstacle course going down. Imagine doing it with your luggage. It's a safety a hazard and it's unacceptable even for this hotel's rating. The location is good, sunrise and sunset are enjoyable if you are like us who beach bums a lot. It's a beachfront property but the beach is not 'swimmable' . The shore is dirty. The room is ok - you get what you pay for.
Great Value, Best Staff!”
Their staff is the best so far I've ever encountered in El Nido. Breakfast is good, though selections could be improved. Although room wasnt cleaned on my 4 nights stay, still okay. Bathroom is nice especially the hot water and the presence of bidet spray.
•The place is secluded but the view of the sea is nice and tranquil. •The beach however is not suitable for swimming: rocky and strong waves. •Friendly and accommodating staff. Front desk should be frequented, especially if guests are within the area. •There are dogs staying in the area and are not a threat. This is a fact. •Room is adequate; bathroom needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Also, the room is well lit and cool.
Highly recommended place to stay in El Nido, Corong Corong Beach area”
Highly recommended place to stay in El Nido. We had a great and relaxing stay at this place. Friendly and accomodating staff. The owner is very kind for upgrading us to a deluxe room. Beachfront accommodation with a very nice view of the sunset. You could also rent a kayak for only 100 pesos per hour. Nearby the market, restaurant, and convenience store.
Dont stay here.”
They should call this place the last resort because we would only ever stay here again if there were no other options. Dont be fooled by the nice photos. Its half as good as the photos or worse. The well water for showers stunk like sewer water, definitely bring bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. We avoided showering because the water either burns you or there is no heat and it stunk so bad. Staff was really rude and didnt clean the room once. I had to ask for toilet paper and towels every time we needed them. The place offers free breakfast but they only asked us what we wanted one time. This place is not woth saving a extra dollar or so. Pay the extra for something a little nicer. The girl who runs the establishment inherited the place and seems to not give a darn. Other than that. It's a decent location literally right on the beach and a 5 min tricycle ride to downtown for 50 php.
Highly recommended for budget travelers”
I stayed with my cousin, the place is beach front Corong Corong beach. The room is very clean. The staffs are very accommodating. They even let us use their public bath and left our baggage in the information desk even after we checked out. They helped us book our van transfer to puerto princesa. Highly recommended!
Very nice place to stay in El Nido. Staff very helpfull, room very clean, fresh painting, near to the market and the terminal by foot, near to downton (50 pesos), near to Las Cabanas beach (80 pesos max you can deal). Wifi doesn't work, no breakfast, a little bit expensive for the price but it's a place to stay
Hi miss anne, we very much thank you for your good comment we didnt expect for your very nice appreciation, hope to see you again.
Great value, fresh coconuts for 30 p and very clean. No complaints”
Amazing value for money. Kind of next to sum really rough houses. So it's nothing for luxury travelers I suspect. Nice stuff. My room was very clean. AC worked just fine. Nice location at the beach and only short drive with the tricycle to the main tourist area for 40p. Highly recommend for budget travelers. You can also get a fresh coconut from the trees for 30p
We were group of friends travelling and not really into crowded places, so we appreciated that it's a bit far from the El Nido main beach/bayan. What we really like is the beach front ambiance of our cabana, especially when we had breakfast facing the sea.
Comparing to others place especially at the town the price of this one is not worth it
Nice place and cheap ”
1. Landlord too busy. I can’t find him for ask anything. 2. So close beach, the view so nice. 3. In the midnight, have people knocking my door and eating cookies outside, I can listen, make me so scared. But finally nothing bad happened to me. 4.if you want save money, Mina hotel is very nice for you.
nice, close to beach ”
Nice place, reception mostly closed and bed bugs. I know beach room are more susceptible to get, so we did get eaten for 2 nights... But nice location on the beach, WiFi ok, staff friendly when they are there.
Thank you for your comment and concerns. We make more comfortable to our guest.
When I arrived, I was made to stay at a 2-storey building which I think was not exactly what I booked for. When I entered the room, there was no toilet paper and no trash can inside the room. When I checked out, no staff was within reach!!! So I left my key on the table in the shed which served as their outdoor lobby. I suggest you stay at the town proper so that everything is within reach and you aren't limited with the time. As for me, I had to go home by 10PM due to lack of public transpo/tricycles to take me back here. I stayed here for the beach but it was so-so.
Economical and awesome staff and owner”
We arrived late at night around 10.30pm from puerto princesa. Sir ronald and the staff accommodated us despite the late arrival. On the next day check out time was supposed to be 1pm and we informed sir ronald that we will check out early since our island hopping ends in the afternoon and we only booked for 1 night since we were going back to puerto princesa right after the island hopping. Sir ronald was soooo nice that he told us to just leave oue thibgs behind and just come back after our island hopping to take a bath before going baxk to puerto princesa. I would really recommend the place. It's near the starting point of the island hopping around 3 minute walk. You can also relax early in the morning or in the evening while listeing to the waves. The staff are very accommodating. Very economical as well. I'm glad i chose mina grande.
Kind hotel owner”
the owner of the resort was very kind and accomodating, i book our hotel april 23-24 which is supposed to be 22-23, but the owner of the resort took ownership of my wrong booking date and adjust for our own accomodation. he even let our things stay until we get back from our tour in the afternoon for us to change and take a bath with out any additional cost of our stay.
Worth for its value”
Pros - cheap, with beach front, near the road, easy to locate. Surprisingly with bidette. Wifi works most of the time. Staffs are friendly. They also would help you get cheap tours. Cons - (remember booking cheap you must be open to imperfections) the room smells old (like old wooden closets) but you'll get use to it. cr smells at times but its bearble because of the sewage system. Its rural, dont expect too much. Just open the window and close the cr door so it wont get in your room. You should know. No hot shower ( who would need a hot shower on a hot tropocal weather). There is a usual power outage in the area daily. Bear with it and dont take it againts the hotel. Other Hotels/resorts at least 5x the price of this hotel serves generators. Water was clean and ok, not like what others have mentioned to their reviews. Although, its beach front, you cant swim in the area. Its rocky and slimy.
Beach Side but Far from the Town”
Well, its a little bit far from the main populated area of El Nido. You need to walk at least 20 minutes. But you can also ride a tricycle worth Php 10 pesos only going to downtown. Wifi is not working. Staff are too slow to respond. I will not go back here anymore.
