A great stay in a comfortable hotel”
We really enjoyed our time at the jasmine family hostel! The staff is friendly, the breakfast is included, the rooms are comfortable and clean. It was a great place to relax after long days sight seeing in siem reap and at Angkor wat!
Really enjoyed the stay”
I stayed for 3 nights in the dorm with barhroom. It has massive wooden bunkbeds and aircon. The dorm is on the 3rd floor, inviting terrace with lounge and view over the town. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels provided. There is a very nice pool in the hostel. Breakfast is included and you can choose from several options. The restaurant is open all day and has tasty dishes for good prices. I especially loved the fresh made fruit shakes for just $1! The staff is friendly, they help you with questions regarding sightseeing in Siem Reap and Angkor. I booked my busticket for the next destination directely at the reception. I had a great time, felt like at home and would come back any time! Thank you so much!
Positives: Loved our stay here, the pool was a major bonus! Nice big room with an excellent fan! Negatives - Not sure it's the nicest part of Siem Reap to stay in, near a very big and busy main road. But the hotel itself is located on a quiet road. We also had an awkward situation with one of the staff members after enquiringly about the cost of a tuk tuk tour of the temples. We decided to go with a different tuk tuk as it was with a company and it worked out a little cheaper. After we told him we found another driver he went out of his way to mention it awkwardly during every other encounter we had with him, to the point where when I was checking out he asked (AGAIN) how much we paid, to then tell us his "guy" was going to do it for less....... which was weird because that wasn't true at all. Not sure why his attitude was like this as we were good customers and ate lunches and dinners at the hotel too, it was really strange and left a bit of a bad taste to be honest.
Excellent hotel in the centre of the city.”
This hotel was just off the main street in the city but quiet. Well located to attractions and tourist areas with tuk tuk drivers from the hotel on hand to take you anywhere. The in house restaurant was great value for money and offered both khymer and international meals. The pool also made for a nice escape from hot sunny weather. The staff were friendly and attentive and did their best to help give you information about the city and the major sights. I would strongly recommend this hotel as your base in Siem Reap.
Comfy and value hostel for budget traveller”
Jasmine Family Hostel is quite suitable for budget traveller. But in fact in Siem Reap you can find many cheaper place to stay. The second thing it was good here is there a pool to soak and relax while after long tiring day to visit many temples in Sim Reap. I just want to complaint about on the last day we had been out to see the sun rise in the early morning we returned to hostel about 10.50 that was the time out of breakfast -actually the breakfast time 8.00-10.30 am- we requested for breakfast that included in prepaid-room but they refused us that is no problem for us
Best value in Siem Reap!”
The guesthouse is the best value I could find in Siem Reap. At first I didn't realize what a great deal it was, but then after moving on to 2 or 3 other places and physically checking out dozens more, I couldn't believe how great it was in comparison. The beds were big and comfortable, the entire room was clean, there were windows and curtains for sunlight and privacy, towels changed whenever we needed them, spacious room with a desk and freestanding 'closet'. Free water was great. Saved us a few dollars a day. The breakfast was pretty simple, fruit, a baguette, jam, coffee or tea. It's a little far out of the main area for some people. We didn't mind at all, it was easy to walk or just $1 for tuk tuk. We hired bikes nearby for $2 a day and enjoyed exploring Siem Reap that way. I highly recommend it! The hot water wasn't very reliable, but I found that to be the case in most places. I would certainly stay here again.
Couldn't have asked for more ”
Lovely pool, very helpful staff, not too close to the centre so was lovely and quiet and a $2 tuk tuk ride away but plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance. The food was excellent and a good price. Breakfast was really good quality. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Wifi connection a little slow in room but no worse then anywhere else in Cambodia. I would stay here again if I ever came to Siem reap can't fault it 😊
Nice clean rooms, inconsistent service”
We stayed at Jasmine Family Hostel for 7 nights. For the most part we really liked it. The room was spacious and clean. We reserved a room with one double bed but got a room with two twin beds, didn't bother complaining because it wasn't a big deal. The included breakfast was really good. The pool was wonderful! Some of the staff people were incredibly kind and helpful to us. But others seemed like helping customers was a bother to them or something. One person told us repeatedly that she would help us with something, but she never did it.
A gem in siem reap”
If I could pick this hotel up and put it in my pocket and stay there everywhere I went, life would be great. The staff are wonderful and kind, location is great, pool is clean and refreshing, breakfast was so good, and most importantly it was quiet to sleep! I loved it here! I loved siem reap and this hotel just made it even better! Room was amazing, big and clean and the bed was comfy. A perfect stay!
Great location, good service, large rooms”
I found this destination by accident while searching for another recommanded one and stopped to read about the owner`s philosophy and project. I decided for this hotel because I liked what I read and wanted to support with my stay. The hotel itself is well situated in a small road, quiet and well cared. The swimmingpool is great and very clean. The lounge is never empty, you can always find somebody for a chat or some experience exchange. Wifi is free and working even in the room. I had always the same Tuk-Tuk-driver, Saat (or similar) who drove me whereever I wanted and picked me up if I wished so, he was always cheerful and friendly. I can specially mention my guide Sampang, a great guide, speaking English very well and clever enough to find out quickly what I am interested in and showing me special places where I could make great photos. For what I paid the hotel is excellent value. I can highly recommend it and would stay again on my next visit to Siem Reap.
Very pleasant hostel, perfect hospitality”
This hostel was perfect for me. Life is very easy with the friendly staff and the good facilities. Very clean and lovely pool too! Food was delicious and everything was in a very good price-quality balance. Perfect place if you want no 4* luxury (and price) but a clean place with good service and a pool (which is not common in this category in Siem Reap).
Pleasant room, very spacious”
had a pleasant stay. My driver accidentally took me to the Jasmine Family Lodge first, because that was off the main, so I suppose the location is a bit obscure for the Jasmine Family Hostel, but it wasn't much of a problem. The size of the room, and the operating air conditioning, was great! It was above my expectations considering they call themselves a hostel. I did find a dead cockroach and a spider in the bathroom, but I suppose being in Southeast Asia, it wasn't a huge surprise. The pool was also very pleasant. I enjoyed spending my afternoon relaxing there to cool off after a long morning of sightseeing at the Angkor temples. Overall, I had a nice stay.
Friendly and Helpful Staff”
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and our experience is awesome. Staff are helpful, can speak and understand english well. Room are kept clean everyday, breakfast is being served daily and is also good. Would recommend this hotel for foreigners like us in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Great value for money”
Great place for a couple of nights in siem reap, the pool is ideal for a relaxing day before/after a day spent at angkor wat. Short 15 minute walk into the centre or always a tuk tuk available from the hotel. Great free breakfast and clean rooms. Only one small issue that the staff were not super friendly and a little cold, yet were still efficient when booking taxis to airport/ tuktuk tour around the temples. Would highly recommed this place!!
Great location, services and food”
loved our stay, it was lovely having a pool. after walking under the heat it was nice to go home and relax in the pool. the owner was very friendly and so was the tuktuk drivers. ask for pen and mr. nan ( don't know if i spelled his name correctly). they are very courteous and they speak good english. i am recommending this hotel to my friends and family members, staying in siem rep for 5 days was great because we felt relaxed while staying at this hotel. it's family friendly and they let you use the bike for free if you book a day in advanced.
Great location...within minutes from night market”
our stay was generally good. the accomodation was fine except that they did not clean our room on the second day. but the breakfast was good and the place is about 15 minutes away from the siem reap airport.
Location and Value”
Location is excellent, very close to banks, restaurants and main highway. Affordable and comfortable accommodation with basic amenities and hot&cold shower. Will definitely be staying again when we go back to Siem Reap.
Good value for money, nothing fancy”
Booked this place because it was cheap for myself and family for 2 weeks. The location is not far from town. It's a bit annoying to cross National Road 6 on foot to get to town, but a tuk-tuk to/from the Old Market costs $1-2. We had all the facilities we needed, i.e. shower, aircon, wifi, fresh towels, free drinking water, reasonable selection of food and drinks. The pool is usually quiet BUT there are a lot of ants around it! If you don't need anything fancy then you can't beat Jasmine Family Hostel for the price.
Complicated feeling about this hostel”
this hostel has a great view with a small swimming pool and comfortable lounge. the food was quite good and cheap as well. my friend and i stayed there for 3 nights. at first, we were a bit disappointed as the type of room is deluxe but no facility in the bathroom: no soap, no toothbrush, no hair dryer...we had even to take toilet paper on our owns. then we told ourselves that with night, you couldn't expect more. but the most important thing the hostel lack is commitment: 2 first days were over, we saw seam reap was so amazing to discover and decided to stay one more night but no room available. so at the third night, we went to night market to buy bus ticket to phnompenh city. the day we checked out, the receptionist told me there was a room for us and we could stay. at that time, we already bought bus ticket, so we told her that we will ask whether we can change our bus ticket to the next day and called her to confirm our booking. everything worked well since we could change ticket and stay there one more night after calling to the hostel manager to confirm our booking. we continued our discovery in angkor until evening, backed to hostel and were shocked because the manager said that one staff canceled our booking and he will book a room for us in another hostel. of course, the new hostel was not good but we had to accept it. during our stay, everday we saw the hostel were overbooked, the manager treated those unlucky customers in not a vey nice way and they were tranfered reluctantly to new hostel. that's why i have a complicated feeling about jasmine hostel: great view, good food, cheap price but lack of commitment.
Clean, nice, but out of the way”
Lovely little oasis around the pool (which sadly underwent surprise renovations on the 2nd day of my 4 day stay), clean facilities. A good 20 min walk or $1-2 tuk tuk ride to Siem Reap night market / pub street area. Included breakfast is basic but fine (egg, baguette, coffee for e.g.).
