pretty budget hostel in good district , with calm athmosphere ”
Very easy to reach this hostel if to know this one is located opposite metro station exit (sortie). There is no need to ask. Otherwise you can miss it. Corner brassery "Barbès" is the main place to orient oneself and to take a cup of tasty espresso. If you walk little bit further 30m parallely train route along arabian cafes you will discover Jacobs Inn!. I recommend to take a hairdresser with you and towel if your check in will be late. There is Tati shop to buy all needed.Nice supermarket Carrefour is in 15 min away. Friendly staff in general can help if you have some questions. Wi -fi is ok. Breakfast is a plus. Your way takes 20 min by foot if to go to Sacre Coeur. No need to pay tax 8euro per night if you prepay it by credit card:-)
Cheap hostel, but in rough area ”
Close to Barbes station and Sacre Coeur by walk. Nice social area and small breakfast at the back.
Good Hostal in Paris”
Nice hostel if you want to visit Paris and especially its northern part. Very friendly and helpfull staff is every time ready to help. Thanks a lot, merci beaucoup.
Close to the metro station ”
The staff was so nice every time. The place is located in front of a metro station, the streets that surrounded it are not so nice. Is close to the sacre- cour church and moulin rouge. Is a lot of wet in the environment. Is jut one toilet and one showed for everybody. If you only go to sleep is a good option, because it has good price to be Paris. They included the breakfast, but it is imposible call breakfast a bread and an banana. Then is better that they don’t offer this like one of they services.
Could be much better ”
Whilst good price it is quite run down. Rooms overcrowded (triple bunks), has a kitchen n indoor and outdoor common areas, no hot water in kitchen n rubs out regularly in the showers. It's not a bad atmosphere with other guests but there is a much better hostel 300 meters away for similar €. I liked the area too. Train opposite n can be noisey. Squeaky beds n poor wifi.
Affordable price”
This is really budget hostel. Cheap and convenient location. However, there are some problem with your staying. First of all, you would get bit by bedbugs. I stayed there for 5 nights and was bit more than 10 spots on my skin. Secondly, at night, sometimes kids traveller made me waken up by making noise and reception did not control them. Thirdly, especially at night i didnt feel safe near hosptel. If u can bear this. This is such a good hostel. Ita very convenient location and receptionist will help you whatever you want in relation to travel.
A place of contradictions”
This place was full of contradictions. The staff were friendly, it is within 50m of a metro station and it does not cost too much. But the room was tiny and cramped, its uncomfortable beds with no pillows stacked three high. The neighborhood is not good. Apparently there was a fight in the hostel when I stayed, we got locked out for 2 hours while the police were investigating. (That was the story we were told. I did not witness any of it.) On the street, gangs of police were constantly frisking or interrogating middle eastern and north african looking guys, asking for their papers, occasionally taking them away. I did not feel safe at Paris Friends Hostel and would not want to stay there again.
Great staff, facility is what you paid for.”
The staff are great and run the place well. If it was not for them I would not recommend the place to anyone. Although located in a rough neighborhood the Hostel itself feels safe and secure. The rooms are tiny, dark and hot. The metro is right across the street, takes about 20 minutes to get to city centre by metro. A kitchen and a common place is available and has everything one needs. Showers could be better cleaned.
If you want something cheap it is OK but he breakfast is very poor. ”
Pros: cheap hostel, metro stop very close to the hostel, nice staff and cool decoration. Cons: very poor breakfast, no lockers, dangerous neighbourghood specially at night.
everything ok except bug bites”
Best value in paris, very centally, everything fine except i get some bites from bed bugs
Excellent”
Good central location in the city. You get what you’ve paid for. I was in an ensuite room which had made my experience good : only 4 persons using the shower. Staff really helpful and friendly. Major con will be the bed bugs. I have a lot of spots and red marks everywhere and it’s kind of itchy but maybe you can buy a special preventive cream upfront to avoid that.
Administration fail, lack of wifi”
When I arrived at the Hostel around 21.00PM, they told me they don't have bed for me. They saw my booking, but even so they don't have free bed... When I suggested them to pay my money back and I'll find an other place to stay, they told me they don't think I have paid. After a short argument they promised me, if I go for a short walk they'll solve the problem and they'll give me a free bed. I walked in the city all night, and when I returned they finally could provide me a bed. It was around 4.00AM... Next morning they asked me again to pay. When they saw my face when I told them 4. time that I already paid with credit card, they don't forced it further. The room was airless and the bed was uncomfortable. They advertising free wifi in all rooms, but it's not exactly true. They provide wifi during the day, but you have to pay for it in the evening. It costs about 2EUR/hour.
Stay near Gare du Nord for early flight.”
I stayed for one night and its was good. Xavier and Manuel are very nice. Bed and room were clean. You just need to know that each floor has one shower so need to take yours early or late to don't wait.
Horrible area altough convenient location”
I met intetesring people there we are in contact now. The are seems to be quite dangerous and unplsadant. However nothing wrong happened to me. Hotel is not so clean. The only advantage is low price and convenient location
Poor experience ”
This was my first time in a hostel and I thought I didn't like hostels because of this one. after being in two more, I realized that this hostel was just disgusting and poorly kept. I heard other travellers conplaining of bedbugs. The staff was really great but they obviously don't care about the condition of their business, not to mention the location is absimal and extremely sketchy.
I don't recommend to anyone! Nothing good! ”
This hostel is the most horrible hostel I've ever stayed. I don't recommend to anyone who's looking for a place to stay in Paris. Booked and paid for a bed in a 3 people room and ended up stayed in a 5 people room. The reception gave me the reason was they're just put 5 beds in the room but they will just load 3 people. Then told the other 2 girls the different reason let them stay in the room. And one of the male staff came inside the room changed the bed sheets for a new girl at the late night then staying in the room talking with the other 2 girls loud and won't leave the room even after I told him to leave he still making fun with it and saying that he's going to sleep in this room tonight. What he behaves was unbelievable rudeness and terrible. They are not a honest hostel and the location area isn't safe especially for girls. No elevator if you carry a heavy luggage. Wifi isn't free for 24 hours, you can only use from 9~6pm then you have to pay €3 for 2 hours! I'll definitely tell all my friends NOT to stay this hostel.
Good for sleeping purpose”
The toilet is located outside from the room, while the dorm room is too small to accommodate the required number of people, the bathroom is too small as well. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom is not so comfort as it is too small.
Avoid”
Two toilets (both without sink!) and one shower (1x1m, no room to put your clothes for them to stay dry) for a floor with ~20 rooms (several of which house 4-6 people) - who ever thought this would be good enough? The bed had a blanket, but no pillow. Also, if you're a woman (or a man who doesn't look very intimidating) travelling alone I wouldn't recommend arriving too late - the neighbourhood doesn't seem particularly friendly at night…
Above average”
at night Beware your wallet because in font of the hostel ,there are many bad guys .
It is worth the money ”
it was Ok hotel
