Staff were wonderful, look after you like a family ”
I had an amazing experience there and thanks to the staff. You guys are truly sri Lankans. Thank you.
Great rooms, friendly staff and great location...thank you for a great stay.
Lovely hotel in a great spot”
Beautiful open air rooms with a lovely view. There were a lot of kids staying when I was there so was quite noisy (open rooms means you hear them very early morning). Only a short walk to the beautiful beach that’s more crowded these days but still my favourite. Pool and yoga on site are both lovely. Food was pretty expensive and only alright.
Beautiful beach right next to the beach. Nice pool for our kids. The room was very clean and beautiful decorated. The food in the restaurant at top was excellent. Our kids loved the food at the hotel. Friendly stuff, especially Anouk has a lot of tips for trips around Dickwella. The surf spot is great! Overall a perfect stay.
Quiet small hotel with great pool”
Great yoga studio. The rooms are totally open which took a little bit to get use to - if you not like a light room make sure you bring eye mask. But waking up feeling like you have slept in the outdoors (but with all the mod cons) a totally zen experience.
Although we did like the concept and the comfortable room offered by Jasper House, we are quite dissatisfied with its proximity to the better parts of the Hiriketiya beach, its approachability from Matara and the service offered by the reception staff. Therefore, we would not recommend Jasper House specially in comparison with other beach resorts in the area.
Staff where not particularly welcoming, atmosphere was very off season, perhaps as yoga retreat had just finished. We returned from the beach at 10pm and the bar was closed, a bit of a shame.
Jasper House is a lovely place to stay, it is a lot more expensive than other accommodation in the area but after 6 nights in the hill area of Sri Lanka I booked this is a little bit of luxury and treat. The room was really nice and cleaned daily, the pool was not working for 2 of the days we were there so they gave everyone a free bottle of wine for the inconvenience which I thought was a nice gesture. It is 2 mins walk to the beach, food in the restaurant was really nice but we only ate there once as it was quite pricey and there are cheaper options around. It was very quite and very relaxing. Breakfast was really nice and lots to choose from, the only complaints I would have is the staff in the restaurant are a bit in slow motion which is the norm but they were extremely slow, sometimes looked at you wondering how you had appeared in the restaurant and what you were doing there, it was a bit odd. I also thought the surfboard hire should be free as there are a couple of hotels in the
Great food friendly staff Meridith (manager) very helpful.Yoga classes are great.
Not as good as it seems on pictures ”
Did not like the hotel at all. Strange place. Can't confirm the good reviews. Left 3 days earlier although already paid, just could not be there longer. Went to another place which was 30% cheaper and much better. There are a couple of things which are disturbing. First of all: Overpriced. Seems to be luxury, but is not. Room much smaller than what Agoda promised. Open Room concept not working. No Curtains, noisy. Very hot. Cheap furniture, no style, colors do not match. Cables coming out of wall, cable hanging into the pool. Second: Staff does not understand english very well. Breakfast was awkward, only had it 2 times. Dont want to get into strange situations like this when on holiday. Maybe the staff just needs some training. Finally: Hiriketiya Bay, the location. Don't go there if you want to surf. Urchins, rocks. lots of people in the water. Go there if you like overcrowded places with cheap food, overpriced tuk tuks and expensive surfboard rentals.
Nice hotel, close to the beach. ”
Pro: Rooftop restaurant, freshly prepared food (western prices), little library, nice rooms, but with open walls (fans, no air con). The beds were good and came with musquito nets, but the noise from outside (mopeds, music, peacocks) was not stopped or muffled by windows so that was a con. Also, they forgot to make the promised packed breakfast and the beach towels, so we had to leave without that to our day on the water whale watching.
From check in to check out I could not be happier with our stay at Jasper House. Staff we’re attentive and helpful, the included breakfasts were amazing and the views from the restaurant floor were fantastic. We stayed in room 9 and had views over the coconut grove and toward the bay. Although the room was open it did not feel exposed. The pool was also great, and the walk down to the swimming side of the bay was around 7 minutes. The bay itself was the best beach we visited in Sri Lanka.
great surf spot jungle beach”
jasper house was great, very different with no windows great view to wake up to albeit maybe a little over priced. very limited food menu. staff very friendly not quite as luxurious as the photos
Excellent stay in paradise!”
We had a fantastic time at Jasper House and Hiriketiya Beach! The hotel was lovely, close to the beach, not too big, with a great pool. The rooftop was great for a beer at sunset! All the staff were really friendly. The room was very comfortable and the open air bathroom was a great novelty. Hiriketiya itself was perfect - a beautiful tropical cove with some cool places to eat and a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend staying here!
We absolutely loved to stay in Jaser House and we had a wonderful week in this beautiful stay ”
We couldn’t have asked for more. The open rooms with jungle view are just breath taking, it was a great experience to wake up with the sound of waves. The location is perfect and it is just a short walk to the beach and the beautiful bay of Hiriketiya. The staff is super friendly especially the service guys in the restaurant. We can highly recommend the curry for dinner. The daily included breakfast is perfect, yummy and healthy and we were already looking forward to it the night before. We definitely want to come back next time.
Great place but lacks a bit of soul”
This place has potential. The property is absolutely stunning and staying in the open room was amazing. however, the manager is exactly rude and the whole place just missed a bit hearth and soul. When we went up for breakfast no staff was around and we had to go down to reception to get someone after waiting for 15 minutes. Helen and the receptionist were very helpful though!
Gorgeous and unique”
This hotel was the most unique hotel I have ever been too. Beautiful view from our room and such a great experience being outdoors while "indoors"! Perfect for couples or solo travelers - I wouldn't really recommend for children since everything is open air and not exactly private. Perfectly romantic and gorgeous.
A lovely stay”
Jasper house was a beautiful hotel just minutes walk from the beach. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated.
terrific stay near a beautiful beach”
Rooms are very comfortable and the place has a great vibe as there only a handful of rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. Breakfast is a great mix of fruit and Sri Lankan dishes.
Clean and new with good staff”
Clean and new with nice pool. Staff were always very helpful. There is a great cafe (Cafe Ceylon) 10 mins walk away.
