Great owners, horrible staff.”
Owners are very helpful and speak great English. Close to the beach. Bus stand right outside.
The room itself was decent for the price. The floor was very dirty and there were bugs and ants *everywhere*. I asked to get the floor cleaned (it was dirty when i came) after a couple of days but they never cleaned it. No roomservice/cleaning at all. I had some trouble with my AC but that was sorted rather quickly. The Wifi worked great, not the best speed but very consistent. The staff barely speaks English, you can't carry on a conversation with them. Some of them are also very pushy/annoying and won't leave you alone. They kept trying to push me to go on tours and stuff which they couldn't even explain what it was when i asked. Stay away from the normal staff as much as possible, but spend as much time as you can with the owners! The owners are some of the nicest people i've ever met traveling, they made my stay there much better. And they speak great English! They even helped plan the rest of my trip in Sri Lanka, and dropped me off at places for free. All in all, it's a decent place for the price.

Could not recommend this hotel in any way. The rooms are basic which was fine as was expecting this for the price but it is nowhere near Unawatuna and is about 4kms away. You can get a bus in but it really is a hassle. Do yourself a favour and book one in the centre of Unawatuna or if you can't find one and you're on a budget just rock up to town and walk around to find one, there are loads around that are not advertised on the internet but are centrally located.

Cozy place on a peaceful beach”
Beach, porch over looking ocean, morning tea
We had a lovely stay! The room was clean, simple and just a few steps from the beach. We were there in the off season and had the whole beach to ourselves. The staff were very helpful and very friendly towards our children. It was a wonderful, relaxing family vacation.

Only positive is the sea”
The hotel has a private beach, room has a/c
We stayed for two nights but were happy to leave. The hotel looksas if not painted or renovated for 20 years. Old and dirty furniture, plastic plants, lots of flies. The manager however is a very nice and helpful person, who speaks very good English. The rest of the staff don't speak English... A real budget hotel for backpakers.

Disappointing Hotel but nice view”
The view onto the beach
I know this was a budget hotel, but I have to say I was very disappointed with my stay here. I've stayed in budget hotels in many countries (including some others in Sri Lanka) and this place was really disappointing. The rooms were very poorly maintained (there were holes in the ceiling exposing the wiring, cracks in the walls that had not been resealed properly or repainted, the toilet made some horrible noise all the time that kept be from the sleeping properly, the furniture was falling apart and there was an ants nest in the room so I woke up on the last morning covered in ants). The owners were around from time to time but not much and basically just left the running of the hotel to the Sri Lankan staff who were nice enough and hard working. On the plus side, the view from the balcony was beautiful indeed although you have to walk a few hundred metres to the east along to the beach to get to an area that is safe to swim in. The food I had for breakfast was pretty good. I'm sorry to say when I go back to the Galle area I will not be staying here again. You can get better for the same or only a slightly higher price.

Nice quiet place”
Nice place to relax if you want a quite environment away from all the hustle bustle
The staff was very helpful, we just had a little difficulty explaining things to the staff as not all staff could speak English but still they tried their best and gave us what we needed. The location is a bit away from all the action. We hired a bike to roam around the place and the nearest place to hangout was Unawatuna beach....which is not in walking distance from Jasmine inn, we had to drive there.

Peaceful place to stay”
amazing view
We booked only couple nights but we ended up staying almost 2 weeks. Jasmin Inn is very friendly place, felt like a home, with beautiful people around. The rooms are clean, the view from the balcony is amazing, the staff including the lovely owners are very helpful, made our stay more than enjoyable! The location of the hotel is very good, as its quite place to relax, you can walk on the beach, only 5 minutes away is a natural swimming pool very safe for anybody to swim in and its very close to Unawatuna or Galle. While relaxing on the hotel terrace you can watch turtles diving in front of you. It is a wonderful place to enjoy Sri Lanka.
