Exploring Hanoi ”
It was our first time in Hanoi, with research and recommendation we decided to stay in the old quarter. The moment you arrive, its surreal from the attentiveness of the staff to the warm reception and the actual hotel itself lives up to expectation. Great location and very accessible on foot to the wonderful delights of the best street food available surrounded with rows and rows of gift shops and coffee house, it pretty much lived up to our expectation. Would definitely come back to stay at the JM Marvel, hospitality with a heart and a big thank you to all for the unforgettable stay and not to forget the handwritten card from the GM, Martin Nguyen and also the farewell gift presented by Madam Felicia, was a nice touch. 5 Stars ratings!!!
Comfortable stay in the heart of Hanoi”
It’s our first time in Hanoi and we choose JM Marvel. It’s fairly new hotel . Room are small but please understand there no large size rooms in Old Quarters. Breakfast were simple and yummy. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Especially the front desk staffs . We stayed two nights and booked airport services. Everything went pretty well. Nice and easy. Hotel located within walking distance to the railway, swan lake and church. Many local eateries that you can taste of true Vietnamese food. Loved it !
Ending my Hanoi trip with a Bang!”
A great hotel with victorian themed interiors. The people at JM Marvel were warm and polite, ever ready to offer help in any way. From the time of arrival to checking out, their services were commendable. We were greeted and served their specially brewed welcome tea which caught us by surprise. It was delicious! They even offered luggage transfer service from hotel to hotel (we were staying at a previous one prior to this). They were responsive when we had any questions and gave their sincere food recommendations even though we didn’t ask for them. The room was cosy and beautifully set. They even have a sleeping robe on top of the usual bathrobes seen in hotels. I like that we could watch Netflix on the TV (for those who have accounts). The hotel is new and thoughtfully furnished. It is also close to the Hanoi Street Train attractions and good food hunts where you can explore during your trip. For travellers who have evening/night flights, the hotel offers a luggage storage and shower options upon check out and before you leave. I really enjoyed my stay and was glad I chose this hotel during my visit there.
Great hotel...Great staff”
I stayed at the Marvel for 3 nights with my girlfriend this June on our way through North Vietnam. The hotel is very nice, one of the best if not the best in the old quarter of Hanoi in my opinion. The room was kept very clean and everything was in working order. It’s in a great position to be able to walk to most of the places you would want to see in the old quarter. I must say I cannot fault the staff there, they were all fantastic. It’s also worth visiting the spa they have on the lower level. It’s very reasonably priced for the level of treatment you get. Well done and thanks Anna and the team
JM Marvel simply Marvelous ”
JM Marvel, is just a gem of a hotel In the heart of the Old Quarter. Super close to everything. The Spa is also a must enjoy. The rooftop bar has amazing views of Hanoi. Very clean and amazing staff and the food is just marvelous.
Masterclass in Service”
You never know what you're going to get when you travel, and it's always nice to be surprised in a good way. My stay at JM Marvel has set a new benchmark for what I will expect from a boutique hotel in this price range. The staff, particularly Ria and Anna, made our stay so much easier and all the more pleasant. They organised all of our onward travel from Ha Noi despite (in hindsight) our plans not making a whole lot of sense. We always had plenty to do and see in Ha Noi courtesy of excellent recommendations that felt very much tailored to the things we said we'd enjoyed from previous days. The facilities are great, too, to the point that I'd struggle to find fault: the rooms were very well appointed, modern, and spotlessly clean, and there were great views of the city from the suite we chose. To top it all off, they had one of the best buffet breakfasts I've had while travelling. I can't recommend this place highly enough; excellent from check-in to check-out.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff”
At the front desk, Justin met us when we arrived to check-in and took a small survey to understand our vacation intentions/plans. It was a good start as they called us by name every time we met and asked where we were going to and if we needed any assistance. The hotel had a nice luxury boutique feel with a personal touch from the staff. It was brought to my attention that if we needed anything they could send someone out to buy it for us, be it show tickets, local coffee supplies to take home and even offered to send us to the airport at the same rate as I would use the GRAB app. The driver came in a sedan and was in a suit. VND250,000 for airport transfer, better than the taxi rate that I arrived in. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk to the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. For me, I would put that as the center of Hanoi. Exploring around the Old Quarters by foot is the way to go. Using Thang Long as a beacon we manage to see a lot of this old city.
Second stay at JM Marvel after traveling to Trang An. Excellent hotel and staff, but even the family room does not have a bathtub. Might be the only fault i can think of.
Nice Boutique Hotel within Hanoi Old Quarters”
Location of the hotel is fabulous, walkable distance to most except for two or three key attractions in Hanoi. The hotel’s restaurant serves wonderful Vietnamese food at reasonable prices. The staff makes you feel welcome and will try to accommodate your requests. If you want a no frills hotel within the old quarters, this is a good option. P.S. Check your rooms before booking. Some of which do not come with a window....
Pretty place with great location and superb serivce”
Although the room was a little smaller than we have expected (triple share), the superb service made up for everything. Hotel location is great too with everything that’s recommended for visiting in Hanoi old quarter being just a stone throw away.
Outstanding customer service ”
This hotel and its sister hotel the Marvellous are perfectly situated for all the local amenities. 10 minute walk from the lake and the Night Market in the opposite direction. The staff, in particular, Anna, were amazing. She spoke fantastic English which helped us a lot and could not do enough for us in helping to organise the next stage of our journey including allowing us to leave our luggage for 3 days while we headed further north. When our plans had to change due to a cancelled flight they rearranged airport pickups and allowed us an early check in. They allowed us to transfer the prepaid airport pick up to our return home Taxi drop off. We were a group of 4 adults travelling together and would recommend this city hotel thoroughly.
Real gem in Hanoi Old Quater”
This is areal gem located on the edge of the Old Quarter - in a more quite road but in walking distance of all the sites. The rooms are so beautifully done out and are so well equipped. The breakfast is great. The best part though is the service experienced from the staff - amongst the best we have seen in our pretty wide travels. Special mention of Daniel Nguyen - Guest Services Manager - goes out of his way to give great service and help.
Superb Hotel with excellent service”
We really enjoyed our stay in the old quarter. The Hotel provided everything we expect from a good hotel: clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice interior, excellent service and good WiFi. Recomendable in every regard!
Stayed here for 2 nights, wanted to experience what's like to stay in a boutique style hotel but wont be returning. There were some construction noise from the building next door in the daytime and if you're not planning for a relaxing holiday i guess this shouldn't be an issue. Bed and room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't that great especially compared to the other boutique hotel i stayed in Hanoi. I had mild food poisoning from the hotel restaurant on the top floor on my last evening in Hanoi. The hotel front desk took great care of me after but the incident kinda ruined the experience of my stay.
Excellent service from all the staffs in the hotel. Very impressed indeed”
Loving the services from all the staffs from both prior to travelling (with the arrangement of transportation and tour packages) and during the stay. The staffs are attentive and very helpful. The hotel decoration is cute for those who loves to take photos. The room is clean and is in the old city area. Could not ask for a better value for money.
A little noisy even in the early mornings, but that can’t be helped as Old Quarters is a busy “hawker” district, and room/hotels are facing/on a busy side street. Friendly staff and very clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast buffet selection is limited, and just moderately tasty. Was a little disappointed that staff requested repeatedly we not provide a review online as I’d rated the hotel less than a perfect 10 - I think they should review this policy as it alters the public perception of the hotel. Not the best approach.
A true gem of a hotel”
The decor and ambience are awesome. Lobby is brilliant as are the rooms and bed. The staff are professional, polite and so helpful. I doubt you can get a better location in the old quarter. We loved our stay.
Very good service”
Staffs are passionate to serve, Lucy is one of the representatives. Pretty design and decoration. Highly recommend to all tourists, you surely will have a pleasant stay in Hanoi.
Honestly the best hotel I've ever stayed at”
Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The staff go above and beyond every opportunity they get. The decor and finish is contemporary Edwardian and beautiful. The bed is super comfy and the breakfast delightful. I have stayed in hotels 5x the price that weren't as nice. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
Going the extra mile”
I've arrived at the hotel with the family and we got served tea, which was good and start to feel very relaxed, then I got reminded about child policy, the need for extra bed, additional payment and so on. I felt a bit annoyed also when told about 3% extra charge by using credit card. The room itself had floor made by cheap linoleum. I felt I was overpaying. After lot, the staff pleasantly surprised me. They offered us early breakfast as we were leaving to airport very early, offered free transit to airport as a token for the additional cost on extra bed. Overall despite an initial negative, we really appreciated the staff and the way they have been kind to us.
