Great place, beatiful and quiet. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The employees did everything they could to help us planning our trip. I really recommend this place even if it’s a little bit far from the center of Sihanoukville (which is also a good thing)
Great place and very well priced ”
Only had the chance to stay here 1 night as was booked out for the following few days. Lovely clean big rooms with English Channel on telly , comfy beds and very helpful staff. Has a restaurant on site that cooks stonebaked pizzas and amazing soundtracks- very ambient
Nice place to stay in a not nice city”
The place has recently changed ownership, new name is Port Hedonia. The staff are all super friendly. The room is basic, clean and good. The food is fine. The pool is nice. They even let us store our motorbike and luggage there while we went to Koh Rong. So, no real complaints at all. One downside to staying there is it is up a big hill... this means that getting transportation down into the town is a minimum of $8 each way, which is absurd. This speaks to the way that the whole town is moving. You can turn this around for a positive... at least you are further away from an ugly city.
Great Staff and Secluded”
Tucked away from all the disgustingness of Sihanoukville, Pagoda is like a little oasis. Its great for families and people that would like to relax and do nothing for they vacation. It is under new ownership and going through a to of upgrades that look great! The staff is super friendly. The owner served us all night at the bar/restaurant and we had a great time! We were only there for one short night before the islands but I would recommend it to families and very low key travelers
Passable but nothing special”
Older property at an inconvenient location. Large room but relatively poor facilities. You get your own separate house. Mosquitoes. Doesn’t come with breakfast like the rest of Cambodia. I was asked if I stayed at the hotel when I returned to the hotel. Although security is not any worse than any other place (due to terrible frontage and rickety entry path), it is rude to ask guests if they belonged. Would stay elsewhere. Would not return. Not sure if other guests truly enjoyed their stay here although better than many other Otres “hotels.” For one night, with no expectations, go for this if no better choices.
Incredible place in a dump-city! A piece of paradise away from the noisy sihanouk. ”
Amazing place, big and high bungalow, large balcony on each. They was really helpfull, my husband get a teeth problem and they went down to the city to take medecine for him. Really good service. Free shuttle also to the pear, cool. The only bad things is maybe about the food... Exemple : for the soup they put the vegetable in pieces in hot water. They didn t smash it. But good breakfast ! I truly recommend the stay, as i am not used to post a comment for a hostel.
The best place to stay in Sihanoukville.”
We stayed at Pagoda Rocks for a week and we loved our stay. Our bungalow was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Every day after some pool time, we adjourned to the balcony. We had a great view and had the birds to listen to. Look out for the four comical turkeys too! We ate at the restaurant every night and there was plenty to choose from - Cambodian, Thai and Western fare. Excellent wine too. The breakfasts are generous and all tastes are catered for. The staff are all lovely and very hospitable. The location makes this the ideal place to stay as you are a short tuktuk drive outside of the town so kept apart from the backpacker crowd.
An amazing, tranquil place to stay”
Such a beautiful resort to stay at, I was very happy with Pagoda Rocks. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was amazing, the pool was great and it is a quiet location. Although it is a little out of town, this hotel offers everything and more. I am very glad I stayed here and hope to return.
Quiet, away from everything”
The hotel can be a little hard to find for the first time. It is located away from the town on top of the mountain or hill that overlooks the ocean and town. Very nice hotel that offers a beautiful pool area and view. If you want peace and quiet this place is great. If you want to be near bars and nightlife then this is not for you. The hotel will rent you a motorbike.
Escape the seediness and enjoy the serenity!!”
almost too small to be called a resort, this lovely boutique hotel atop a hill is the perfect opposite to the seedy sleaze that frequents much of town. situated next to a wat, overlooking the sea, 9 rooms dot the hillside accompanied by a horizon pool and food to die for! would have loved to stay longer...
Oasis On The Hill (Great Value)”
Pros: Very nice staff, well kept property, great view , nice pool, quiet and tropical setting. Owners show only pride in the property. Cons: 5 minutes away from down town up a hill. Hotel can supply driver for small fee. A little more then a tuk tuk driver. Considering the price I consider it a steal. The bungalows any where else in the world will go at over 100 a day.
Loved everything about it”
This place is really something special. So if you're looking for an experience this is the place. The beuatiful setting on the mountain gives you this jungle-ish feeling and you feel like you can relax up there. The bungalows are cozy, clean and spaceious and smells like fresh lemongrass after housekeeping have been there, The pool is very nice and the view is just amazing. The staff is just amazing and the owner is super friendly and helpful! This is definately a place we will remember! / Vicky & Daniel (we're there in december 2017)
We were a little skeptical before our stay based on previous reviews and our taxi driver from the airport asking us why we booked a hotel "so far" from the city centre -- but, we can confidently say that we had a great time staying at this hotel, soon to be publicly named "Port Hedonia." Now under new management, we enjoyed our stay in the AC bungalows, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying breakfast, dinner, and a happy hour in the communal lounge area, playing cards. Yes, the bungalows are up the highest hill in town and it is a drive to the city centre, but if the busy part of Sihanoukville isn't a necessity to your stay, we would def recommend relaxing here.
Lovely place away from the craziness of the city centre”
Lovely little place up in the hills. Room is spacious and clean. Getting to the location can be a bit of an issue as it is located up in the hills and tuktuks struggle to make their way up. Food and drink selection at the resort is affordable and tasty. Staff is always friendly and willing to help with your requests.
Great resort, clean but staff/service need improvement”
Pretty good location on top the highest peak in Sihanoukville, clean n beautiful swimming pool n atmosphere. Although a bit far, we decided to stay at the hotel n order food, but staff said dinner is not available to offer, we had to drove down from the mountain to eat in the city center. Staff are somewhat need improvement on how provide better service both when guests arrive n depart, poor response upon certain requests. Overal great place to stay, despite poor service.
Peaceful, value for money”
We stayed with 3 adults and three kids age 7-11. We booked three rooms but two would have been enough. The rooms are seperate houses, large and clean with comfortable big beds and functioning aircon. They serve good food with large portions. Not on the beach so you need a car, but much more peaceful and relaxing than the beach places and costs much less than the overpriced Otrez hotels. Nice view over Sihanoukville from the pool area.
Very relaxing, beautiful surrounding”
Our favourite hotel in Sihanoukville by far! Our kids love playing in the garden and terrasse. The staff are very accomodating and helpful. The restaurant's menu could be improved, particularly the breakfast menu, although everything we tried was excellent. It is not on the beach, but on after a very hot day on the beach with young children, it feels wonderful to retreat to our quiet hill bungalow, enjoy the view and swim in the very cool infinity pool. Very good priced restaurant and bar (for example, a beer for $1.25 and main courses starting around $5), lovely lounge and terrasse.
A good resort hotel on the hill top.”
Our family had a good stay at Pagoda Rocks except the family room is not tightly close at the window in the living area thus making our family room into a mini insect area and mosquitoes. We stayed in the normal room for 2 during our holiday in March 2013 but do not have this insects problem as it was tightly close on all doors and windows. We believe the living room has gaps at the window probably due to no air-con in the living room except a ceiling fan.
I had a good and relax time here”
This is for those who arrive Sihanouk at night time, you should contact or book transportation from the resort to pick you up at the bus station. We arrived at 10pm, at first the tuk tuk driver said he knew the place and would take us there after we have dinner, but actually he did not, he took us to the wrong place. Then he refused to take us to the resort because it was too late at night, and he said it is dangerous to go there, he was afraid of thieves and be killed :(. We tried to called to the resort, the number as given by agoda, but it didn't work ... During the time we tried to call for taxi and negotiated, there was a motobike driver agreed to go with us, he was leading, and the tuk tuk followed. The road to get there was dangerous because there was no street lights and also it is far up to the hill from where we were.... Except for the scary trip at night we had a good time in the resort. It is worth staying.
surrounded by nature and calmness”
The hotel was a great choice, its located on a mountain far far away from the city. Since we did not liked Sihanoukville at all this place was the best place to stay. We enjoyed the basic interior of the hotel , it felt more like it was a bread and breakfast , with little cottages . I would deffinately not name the hotel boutique hotel _ it is not. The only part which is a bit boutique is the swimming pool but other than that its very very basic. The great thing about Pagoda is that you are surrounded by great treas, flowers and animals. Its close to a temple that you can visit and has a view on the city. Its important to know that upon arrival you will need to get a cab or a tuk tuk with a stronger motor , since the hotel is on a hill a regular tuk tuk can not reach the hotel. In fact our tuk tuk needed to be pushed up the hill lol. He also took another road, one with a less steep hill to reach the hotel, we were surprised how far the hotel was from the center. Later on we understood by car it was just 10 min away. On your ride to the hotel you will pass very poor areas .So if you are looking for something fancy this is not your hotel if however you are ok with a very basic room and being surrounded by nature and away from all the noise _this place is a diamond. The breakfast was good but very tiny portions. The service is good however in the beginning you might think the staff does not understand your request since they do not really answer or nod back, but I think this is just a cultural thing. The transport to the city is perfect. We enjoyed the swimming pool the first day but the second day when a fam with kids arrived , it was over ! So we ended up at Otres beach every day. The food at the restaurant; their amok is one of the best I ever ate, also the loklak is good, however not a lot of choice if you want to eat khemer food. I really don’t feel like eating pizza and steak etc when im abroad I can eat that all year around. I really did not liked the menu and
