Our experience here”
Arrived on 4th July 2018, shared a friend's taxi from airport to Jambuluwuk Malioboro, and checked in. It was a pretty fast and efficient process, and soon we were given the keys to our room. To be honest, we were quite disappointed to know that our room was in Level 3 since we have requested for a high floor room with city scenery. However, it is fine. Check in 5/5 We went up to Level 3, and noticed this beautiful terrace garden. It contained a few water fountains and a nice shelter with table and chairs for smoking. It was really beautiful. Room scenery 3/5 Garden Scenery 5/5 We went into our room, and noticed that it was really big and spacious. The toilet is a bit small, but still okay. However, my main concern is the insufficient light in the room, especially at night. It could really spoil your eyesight. There was no ceiling light, only lights from your bedside lamp and the lamp by the rocking chair. I had to turn on my personal torchlight when I wake up every morning (before the sun is up) to do my makeup. Indoor lighting 3/5 To add on, the walls and carpets are quite old. The carpets are quite scary as you can see some white spots on it, and you can't help but imagine how or when was the carpet stained. The walls are a bit old when you see up close, but still okay. We really appreciate the daily change of our towels though. Walls & Carpet 3/5 Also, we checked out on 9th July, and it was when we were on our flight that we recalled that I left my amulet under the pillow. I contacted the staffs at Jambuluwuk Malioboro, and they got back to me pretty quick, and mailed the amulet back to me. Elsa (the kind staff who helped me through this situation) maintained professional and really went out of her way to help me get my amulet back. Customer service 5/5 Also, the location of the hotel was good. We took Grab everywhere we went, and it usually costs 11.000 to go to Malioboro street. Location 5/5 I wanted to take a day to cool off at th
Relaxing Stay Within Walking Distance To Malioboro”
This was my second stay at the Jambuluwuk Malioboro Hotel, because I just loved it so much the first time! The location is ideal. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Malioboro, but it is a short walk (one block over) to the main Malioboro shopping street. The hotel staff is very friendly, and will give you clear directions on how to get there. There is also almost always a taxi waiting at the hotel, and for those rare occasions when there is not, the hotel staff will be happy to call on for you. The breakfast is amazing. You can enjoy your choice of fruit juices, traditional Indonesian breakfast foods, or more Western foods. There is even a build-your-own omelet stand! The room was very clean and new. Also, Pizza Hut delivers right to your room :)
Great Stay at Yogyakarta”
I had a very enjoyable stay in Jambuluwuk Malioboro. The food in the hotel is good, enjoyed a lot of "sambal". It's still within walking distance to Beringharjo traditional market and Malioboro shopping street although it is a located about 1km away from the busy Malioboro. The staff are helpful to get taxi and ready to bargain for "becak" for me. I enjoyed a 30% discount at the spa with Citibank credit card although I carry a foreign Citibank card. Some tips to share: there are not much choices for restaurant nearby (unless one is adventurous to try the stalls at the road side). However, there is a bakery and 2 Indomart 24-h convenient stores nearby the hotel. Also, there is a Tran Jogja bus stop (abt 300m away) on the left side of the hotel entrance. I took a taxi at Rp 20000 (minimum tarif) from the hotel to Kraton and a "becak" for the same price back from Kraton. Overall, it was a great, value for money stay at this hotel.
By far the best hotel i've stayed in SE Asia”
The time i stayed at Jambuluwuk Malioboro Boutique Hotel was amazing! All the staff members were very professional and kind. Every time you walk by a staff they will always greet you with a smile. I was very surprise how nice the hotel was. You will never find this kind of offer back home (Canada). I highly recommend for people to stay there if you ever plan to visit yogyakarta.
Great service, facilities and spacious rooms but so noisy.”
I accidentally booked the wrong dates for this trip and had to book an extra day. The front desk staff were really nice and helpful and tried to arrange for us to stay in the same room unfortunately they were fully booked for the deluxe rooms and we had to shift rooms. It wasn't an issue as it was my mistake. The staff made it super easy to shift rooms by allocating us another room on the same room. Their facilities are awesome with friendly staffs in the spa and restaurants. The pool is slightly small but cosy enough for a relaxing dip. The only issue I had with Jambuluwuk Malioboro Hotel was that the doors are so so thin. Every morning at around 6am families with screaming kids start getting out of their rooms and the screams echo through the hallways and into your rooms. Had most of my mornings ruined thanks to those screaming children. it will be helpful if the floors are carpeted to reduce the echo and sounds travelling into the rooms.
Good location and excellent value and service”
We booked four rooms during our trip to Yogyakarta. The staffs are amazing, they do their best to meet our needs. We requested for connecting rooms and they fulfil our request. We love the pools and also the outdoor garden. The only improvement for them is to clean the room carpet as stains are visible. We had wedang ronde (ginger drink) at night and the peanut we had were stale and they have no kolang kaling / palm fruit / atap seed. We didnt have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The hotel is located within walking distance from malioboro street, but far enough so we were not stuck in traffic. Nearby the hotel, there is a gudeg place that is nice and cheap. We love our stays there and will come back again when we go to Yogyakarta

Very clean, unique and great location”
Jambuluwuk hotel close to center city jogya, main of road malioboro, kraton, and traditional market in Malioboro. Breakfast menu quite good and variety. The hotel staff very helpful, proactive and welcome to assist you. The hotel very comfortable & clean both in lobby and room, especially lobby at 2nd floor we can meet with guest quite private without noisy. Traditional music gamelan would be bring us to java local ambience in the lobby.
great stay, great locaton”
it's a great stay in Jambuluwuk. Large room with quite large bathroom, nice swimming pool and of course the location. It's near from Malioboro, the centre of shopping place in Yogyakarta. It's only take 5 minutes using Becak, the traditional vehicle. They have various food for breakfast, from western to traditional food.
Nice Hotel but had to move”
i really wanted to like this hotel in jogjakarta but alas i had to move to another one. the hotel itself is nice and comfortable and the room were clean and pleasant. however, i should have read the reviews more closely, especially from those other travelers who are not native to indonesia or don't speak bahasa. like someone else mentioned in a previous review i understand, when i am travelling in a non-native-english speaking country, that conversing will be a challenge - that is a great part of the adventure. however that when a hotel's website is written in english and it says that it is a 5 star hotel i expect there would be some level of english spoken by the frontline staff. my experience at the jambuluwuk malioboro boutique hotel was that this was not the case. i had book to stay 8 nights at the hotel but had to leave after 2 because of the inability for the staff and myself to communicate on basic service requests - such as sending a power socket adapter to my room on my first night after arriving at 10pm (stupidly left mine at home); 2 telephones calls where i ask for an adapter to be sent to my room and being told 'yes' and then going down to the front desk at 12 midnight and asking in person and finally after much being shown to me as what they thought i was asking for i got the adapter. other communication experiences such as this over the first two days unfortunately did me in and i left for the hyatt recency yogyakarta - a five star hotel with good frontline communications skills. fortunately the hotel let me out with only having to pay 1 night penalty and i was more than happy to do that .
Amazingly Nice Hotel in a Great Location”
We stayed at Jambuluwuk Malioboro Boutique Hotel for 4 nights and loved it! Everything is still so new and fresh looking. Our room was super clean. The shower was nice and hot, and the a/c worked very well at keeping the room a comfortable temperature. The concierge was very friendly and helpful each and every time we wanted information on something to do/eat. My favorite part was the location of the hotel. It was within walking distance to Malioboro and Mirota Batik, but far enough away that you couldn't hear all the noise and traffic. I definitely recommend this hotel!
very accommodating staff and strategic location”
over all my stay at Jambuluwuk malioboro hotel was memorable. they have a dynamic, friendly and english speaking staff. I am glad I chose that hotel to celebrate my birthday. they provide everything and you don't need to get out of the hotel. they have batik, painting, gamelan players, comfy coffee shops and restaurant. For kids, they have a clean and child friendly play ground and swimming pool. They offer also a complimentary 15-minutes massage at their relaxing spa. The staff can also arrange a tour vehicle for your tour services.
Wonderful hotel that's impossible to fault”
Jambuluwuk is a professionally run, very friendly and modern, comfortable hotel. We loved staying here. It is an eight story hotel with all you expect in a quality hotel - internet, pool, spa, gym, tasteful outdoor patio with city & sunset views, comfy lounge bar & restaurant. We paid tiny bit more for a deluxe room & didn't regret this decision. Our very spacious, comfortable & carpeted modern room had a smallish but stylish, contemporary bathroom attached. Large windows let in lots of light, as well as views of city and Mount Merapi. Service was excellent and ALWAYS with a big smile. When we stayed there were lots of happy Indonesian families on January school holidays here. There are facilities for kids like a smaller pool & playroom, library etc. If we wanted a quiet swim, we just worked around families by appearing when kids disappeared after their morning or late afternoon swim. A basic buffet dinner was free every night - perfect for families or tired tourists like us. Buffet breakfast was great - good range of Indonesian and Western foods. My only (tiny) criticism of hotel is that alcohol prices were excessive, even for hotel prices. However, overall it was hard to fault this hotel. Would return. Can highly recommend.
Great Hotel, newly constructed”
Jambuluwuk Malioboro Boutique Hotel is a newly built hotel situated right in the middle of the city. Malioboro street is just down the corner where you can get all the local products. Hotel room is spacious but internal finish can be improved. Hotel staff are very helpful and always service with a smile. A good long weekend get away town for people living in malaysia.
I stay for 2 nights. Hotel location is nice for me coz its not very close with Malioboro (10-15min walk), so my family can look a round when go to Malioboro. The room & bathroom is really great and safe especially for kids (< 2yr). My daugther really love the playground, i like the swimming pool..so every morning we rock with it. All staff at Jambuluwuk is great, they're very helpfull. Even the price is not include breakfast, you can easy find meals around the hotel So its homy hotel..
Very nice homebase to explore Yogya”
We spent the final 3 days of our Indonesia trip in the Jambuluwuk Hotel. Situated a few hundred metres off Malioboro street, it provides a good place to explore the city and its surroundings IF one is prepared to walk 10 minutes on foot to Malioboro street (or to accept cheap local transport from the hotel gate). The room was nice, we only lacked room to put our belongings in the bathroom and had to struggle with the shower to make the water come out in the right place. All in all, a very pleasant stay (and quiet at night, which was perfect for us at a price of less than 30 € per night. We cannot comment on the food since we never ate there, but I have to rate it, so the 5 stars there are mere hearsay.
We stay for 3 nights, and received a warm welcome during our stay at the hotel. The food was nice, although some of them could be enhance to get a better taste. Overall it was a nice breakfast. Room was spacious and clean, we get a fresh towel, toilet paper, and bottled water every day. The room was quiet enough and will give you a pleasant sleep during the night. The staff were all kind and helpful. The hotel manager was kind enough to gave us a direction on where to buy Jogja's famous food, Gudeg, and souvenirs. They also gave us a free room upgrade which is really awesome! The location were also strategic, about 10 minutes on foot to Malioboro street and 30 minutes to airport (by taxi). The parking space were also adequate, it has 2 basement stories and lots of parking spaces. Overall, the hotel offers comfort and Indonesian hospitality during our stay. There is no doubt that we'll be staying at Jambuluwuk Boutique Hotel again in our future trip to Jogjakarta.
lovely hotel with very good staff”
our flight from bali to yogyakarta was in the early morning. we reached the hotel very early and knowing that we have children with us, they arranged us to check in well before the official checkin timing. the service is excellant. food was very good. staff were excellant.very clean hotel. away from busy malioboro street, but not too far.taxi charges appro idr from malioboro street. recommend for family holiday..
Pleasant experience in Yogyakarta! I made the right choice to stay at Jambuluwuk Malioboro Hotel.”
What really stood out at Jambuluwuk Malioboro was the courteous and pleasant staff. Reception was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was very responsive and efficient. We ate lunch at the Clubhouse upon arrival while waiting for our rooms to be ready (having arrived well before check-in time). The all-you-can-eat lunch buffet was really value-for-money and delicious. Overall, food at the hotel was quite good! If you are lucky, you will get an unobstructed view of Mount Merapi from the hotel (ask to stay at a high floor!) The location is good .. not on a very crowded street and is within walking distance to Malioboro. We even walked to the Kraton from the hotel. Our rooms were spacious and clean. If anything needs improvement .. I'd say maybe the towels (they were a bit worn out ). I wanted to get a massage on the last day there (last minute decision) but the spa unfortunately was not yet ready (at about 12.30pm). Maybe I should have made prior reservation.
Hotel name misleading.”
Jambuluwuk is a great hotel but its location is not near Malioboro road, the main street of Yogyakarta. It is strange that the hotel uses the word Malioboro.
