Great expectations, great disappointments”
I was extremely excited when we booked a staycation at Shangri-La at the Fort during the Holy Week. I greatly anticipated it because of my respect and admiration for the Shangri-La brand and reputation. I've had previous experiences with Shangri-La in the past in terms of banquet, events, and dining but it was my first time to experience Shang's accommodation with our recent booking. Hence, I was agog over it. However, upon check-in and actual stay, my earlier excitement slowly turned into despair and frustration. Took two hours before we could be checked in, no extra pillows available, and initial refusal to grant a late check-out. Felt no empathy, saw no initiative to be proactive. My love for Shang has faded.
It was a good stay but once was enough”
First time to stay at this Shangri La hotel and might probably be the last. The room was great but somehow flies got in and would be buzzing in my ear while sleeping. I'm not the type to complain since they were gracious enough to accomodate our early arrival plus we were only staying for one night anyway. I still think it might be worth looking into why insects got inside the hotel.

ten out of ten.. its really nice... the service is exceptional and the location... if there is one thing i would ask them to fix its their food... I am not that happy with the taste and the variety... but it would not affect y choice to stay with shangri-la fort again

This is the 2nd time we've stayed in Shangri-La Fort. All in all, our stay had the same quality as we had last year and it was as good as before. I really think everyone has said enough glowing praises. There was just one glaring difference which was a quality of ingredients in the food. We normally order room service and the most noticeable was the clubhouse sandwich. The sandwich before used a nice crusty sourdough bread, so you can imagine our surprise when our order came and we got a sandwich with a plain white (most possibly) store bought commercial bread. Such a shame as that sourdough bread was lovely and it such a big difference from the current iteration. And now that I think about it, there was just more duds in the room service food this time than last year. Don't get me wrong, service was impeccable, but food quality has become a hit or miss.
We loved our stay here! The gym is amazing - they even have free classes like yoga, pound, etc. Will definitely book here again the next time my family wants a staycation.

Well everything else is great except that we were advised that bfast buffet is at 6am-10.30am. Went to have breakfast at 5mts before 10am only to find out that buffet is about to close and food plates are almost empty. Please make sure customers are informed with the right information to avoid conflict.
I found the management or front office to be somewhat rude. now, the housekeeping or waitstaff were completely awesome. But my experience soured as soon as I arrived. the hotel itself was nice, clean and new. the food I ordered through room service was very good. I hope this is somewhat helpful. oh, I also stayed at the Shangri La in Cebu on this trip and they were so great there and the steam room was the nicest I have ever used..

Place is so beautiful and new, yet it lucks the balance of nature and humanity, it's more of luxury. Not so relaxing to stay since it's so Urban feel,,,, maybe they can also try to make it calming by putting some greens and water falls around the hotel to make it more relaxing and calming.

When I checked, your staff was kind enough to offer me a upgrade with a fee. It was the best decision ever. The room was perfect. Some minor suggestions. Pls include a bidet and if ever check on the fixtures of the bathroom especially in the bath tub. I would like to book again if ever.
Smelly pillows and sheets”
if i could just send some pictures. i am currently checked-in now in a horizon deluxe room (4013 to be exact) and the beddings even the pillows are foul and very smelly. i noticed it when i smelled my 6mths old baby, looked where the stinky odor came just to found out it was the pillow she was using -of course as a mom i would really want to find where it came from and there. it’s 4am now and its too late to call the room service to change the beddings, i just put towels just to make it through until the sunrises. i can’t sleep now. my poor baby :( i am very disappointed. (i called room service and told to send someone by 6:30am, they could tell)

On the 1st day while I was resting in the bed it’s impossible to sleep there’s this irritating hammering noise from the next door room. I was right! they’re doing preventive maintenance but why they can’t make it stop till 5pm. Why they don’t read my request every time I checked in The Fort. That evening I cried of frustration that I didn’t get my needed rest for my next day BIOPSY TEST. On the 2nd day morning, Jinnah approached us and offered us new keys to our new Suite room. We were upgraded as an apology. Thank you Jinnah for reaching out, Joy for always making our meals at Hight Street memorable and JC for the best chicken noodles.
For me, it was the amazing customer service that was consistent from all the staff from the moment you walk in to the time you check out. Amazing! It’s these small things that makes up the experience. A big bonus was the hotel itself
Everything went smooth from start to finish. Check in was fast and efficient and friendly. Room was lovely, spacious, big window to view the city, has everything we needed, toilet and bath was impeccable, and the bed was perfect; if there’s any thing I can complain of was that some drawers were not functioning—gotta be changed to soft-close drawers! Buffet breakfast was yum, had good selection, though their coffee needed improvement; for food that delicious, it needs to be matched with really good, strong coffee. As for the facilities, there are 2 swimming pools, but not impressive. Gym is huge. And adventure zone for kids is not free, comes with a fee. Check out was fast. All in all, we had a lovely time.
Luxurious stay at the heart of BGC”
We love going to Shang the Fort because of its convenient location and excellent facilities. We especially love Kerry Sports — one of the best gyms we’ve been to! Definitely recommend if you fancy a bit of luxurious stay.
Excellent service started as you stepped out of your car. Friendly young staff and very pleasant.
As a 5-star hotel, Shangri-la at the Fort delivers for the most part. Our room was everything as we expected: luxurious and peaceful. We were slightly put off by the musty smell when we first entered the room upon check-in, as if it hadn't been aired out properly. Surprisingly, the toilet didn't have a bidet (lol). Nevertheless, overall a good experience!
everything is almost perfect but I am quite disappointed. I made an earlier booking and payment nobody informs me that I should confirm to join the countdown even on the December 31 eves. when I asked them they told me that they cannot accommodate us anymore. :-(
