special hotel with cultural characteristics”
This is my second stay in this hotel. It takes you 5-10 minutes from Tainan station by taxi. Very nice hotel, with background concepts of local Tainan characteristics. I very much appreciate that environmental friendly measures are introduced like not routinely offer shaver in room. They also have nice staff to introduce the place for walk and eating nearby. The breakfast is delicious with Tainan style. Nice and reasonable price!

Excellent boutique hotel”
I went to Tainan as a solo female traveler on an impulse trip. I knew very little of the city except for what's been said online and tips from my Taiwanese friend. However I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful the staff at the hotel was as they patiently guide me to get the best of my weekend stay in Tainan city. The hotel itself was tastefully decorated especially the guest coffee lounge with interesting art pieces and furniture. I particular like how they individually named the rooms of the hotel after some bygone trades or products of the area. The breakfast was simple but well prepared. The only thing that marks why it hasn't reached 4 star status is the cleaniness of the room especially the bathroom where the shower curtain could do with a good washing. Other than that, this hotel comes highly recommended.

This is a clean and stylish boutique hotel located in the heart of Tainan City. There is always something interesting to discover in various corners of the hotel. Many places of interest and food places are within walking distance. All rooms come in a different theme/design concept. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of staff. This is the first hotel I've stayed that offered free laundry. Room is very clean and everything looks new. The in-house shower gel and shampoo smell heavenly.

Unique hotel with nice ambience”
We were pleasantly surprised to see a staff coming out to welcome us as we stepped out of the cab. Overall, we were satisfied with the service provided by the hotel to make our stay memorable especially helping us to arrange a cab to bring us to see plum blossoms. Breakfast was served in Western style but we also got to taste some Tainan local delights. The hotel is located near interesting eateries and within walking distrance to some attractions. Local bus stop is nearby and it's a short distance bus ride to Anping Old street. The room that we stayed is small but cozy. However, the aircon is centrally controlled so they offered to provide extra blanket when we feedbacked that the room was a bit too cold. We were also not used to the open concept of the toilet and bathroom with only a glass door.

I don’t normally write reviews but this place was really great. Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, small room but comfortable bed, clean and has a nice shower. Also liked the breakfast and the communal area where you can sit. Will definitely recommend this to friends that come to Tainan.

I've been here 5 times. 5 different rooms and 5 different themes... the hotel never disappoints: never-failing service, great location to reach nearby culturally significant places, good quality breakfast, complimentary bicycles. Every time I drop by Tainan, I always pay a visit.

Unique Awesome Cultural Experience”
The JJ W Hotel provided an incredible experience. This architectural design project offered an incredible collective space (2nd floor lounge, lobby and breakfast area) and amazing, individually designed rooms. They aren't huge (small or medium sized) and they are quirky and one has to be careful about missteps and stairs in some, but it is a really incredible space and place, the highlight of my Taiwan "hotels" easily. If you want standard excellence, try the Fu Ward; but this place is above and beyond that. The staff was incredible - welcoming, helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty over and over. I met people in the lounge at the hotel who showed me around the neighborhood as well. I received a room upgrade and special treats at breakfast. Note: contrary to at least one review here or elsewhere, the hotel *does* offer in room internet. It *is* well-located. And again, you can't beat the design or the staff. Amazing find.

Quaint little hotel with architectural designs!”
located in between the bustling main commercial centre to the right and the pub street to the left. Lovely and unique hotel with its architectural designs, definitely stands out from the rest of the buildings in the whole city! Rooms are confortably small but sufficient space to move around. Clean and tidy interiors with quaint little features and interior designs. Opportunity for photographers to snap a few photos. But most important point, was the very freindly and extremely helpful staff! English speaking and attentive to your needs and queries. We got some good advice on where best to sample the best local food and places to go. Would have stayed a few more nights but for the hotel being fully booked for the whole weeek!! oh, not forgetting a very sumptous and lovely breakfast too!

Nice location and excellent services ”
We drove to the hotel so no transportation issue. Staffs are very nice and kind, caring of all your needs. Room is great and featured with a big, comfortable bed. We booked the smallest (cheapest) room but it's not small nor cheap. It's very clean, surrounded with lots of old markets and shopping streets for developing. I will definitely go there next time!

Good hotel. Good Staff. Would Recommend. ”
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very helpful with everything, including recommending places to see and eat. The room was small, but about average when compared to others I stayed in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The bed was conformable, and the breakfast was also very good. The hotel is downtown among some of the older temples, but there was not all that much close by. it is also a ways from the other major sites in the city. Overall very good hotel, just with a few limitations.

Definitely recommend people to stay. Nice decorated and the room is comfy. Hotel staff is very helpful; I mentioned that it was my first time to visit the city and they took a map out and circled things worth trying. We passed by the reception while going out (and it was raining), the staff asked us if we have brought umbrella and offered us 2. Breakfast was served by staff rather than buffet, which was very nice.

Charming Artsy hotel with personalized service”
This was once an old local hotel but was later transformed into a modern trendy hotel. The lobby displays some designer clothes and accessories. At the basement is a venue for rent to art events. For the breakfast, guests are asked for their time preference. The reason is that set courses are served at certain hours. Each course is well-presented and gives the guests a chance to taste not just the “usual” western breakfast food but also the local Taichung delicacy. For the room, the wooden floor and cement ceilings shows a glimpse of the old building which adds beauty to the room. The shampoo and body wash are imported from France. The space to walk around the room is not that big. The street where the hotel is located has some interesting fashionable clothes shops and small coffee/teashops. There is one Japanese ice cream store close to the hotel where people queue. In the evening, you can just walk to the main road and try one of the teashops, local Taichung restos, and bars. The hotel is not far from the famous old street, Shennong Jie. The narrow street is sandwiched by antique wooden houses. You can buy souvenirs here (not many) and have a sip of coffee. One more thing, bikes can be rented from the hotel!

Great location by the market, great design and staffs. The staff took us on a tour of the hotel and explained the concept of our room. Famous tourist locations are in walking distance. Very satified and would definitely visit again.
