Very attentive and helpful staff during midnight check-in. Clean room and facilities. Hot water shower facility and a bathtub. Basic toiletries with 2 freshly laundered bath towels, 2 hand towels and floor towel mats were provided. Double bed not available for non-smoking room. However two large single beds, each able to accommodate 2 average size adults, was more than adequate & comfortable. This hotel has seen much better days as a premier hotel in Johor Bahru. Late check-out at 2pm. was offered upon request. If you are driving, covered FREE parking is available for hotel guests. At a bargain offer of RM153 per night, I recommend The Puteri Pacific Hotel in Johor Bahru. It may have seen glorious days in the past but its 5 star charm, hospitality and comfort is evident & welcomes the weary traveller.”

Although the price of the room is a bit on the high side (compared to nearby hotels), I think the overall feel and room condition were value-for-money. The staffs were very friendly and it was really nice of them to allocate us to the highest floor (Level 23) even though they could not secure a double-bed room for us. We also tried the infinity pool at Level 25 and it was great! The pool was clean and the view was great! Lastly to add, the availability of Thai Odyssey (one of the value-for-money thai massage in JB) within the hotel and the close proximity to KSL Mall were icing to the cake. “Stayed at Amari for one night with my partner and I must say the hotel's location is fantastic and ideal for a short trip across the Causeway. It is just a short walk from the Johor Bahru checkpoint and across the road from two popular shopping malls — City Square and Komtar JBCC. In terms of customer service, we had a pleasant check-in experience and received a free upgrade to a junior suite (we had originally booked an executive club king room). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, nothing to complain about at all. The "pillow menu" we found at our bedside table was a nice welcome touch as well although we did not utilise it. Breakfast buffet selection was also quite varied and we enjoyed it very much. We did not manage to try the rest of the dining options at Amari given our short stay. While Amari's rates are certainly more expensive than the average hotel in Johor Bahru, I'd say it's worth the splurge especially if you're looking for a nice place for a quick getaway.”

“we enjoyed our stay at new york hotel. we found the room spacious and comfortable. the ceiling is high and we had a beautiful view of johor bahru city from our hotel window. the restaurant on the ground floor serves fine food at affordable prices. both local food and western cuisine were available. we also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. when a bedside lamp was found blown, the staff replaced it promptly. the restaurant manager coped well with stress when it was crowded and we needed fast service.”

“thistle is our regular hotel in johor bahru, malaysia due to the value for money and hygiene level. location of hotel located on its own and if you want to travel out, you will need either your own vehicles or a cab. the bell boy would be more than willingly to get a cab for you at a charge of rm$2 (fixed booking charge of this rate for all cabs in johor bahru) room size (deluxe vs standard) all rooms are spacious as compared to other hotels i had stayed in. deluxe room have a bigger toilet but small living quarter whereas the standard room have a bigger living quarter but a smaller toilet size. hygiene standard rooms are pretty clean just that there are some bed-sheets that had stained in it; most probably they could not remove it. other than that, the hygiene standard is pretty good. deluxe room also come with an extra chair and the bed is way bigger. recommend to just go for the standard room which is cheaper if you are on a budget and someone who is going to spend most of your time in the living quarter and not the toilet and does not need the extra chair. room view the rooms are located too far away from the sea and the city view is facing a miserable highway therefore i’ll strongly recommend you to stick to the cheapest grade of room (standard room; city view) and not upgrade your room just for the sea view as recommended by others unless you do not mind forking out the extra money (pictures of the view are attached) *some sea-view room face the hospital and you will be able to hear the ambulance siren at night. i stayed at a pretty high floor room and yet still able to hear them. request for a room that is not facing the hospital if you are looking for some quality sleep.”

Room amenities were well-maintained. Probably the only grouse was we only found out that we could get other types of pillows by calling the Care Line after 11pm, and there was no one to pick up the call when I tried calling. So we had to make do with the overly-soft and flimsy standard pillows in the room. Our room booking included breakfast at the hotel's Makan Kitchen and we must say it was a wise choice. The breakfast buffet spread was really scrumptious, and were of good quality too. Really an enjoyable meal to start the day with. Make sure you allocate enough time for breakfast!”

“Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!”

This hotel deserves more than a three stars rating. Location is extremely good. The hotel are surrounded by most of the favourite/popular shopping centres and hawkers in Johor Bahru. Such as the tebrau hawker and KSL shopping mall just behind, pelangi just up a little, and a night hawker selling really delicious local food just across the road. All these places are within walking distance. Breakfast spread are considered good and atas (for the price you paying) with Egg station. I greatly recommend this hotel to everyone. Looking forward to my next visit. CONS: Shower heater abit slow in heating up the water. I have to let the water run for 15 minutes before I could step in. TV channels abit bland with local channels. Can be improved by adding some Movie Channels like Fox or HBO or Thrill.”

The only thing that the management should improve is the selection of TV channels. There were no Malaysia TV channels available (there were only Singapore and Indonesia channels available). Reached at 6pm, check in was easy, went to room, it looked nicer than in the pictures, bed was Super comfy, toilet was really clean and nice, no bad smell. Location wise, it’s just a 5 - 6RM grab ride from city square. Feeling hungry at night, can just go to Banafee Restaurant which is just less than a minute walk from hotel. Awesome and recommended!!”

“Stayed a night with my family and two young kids. Booked the apartment with private pool. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Room is especially spacious and can accommodate up to 6 pax at least with a 3 rooms and washroom. Our room is located at the 7th floor and conveniently connected to the bigger public pool, gym and playground. Cutting across to the Dinosaur Water Theme Park is a nightmare. Even the staff can give wrong instruction as well as the signages. Very misleading. Private parking separate from the mall gives that extra space and security. Will recommend.”

It didn't look appealing and thought that I won't be getting my money's worth. But lo and behold, Hotel CIQ delivered the superb service without the pricey cost of a regular hotel. The room can fit 3 adults, 1 child. Wifi had strong signal in the room and gave us opportunity to download our pictures online right away at no cost. The bathroom was spacious, with hot-cold water. Complete standard amenities like electric kettle, Malaysian coffee, bottled water daily, clean towels and bed sheets, air conditioning was working at good condition, fridge and safe available. The staff were very accommodating and kudos to them for their immediate responses to our demands. The ambience outside was ok and safe. There is a nearby convenience store complete with stuff that you can buy at a very affordable price. 1L of bottled water that cost less than 1Ringgit compared to 7-11 that you can buy worth 3Ringgit. Bread, biscuit, drinks hot cold available until midnight. The hotel is 10mins away by cab from their famous shopping malls like JB City Square and KSL, while less than 30mins taxi from Legoland. Had a nice stay in Johor Bahru and thanks to this Hotel for the pleasant accommodations given to us. 2 thumbs up!!!”

“So huge, clean, new and beautiful. I cannot find a fault. Pictures don't give justice to the place. It is better in real life. We were at the 30th level and overlooking Singapore. Mr. King contacted me thru Whatsapp and provided details of checking in as we have arrived Johor Bahru almost midnight. He made sure everything are covered before he left. My children enjoyed the pool and the play area a lot. Clean and not crowded. Safety is also topnotch. Very very easy to get Grab car for 6 pax going to Legoland, Sanrio Hello Kitty and KSL mall. We also didn't encounter any problems with our private transfer to and from Changi airport. Check out is straightforward. Mr. King assisted us from start to checking out. I will definitely choose Pinnacle Tower again if ever I will be back to Johor Bahru.”

Near holiday inn plaza but need to walk quite a Bit. Else can take bus. Cons: Toothpaste n toothbrush not provided. Limited place to eat for halal eaters. Non halal quite a few down e road. Swimming pool basic. Rubbish gotta throw outside the homestay at the designated rubbish chute. Access card sometimes works sometimes don't. Overall stay was pleasant. Miyaco is pretty helpful. Easy to get grab. Easy to move around if u r driving. But drop off n pick up can be quite unpleasant. Will come back if there is no availability at other homestay due to eating place very limited. “Hostel offer the closet proximately to the Johor immigration by 15 min walk. Walking to the immigration johor Malaysia will bring you the the Singapore woodland. Immigration in johor not only as the check point for guest to go in and out Singapore but also as a connecting point where the hostel, transportation hub and johor city. Walking through the immigration you will reach Jb central where is the transportation hub for bus and train station. You can take a bus to all major johor shopping mall, shelter bus go to all tourist attraction places like legoland, johor premier outlet for off season branded appeal, hello kitty and puteri harbour. Walking from hostel to the transportation hub JB central is about 20 min. Another 5 min walk will bring you the singaporen made famous city suqare shopping centre and johor old city facing the causeway of singapore. if you like to explore the Malaysia more the train station or the Larkin Johor bus hub offer interstates bus station can bring you all around Malaysia like penang and melaka. We also have the night train in the Johor Central beside immigration where you can sleep in the train over night and reach kuala lumpur kl in next early morning and take the free shelter around kl like KLCC, KL tower and many more. After you finish a day tour in KL you can take night train sleep the way back to johor again. The train ticket is only RM33 each way. Other than shopping and travel around Malaysia, our hostel also offer short trip and good amenities around the hostel. We have a good indoor basket ball, badminton court and community park just two row of house back of the hostel. We have many local eateries like seafood, chinese food, malay food and very good indian food near by. Myself preferred the indian food in the johor town near to the city indian temple. From hostel to the community sport, leisure park food court, grocery stall and famous seafood is just 10min walk. If you are adventure enough you can try local famous food”

“This is my third time in Johor Bahru. I'm not a frills type of guy. I just want a clean place and most important is internet service. There are no windows in the rooms I've had. But it's clean (to me) and it has a private bath and shower. I can stay here for a 4 or 5 days for the price of one night in a small Singapore Chinatown hotel or for the same price as a low end youth hostel. Then again I like eating at the street restaurants with the local people. This is not a place for the people who need to see eye candy all around them.”

As it's very near to City Square and JB Central, it only took 3-minute by taxi (cost you about RM5). The staff is friendly, and they're quite fast to help you check-in and check-out. For vegetarian travelers, there is one vegetarian restaurant in City Square, the price is reasonable and it's tasty, you can ask the Information centre for the restaurant. “The location is exactly at the city center, walking distance to the JB Central bus station, the street quit busy since along the way there is a street hawker steel food for dinner/supper so if you feel hungry at midnight iit's not a big issue. The street environment have to be more alert, Meldrum walk(food hawker), Night Bazaar, Johor bahru City Center Mall, Komtar Mall, Galleria Mall is walking distance. The staff is very friendly (Watie if not mistaken) the hotel currently upgrading so sometimes a noise. the rest is ok for me.”

Withing a walking distance to a shopping mall, night market so called JB Bazar aka Pasar Karat, train station, taxi station, etc. Just a few minutes away from CIQ ( Singapore ). About 20 minutes to Legoland and Hello Kitty, and 30 minutes to Johore Premium Outlet. The room itself is very spacious. Very confortable for a family trip. A free car park is provided at the lower ground, make it very convinient to and from the hotel room itself. All the basics necessacities are OK such as hot water, aircond, and TV ( unfortunately no remote control ). The satff are all very friendly and helpful. Overall, really worth the money ...”

“The staffs were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and corridor has been newly renovated. The rooms are spacious, bed are comfy, room facilities are well arranged, toiletries are sufficient. This hotel deserves more than a three stars rating. Location is extremely good. The hotel are surrounded by most of the favourite/popular shopping centres and hawkers in Johor Bahru. Such as the tebrau hawker and KSL shopping mall just behind, pelangi just up a little, and a night hawker selling really delicious local food just across the road. All these places are within walking distance. Breakfast spread are considered good and atas (for the price you paying) with Egg station. I greatly recommend this hotel to everyone. Looking forward to my next visit. CONS: Shower heater abit slow in heating up the water. I have to let the water run for 15 minutes before I could step in. TV channels abit bland with local channels. Can be improved by adding some Movie Channels like Fox or HBO or Thrill.”

“Stayed at Amari for one night with my partner and I must say the hotel's location is fantastic and ideal for a short trip across the Causeway. It is just a short walk from the Johor Bahru checkpoint and across the road from two popular shopping malls — City Square and Komtar JBCC. In terms of customer service, we had a pleasant check-in experience and received a free upgrade to a junior suite (we had originally booked an executive club king room). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, nothing to complain about at all. The "pillow menu" we found at our bedside table was a nice welcome touch as well although we did not utilise it. Breakfast buffet selection was also quite varied and we enjoyed it very much. We did not manage to try the rest of the dining options at Amari given our short stay. While Amari's rates are certainly more expensive than the average hotel in Johor Bahru, I'd say it's worth the splurge especially if you're looking for a nice place for a quick getaway.”

“thistle is our regular hotel in johor bahru, malaysia due to the value for money and hygiene level. location of hotel located on its own and if you want to travel out, you will need either your own vehicles or a cab. the bell boy would be more than willingly to get a cab for you at a charge of rm$2 (fixed booking charge of this rate for all cabs in johor bahru) room size (deluxe vs standard) all rooms are spacious as compared to other hotels i had stayed in. deluxe room have a bigger toilet but small living quarter whereas the standard room have a bigger living quarter but a smaller toilet size. hygiene standard rooms are pretty clean just that there are some bed-sheets that had stained in it; most probably they could not remove it. other than that, the hygiene standard is pretty good. deluxe room also come with an extra chair and the bed is way bigger. recommend to just go for the standard room which is cheaper if you are on a budget and someone who is going to spend most of your time in the living quarter and not the toilet and does not need the extra chair. room view the rooms are located too far away from the sea and the city view is facing a miserable highway therefore i’ll strongly recommend you to stick to the cheapest grade of room (standard room; city view) and not upgrade your room just for the sea view as recommended by others unless you do not mind forking out the extra money (pictures of the view are attached) *some sea-view room face the hospital and you will be able to hear the ambulance siren at night. i stayed at a pretty high floor room and yet still able to hear them. request for a room that is not facing the hospital if you are looking for some quality sleep.”

“Excellent place to stay if you want to stay in the Johor Bahru city. Very near to the Causeway crossing to Singapore. If you are planning to go to Universal Studio Singapore, can just stay here instead of staying in Singapore. Room was comfortable & good. There is no kid's pool but there one adult pool. Not that big though. ”

“The locations is fantastic as the residence is inside KSL mall itself. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Owner forgotten to provide the towels, but was very prompt to take action and deliver them quickly. The apartment was on a high floor which was a great view of JB city. The only disappointment was the shower water heater.. there was nearly no heated water at all. Overall is a pleasant stay.”

“I have booked many hotels with Agoda and they were all great. But this time I was very disappointed. This apartment is owned by a individual who was not very hospitable. The owner did not tell the rules until the apartment was paid for. I requested early check in or late check out and they totally ignored my request not replying me. Secondly I had had someone come to hand me the key. We went in with our footwear and were checking the WiFi collection. The staff took a photo of us and sent it to the owner. I did not give him permission to take my picture. It is breach of privacy. The owner immediately what's app me rudely. "what? you walked in with shoes. Didn't you read the rules?" I find this very offending. All the staff had to do was remind us to remove the shoe and we would have done it. I will never recommend this apartment. Rude staff and ridiculous rules. And they will photograph you in the room without your permission.”

“It’s was a horrible stay. Sofa were spoilt. Lift system is lousy, 3 individual own system. take very long time and often full during peak hour. Have to go down via stairs to reach to car park. Overall, it’s really a bad experience. Despite the location were good, the go-thru link door only open from 10am-10pm. If u go for mid night movie At Ksl, u have to go by lvl 6.”

“Is to our surprised it is like AirBnb since we want to book hotel that's why we use Agoda. After making booking, the owner contacted us and we have to liase with the owner which we find it troublesome. However, the owner has good service and fast response. Clean Room and good location. A little dissappointed with Agaoda Apps since we though only hotel is available and for future we have to aware it may be AirBnb type.”

“Host is really friendly and replies promptly to requests. kind to allow a later check out the following day as accommodation is not booked by others Really good location, easy to find, with many eateries around. Really safe as well, security guards, and access can only be done by access card. Apartment is big and spacious. Things inside are pretty new and clean. There are also availability of facilities as such gym and pool.”

She is readily available to answer questions and would go the extra mile to update on how to do the check in and check out as well as giving early updates to the availability of the room. “This was my 1st time booking apartment stay with agoda, the "check in" procedure was unclear, and unfriendly. No instructions was given, telling us how and where to check in. After 2 days of hassel with agoda customer service, I finally got the owner number. I had booked a 3 room apartment, owner only can provide 2 room apartment, but with beds enough for 8 person, and had promised to refund RM100, WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. Instruction to retrieve the apartment keys were not very clear. Check in was delayed, could only check in after 5pm. Upon arrival, we discovered 1 bed was broken, WIFI not working, TV not properly connected. The lifts to the apartments were SUPER SLOW. Owner response to all our queries were SUPER SLOW as well. Too much work and time wasted. Will never return again.”

“The owner was friendly and even send me the guides on how to self-check-in. Stayed in Floor 21 unit and everything was working (except room TV no Digital TV), came with 2 kids (age 1&4) & 3 adults, the apartment is spacious enough for 6 pax with 2 double bed, 1 single bed & 1 spare single bed. Pasar Malam is just downstairs which available on Monday only. Apartment wise really clean & cozy, with free parking. The only complain is the design of the building & the lift (super confusing and need to wait for a very long time if during peak hours). Dinasour Water Park needs to pay for entry and to access need to walk through level 6 car park. Highly recommended.”

“I do frequent business travels to Johor Bharu and among the many places I have stayed at, this would be the BEST PLACE so far. When I first entered this house, my first thought was "I have found my dream home" - The interior of this homely place was furnished like a "smart home", with interesting gadgets and decos around the unit, even in the bathroom! The home design is dreamy yet minimalistic, as if it's fresh out from an Ikea catalogue. Cleanliness is well done; in addition to the well equipped kitchenwares, from Illy coffee machine to wine, champagne, and even brandy glasses. Filtered water tap is installed already, hence there's no need to boil water or buying bottled mineral water from the stores. The smart TV is installed with Spotify and Netflix which have been delightful at keeping me entertained. There's a PS4 unit available with a decent selection of the latest games. The host herself has been patient and hospitable in assisting me with my check-in process - Much appreciated! In short, this is definitely a place I'd return to on my next trip to Johor, if any. And I'd highly recommend this, not only to solo travellers but also for couples.”

“Last minute, no-fuss booking at a bargain price, over a long holiday weekend, was made possible with Agoda.com. Other sites offered prices 50% more than what Agoda.com offered. Very attentive and helpful staff during midnight check-in. Clean room and facilities. Hot water shower facility and a bathtub. Basic toiletries with 2 freshly laundered bath towels, 2 hand towels and floor towel mats were provided. Double bed not available for non-smoking room. However two large single beds, each able to accommodate 2 average size adults, was more than adequate & comfortable. This hotel has seen much better days as a premier hotel in Johor Bahru. Late check-out at 2pm. was offered upon request. If you are driving, covered FREE parking is available for hotel guests. At a bargain offer of RM153 per night, I recommend The Puteri Pacific Hotel in Johor Bahru. It may have seen glorious days in the past but its 5 star charm, hospitality and comfort is evident & welcomes the weary traveller.”

“This was the first time we've stayed in the hotel and I would certainly say that it won't be our last! Although the price of the room is a bit on the high side (compared to nearby hotels), I think the overall feel and room condition were value-for-money. The staffs were very friendly and it was really nice of them to allocate us to the highest floor (Level 23) even though they could not secure a double-bed room for us. We also tried the infinity pool at Level 25 and it was great! The pool was clean and the view was great! Lastly to add, the availability of Thai Odyssey (one of the value-for-money thai massage in JB) within the hotel and the close proximity to KSL Mall were icing to the cake. We will definitely recommend Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre to our friends and family who are intending to stay in JB! Thank you for the great experience!”

“we enjoyed our stay at new york hotel. we found the room spacious and comfortable. the ceiling is high and we had a beautiful view of johor bahru city from our hotel window. the restaurant on the ground floor serves fine food at affordable prices. both local food and western cuisine were available. we also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. when a bedside lamp was found blown, the staff replaced it promptly. the restaurant manager coped well with stress when it was crowded and we needed fast service.”

“Hotel is conveniently located within 10-min walk from Johor Bahru City Square & Komtar JBCC & quite easy to find. Room was modern and spacious with comfortable twin double beds. Room amenities were well-maintained. Probably the only grouse was we only found out that we could get other types of pillows by calling the Care Line after 11pm, and there was no one to pick up the call when I tried calling. So we had to make do with the overly-soft and flimsy standard pillows in the room. Our room booking included breakfast at the hotel's Makan Kitchen and we must say it was a wise choice. The breakfast buffet spread was really scrumptious, and were of good quality too. Really an enjoyable meal to start the day with. Make sure you allocate enough time for breakfast!”

“Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!”

“The hotel room is clean but kinda old. The bath towels and bed sheet in my room was torned with some holes. Luckily the cleaner there was helpful and willing to replace for us! Love the country style furniture in the hotel room and the sea view! It's also quite a convenient location for those who wanna travel in the Johor Bahru city, Singapore or take the ferry to Indonesia! You may also shop for duty free products at the shopping mall which is just right next to the hotel!”

“I actually booked this hotel for my parents and siblings who traveled to Johor Bahru. They were very impressed with the water dispenser provided in the hotel room. Besides, the staff allocated us connecting room which was ideal for us so that we do not have to leave the one room to go to another. There are some nice restaurants in and around the hotel, but the price would be on higher range. Overall, it is worth the money for a 4-star hotel!”

“We really enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable, and just a quick and cheap taxi ride to JB Sentral or City Square Mall. There's a mini-mart just below if you want some snacks. The Japanese Restaurant has an amazing dinner buffet just below. We loved the pool and the view and the gym was suitable (a bit warm, but that's not the staff's fault) I would stay again anytime.”
