I stayed in a King Suite with Sea View room at 'Jeju Hotel Scabro,' which embraces the beautiful sea of Seogwipo in Jeju Island, for 3 nights and 4 days. Overall, it was a nice accommodation to experience the unique relaxed vibe of Jeju, and while there were a few drawbacks, there were definitely also strong points. Here is an honest review of my stay that may be helpful for those looking for good value and spacious ocean view rooms near Daepeong-ri in Seogwipo. The biggest advantage of this hotel is that the room space is incredibly large for a reasonable price. True to its name, the King Suite Room has excellent openness, allowing for a pleasant stay without any feelings of confinement, as I could comfortably spread out my belongings and enjoy my leisure time. The view of Seogwipo's blue sea unfolding outside the window was also exceptional, making me feel healed just sitting quietly in the room. Given that I could enjoy an ocean view room of this size at this price range, I would definitely give the cost-effectiveness and space satisfaction the highest score. However, due to the nature of being located very close to the beach, the room's interior felt somewhat humid and damp, which was disappointing. Fortunately, since ondol heating is available, I had to request the front desk to turn it on daily to reduce the dampness. I recommend that you make this heating request every day upon check-in, even if it may be a bit tedious. Additionally, since it's an outdoor villa complex, there are sometimes noticeable insects inside the room or in the surrounding area due to the nature-friendly environment. Those sensitive to insects might want to bring repellents. The public pool is set to open starting in June (next month), so I was disappointed not to be able to use it during my stay in mid-May. In terms of service and convenience, it was generally satisfactory and decent. The staff were very friendly whenever I requested ondol heating, and the spacious parking made it very convenient to park my rental car. Thanks to booking through Agoda, I was able to check in and out quickly without waiting, and because it is located in a quiet neighborhood, I could relax at night listening to the sound of the waves without noise. In conclusion, while Jeju Hotel Scabro has some natural disappointments like slight humidity and insects, the spaciousness, excellent sea view, and outstanding cost-effectiveness sufficiently offset these issues. Rather than expecting the dryness of a perfect city-type hotel, it can be a generally good option for those who want to enjoy a spacious suite at a reasonable price amidst Jeju's open scenery. I would love to visit again next time aligned with the pool opening schedule.
