A great place to stay”

Centrally located, reasonably pricesd and great staff

I stayed 9 nights at the Jade Hotel and have no negatives at all. Check in was quick & efficient, my room was clean & comfortable, the tours offered were great value and I recommend the Jinshanling to Simtai Great Wall walk. There is a self service laundry, safety lockers and snacks and drinks available in reception, there is also a restaurant & bar although I didn't use them. Reception & the bar has free wi-fi and each room has LAN internet access. The staff speak great English and are always willing to help and give advice and I have no hesitation recommending the Jade Hotel to anyone visiting Beijing. It is located very close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and also Tiananmen East subway station. 2 stops down is Xidan where the airport shuttle arrives/departs. Make the Jade Hotel your first choice but be quick to book as it is always busy because it's a great place to stay.

Superb Location Really”

l o c a t i o n

i stayed here due to good reviews here in trip advisor. i can say that i was not disappointed. this place is ideal for those on budget & only wish to explore the city for less than 5-days. location really is the best asset of this place. it's a 15-min walk to tian'anmen square/ forbidden city / beijing national theatre. and you'll be clocking the same amount of time to reach wangfujing street. that's 4 spots checked on your list already without having to hire a tour company. oh it's worth checking said spots at night too. to add, there are nearby souvenir shops to buy & haggle from. my room's okay, comfy but rather old but not shabby. place's really acceptable. i don't mind staying in this place again.

They made Beijing a wonderful place to visit.”

Magnificient staffs!

the staffs are superb compared to other hotel i stayed in beijing - they're initiative to carry my luggage (which was so unbelievably heavy), friendly, kind, helpful, smiling, called the taxi for me, the check in process was quick, the breakfast taste great at (buffet style). on my last day i checked out 1 half hour late - and they're kind enough to let me off the hook. it's very near to bus stops, however the nearest subway is wangfujing. you can walk to tiananmen & forbidden city from here. i walked only 10 minutes to take a bus to beijing zoo - where i bought a lot of clothes at wholesale price. to walk to the nearest subway it'll take you about 30minutes. if going to subway is a must, you should take a bus there (coz the bus stop is only 1-2 minutes' walk away. summary: it was a very pleasant stay indeed. love it, will revisit it if i ever visit beijing again. highly recommended to all people. bravo to the staffs!!!

Hostel with soft beds and good location.”

Good price, conveniently located in Forbidden city district, soft beds.

This hotel is listed as Jade Hotel in English. The Chinese name is Zhide Xihua hotel. If you take a cab from the airport to this hostel you need to provide the chinese name. It took awhile for the cab driver to find the place since it's down further from the bigger hotels, but still in a prime location next to all the main attractions. There is a metro stop within a mile walk. The paperwork in the hotel indicates that this is a international youth hostel. It was clean with new memory foam beds. They accommodated me when I had a late arrival from the airport. And the front desk people spoke English rather well. They take cash deposit for the key card and return to you afterward. The only bad incident was that the card system to the doors was not functioning when I arrived. So I was only given a card key to access electricity but not my door for one of the two nights. And I had also pressed the "do not disturb" button as I left for the day. But, came back to a room that had been entered. Although, this wasn't that big of a deal. Also, upon arrival the front desk clerk scanned my passport thoroughly (the photo, and the pages with all the visas). I'm not sure if that was protocol. I had never had that happen to me before. Another observation is that their clientele are mostly international. There is a convenient map of the Beijing metro system in the lobby where you can jot down the stops to the main attractions. And if you are worried about your belongings, the hotel provides lockers with keys you take with you. All in all, this was a good budget hotel. Very clean, (soft beds are hard to find in China), English-speaking staff, budget-friendly and good location. I would definitely stay there again.

Clean hotel, great location, very helpful staff”

location, staff, cleanliness

My family and I stayed at Jade Hostel for 4 nights. We wanted to save money so instead of joining group tours or hiring a tour guide, we listed the places we wanted to visit and checked directions through Google maps. Because the hostel is located in the Wangfujing area, attractions like The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Sqaure, and the Wangfujing shopping street, are all within walking distance. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful and speak good English, and they were able to give us clear directions on how to commute by bus to the Mutianyu Great Wall and 798 Art District.

Great location ”

Great location (easy to find and near some attractions), good food, English-speaking & friendly staff and wifi at the common areas

The hotel's location is fantastic! It's about 10-15 mins walk to some of the attractions such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beihai Park and Wangfujing Shopping Center. Although the rooms are small, it is equipped with facilities that we needed during our stay there like the heater, hair dryer, hot shower and wifi (in common areas). Plus, they have a great restaurant that serve really good food. The only thing that we didn't like about the hotel is their housekeeping. Although they cleaned the room, the bed is not made up and they don't change the towels. But it didn't really bother us. Overall, we're happy with our stay in Jade.

Great location - Good service - Recommended!!”

Location, Friendly and helpfull staff, room cleanliness

I'm a frequent budget traveller, but still a little picky. This hotel was just perfect for traveling in Beijing. Close to a market/shopping street with lots of good foods (cicadas, scorpions, grasshoppers for the adventurous), nice tea places, decent small restaurant and family marts for snacks. About 10 minute walk away from subway station, and only few bus stops away from Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Heck, you could even walk there. So location is pretty good even if it was a little difficult for the taxi driver to get there first. The staff were very nice and friendly, not all speak english but it is passable and I had no problems in communication. There were washing and drying machines available for small fee, at the time of visit some were out of order, but I am sure there are other options available nearby. 2 single bed room was big enough and secure enough for me and my traveling companion, the shower had a good pressure and no lack of hot water. Next time I visit Beijing will definitely try to stay here again.

Very good location!

This is the place to stay in Beijing! Very friendly (compared to people of Beijing) English speaking staff, very good location, clean, have all you need there. The location is very near to wangfujing street, forbidden palace, tiananmen, and another good place near the former city wall that I forgot it's name. As if they have just a little bigger room, lower price and internet connection at room (not only in lobby), it would be really really perfect.

Awesome budget hotel in the heart of everything!”

The three best things about this hotel is the location, the price, and the quality of service - wifi connection was also really good throughout our stay.

Our stay was fairly comfortable. The hotel is walking distance from the key tourist areas in Beijing - Wangfujing Shopping street, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Jingshan Park, Beihai Park. The hotel also provides basic stuff like toothbrush and toothpaste, hair and body wash, towels, hair dryer and slippers. We were there late October, almost winter, and the room did not have heater so we just had to keep the windows closed. The bed was also comfortable with a good mattress, duvet, and pillows. The hotel also has a tourist desk where you can book tours at a fair price. Basically, it gives a really good value for money considering the location, hotel condition, and service! Definitely staying here again when I go back to Beijing.

Quaint Hotel ”

International Customers, Easy to get to local areas, Friendly staff

the hotel is actually a nice hostel so make sure you give it some real consideration. the rooms are nice and there are breakfast and dining rooms. the breakfast is cheaper if you pay daily than if you add it on to your room (about 1/3 of the price). i only ate breakfast there so i can not comment on lunch or dinner. the breakfast is not always warm when it should be and mostly traditional, still good though. it is a quiet hotel that provides easy walking to night markets, day markets, the forbidden city and much more. only downfall was that they ran out of money to exchange with due to it being a holiday weekend but there is an atm about 3-5 minutes walk straight up the same street the hotel is on, after you cross the main street. the price was really reasonable and i would recommend it for sure.

great hotel for simple life”

friendly, supportive and good english speaking staff, very good location, clean and silent room

I enjoyed my 3 nights stay in Jade hotel. The location is very good to reach some major sightseing spots (for example the forbidden city) or to experience a big and modern shopping streets and a tradidional night market. The street where the hotel is located is a small alley which was difficult for the taxi driver to find. My room was small with simple equipment but all was clean, useful and properly working - only the fan in the bathroom was noisy - I could even hear the neighbor's bathroom fan. The staff was extremly friendly and helped where ever help was needed - and in fluent Englsih language. This place is really worth the money I paid and surely my recommandation.

Nice basic hotel”

Clean, comfy, convenient tours

OK location, near forbidden city, shopping centres etc. It's still a bit of a hike to the entrance of the forbidden city but it's not too far. 25min walk to the nearest metro which is a bit far if you have bags. Purchased a great wall tour in the lobby which was pretty good, big lunch included and they didn't force us into countless souvenir shops (like so many tours do). Self service laundry is available bit the dryers aren't very reliable. Restaurant is a bit plain Jane but is also pretty cheap. Hotel is good for its price, I've already returned when I was passing through Beijing a week later.

i enjoyed a short stay at the Jade Hotel. I have been there before. The rooms are basic but everything I need is there with the exception of a safe. There is a safety box in the lobby. The hotel is situated a stones thrpw from the walls of the forbidden city. Tianamen Square is a fiteen minute walk while Wangfuging Street is five or ten minutes walk from the front door. I booked an internal flight at the front desk where staff were very helpful. I also booked tours from the hotel on a previous visit. Wi fi is available in the lobby.
