A hidden gem - a stones throw away from Old Town”
We spent the last 5 nights of a 3 week stay in Hoi An at the Green House Villa. Firstly, let me say this villa is very new & a real find. It's owned by a family that live next door and is in a quiet hamlet about 1.5km out of Old Town. It is off the tourist track so the taxi drivers (and most of the locals) have no idea it's there. (Say you want to go to the Betel Garden homestay and direct after there) If you are after a place that is authentic & where you don't hear the honking of horns all day (& half way into the night) this it perfect. The villa has a large lounge room downstairs, complete with a big T.V & surround sound. It has 2 rooms, one upstairs & one downstairs. We had the room downstairs. Initially we had a problem with our room having a very strong smell of smoke & were resigned to having to move. The owners were genuinely concerned and rescrubbed our room and did their best to fix things. On our first night the couple staying upstairs watched an action movie that we could hear in our room - so I can see that, if you had the wrong fellow guests, it could be a bit noisy. Yet the next 4 nights were delightfully quiet and we fell in love with the setting as much as the lovely family next door. This is our 2nd year visiting Hoi An and we plan to return to this very special place. The breakfasts are simple yet quite adequate. For us it was a chance to sample traditional Vietnamese breakfasts. For the price you can easily go for a Western breakfast at any one of the many eats in Old Town. A taxi into town is $2 and to An Bang Beach (the local's beach) is about $5. Or hire their bikes if you're feeling energetic. The price of beer, wine & water etc is very fair, so there is little need to shop in town. It felt like visiting great friends. I have no doubt others following us will find The Green House Villa a hidden treasure just as we did. Thank you so much, we look forward to coming again!!

Great Homestay, can't beat the price!”
There is a large variety of accommodation available in Hoi Ann, an generally you get what you pay for. This is not the case at Jackfruit. It is exceptional value for money. Only two rooms, so we booked both for the family - two comfortable double rooms, and we had the place to ourselves. All facilities, wifi, breakfast included, bikes available (not far from town). Our hosts where most helpful. If you are looking for alternative accommodation at a ridiculously cheap price, you can't go passed Jackfruit. I wish them the best with there homestay. Would certainly return.

Good Value for Money - Very Nice Family”
Five of us stayed at Jackfruit Homestay recently for a few days. It's just outside of the main part of Hoi An making it a little more peaceful but also harder to get to things. The rooms were clean enough, the beds were comfortable, the internet worked well, and our hosts were great. It took us about 25 minutes to walk to the Old Town of Hoi An. They have bicycles you can rent on a daily basis which make getting everywhere really fun and easy. Tu, our main host, was a great resource for advice and a great cook too! You're in someone's home so it doesn't have a pool, gym, concierge desk, etc. but you're also not paying for it. We enjoyed our stay here.

Great homestay, very helpful and accomodating”
Enjoyed our stay here at Jackfruit. The home owners were very helpful and friendly, arranged for us to check in early, provided us with towells after our long journey and organised a scooter to hire. They had plenty of information on tours/activites/recommendations.

Great vibe, Great Staff, Yummy Breakfast”
Great vibe, Great Staff, Yummy Breakfast. I really liked the manager Thu who also cooks. The place is super chill. There are too many options in Hoi An... it's good to pick a really inexpensive place with clean sheets, and super kind staff members. Relaxing and Simple. I'll be back in October when I visit again.

Nice homestay with good price”
we came to this homestay during the storm, it was little bit hard to find it coz noone knows how to drive there. next day we rented bikes there which were also not good old and broken. rest was good especially breakfast. If you want to live away from the center this homestay is the best choice

Nice room, but slightly remote”
The rooms are modern, simple and clean, the breakfast great and the staff (?) friendly and helpful. We were there in the rainy season and the room smelled damp when we first arrived. We used the laundry service and during our three day stay the clothes didn't fully dry because of the dampness. The location of the homestay is somewhat remote and not known. The first taxi driver first refused to take us there, then it took him twenty minutes to find the place by going all the way through that neighbourhood. It's a nice 20 minutes walk to the town center along the river. But again - during our stay it was rainy season, so when it was pouring we had to take a taxi and most of the time explain the way to the homestay. Next time we would choose an accomodation closer to town. What appealed to us when we booked the room in the homestay was that you had contact to a local family and could participate in their activities. Previous guests have had great experience with that. We only saw parts the family/staff for breakfast. When we returned in the evening /late afternoon we didn't see or hear anybody. And when our airport shuttle in the morning was over 20 minutes late there was no one on the house to help us or make a phone call for us. It seems that the family lives somewhere else. So basically for us this place was okay but felt like a hostel rather than a homestay.

Quietly located homestay with comfort and helpful ”
A quietly located Villa (homestay) at about 1.5km to the city center. We just always took a taxi (2usd). Bikes are for rent (2 bikes, 2usd) and the owner goes early on the motorbike to the city center to provide you a fresh breakfast of the local specialty: Cao Lau, delicious. Great value for money. Wifi; 3 dots in public area, 1 dot at your room.

Friendly, genuine Homestay”
We had a wonderful stay. Our children felt very safe and comfortable. Lovely quiet area away from crowds but still easy biking distance to main centre. Bikes had seats at the back for kids. Excellent, delicious breakfasts included in the price. And always variety depending on your preferences. We liked the noodle breakfasts with peanut sauce and fresh fruit on the side - yum! Didn't want to leave!

Fantastic, a whole villa to yourself”
Fantastic. We had a whole villa to ourselves with a living room, and upstairs ensuite bedroom. The family did stay in the downstairs bedroom but only because this room wasn't booked and we barely noticed their presence. In the mornings, the owner's husband would cook us breakfast, which was always good, or sometime, when we got out of bed around noon he'd be prepared and cook us lunch instead. Fantastic people, five dollars a day for a scooter. They don't speak very good English, the owner's husband actually doesn't speak a word but he still took us out to a local pub to watch the Machester United game when he saw my husband's Man United top.

Quiet place out of the fray”
A very pleasant stay. There are only two rooms and our group of three was able to book both of them. This was fantastic because it meant we got the whole house to ourselves. The house is a bit out of the way but a pleasant walk or short and cheap taxi ride. It's also doesn't have an exact address so it's a little hard to find but if you say 'Betel Garden' then you'll be able to direct a taxi from there. The family was very helpful and extremely welcoming and kind.

Peaceful Jackfruit”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and extended my initial booking by 2 days. Breakfast is cooked fresh at whatever time you get up and alternates each day between banana pancake and fried eggs. Free water refills available. Great shower, as I mentioned above, the best in 6 weeks travelling in Vietnam, and a friendly family atmosphere. I'd definitely stay there again

Not good at all”
You shouldn't book this homestay. From the living room where we met the receptionist, the table and the floor is too dirty like they don't clean it for a long time.

Would not recommend to friends”
The pictures were not very accurate, Tiny little kitchen, and the window to our room faced right into a wall of another house. Booked 8 days, then moved out , they charged us the full amount.
