It is a small but quiet and unique hotel. The decoration and service is very good!!
Spacious and Clean”
The owner, Danny, has excellent English and is very helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. Good blackout blinds. Wifi is spotty. The location is currently near to some construction but it is a 2 minute walk to the beach which has many restaurants, massage, etc. I have been back 2 years in a row. Recommended.
Very nice. Super friendly staff, Danny will greet you by name and speaks good English. Big and nice room with balcony. Good location 1m walk from the beach and restaurants. Only complaint is smell coming from the toilet, some kind of plumbing issue where urine smell came out of apparently clean toilet. I would choose this place again.
Comfort, friendly, quiet”
This is my third time staying at this guesthouse. Danny, the owner, is very hospitable, and he speaks and understands English. I like this place for it quietness for my work, readings and reflections. Will come again in the near future.
Home away from home”
We spent 10 days over the Christmas period at this lovely establishment. Due to our bus being delayed we only arrived at Morningstar after 11pm. This was no problem as Mr Danny greeted us with a friendly smile and a helping hand with the luggage, even though the reception closed at 10pm already. The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for Mr Danny - from helping us order pizza delivery right down to arranging a taxi. We will definitely make this "our" place to stay for future trips to Jomtien.
I can think of nothing bad at this hotel. The staff was great the rooms clean and good size with a matching bathroom. I had a great stay. The only thing is there is no elevator and that may bother some people. But really a great hotel I do rcomend it
Morningstar really is a Superstar ”
Make no mistake about it. The real stars at this jomtien hidden jewel are Danny longhair and his charming wife. The hotel is located near the beach but hidden from the main soi. Quite and charming, this place is clean and secure. Definitely not a backpackers place. The hotel is decorated with rock and roll memorabilia from the times when owner Danny longhair (As he was known in NY) would sell T-shirts outside Madison Square Garden back in the seventies. Helpful and English friendly. This is not my first stay. See you in September Danny!!
FOR ME PERFECT,I AM STILL HERE FOR ONE MORE MONTH AND QUITE HAPPY.I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANY ONE AND EVERY ONE TO STAY SHORT TIME OR LONG TIME, IT IS AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF PATTAYA BUT ONLY A SHORT RIDE IN THE BAHT BUS TO TRAVEL TO PATTAYA SAY 15 MINS DEPENDING ON TRAFFIC AND ONLY 10 BAHT NO NEED TO SAY ANY MORE. BY THE WAY THE HOTEL DOES NOT DO FOOD WHICH SUITS ME AS I ENJOY EATING OUT, BUT YOU CAN BRING FOOD IF YOU DESIRE. PS. .WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN. HUGH WILLIAMS
Exceptional room, good value, helpful staff”
I was amazed at this room - large and tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and furnished to a high standard. The bathroom was large and had none of the sloppy workmanship and cleaning that so often are present in mid-priced Thai accommodations. This was truly first class in its quality and presentation. But the bonus was the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel's owner. It made my trip to Pattaya much more pleasant and productive - with advice where to go and how to travel. The owner is an excellent English speaker, having lived in New York City. When I come back to Pattaya I will definitely come back to this hotel.
Clean and comfortable and close to the main road. ”
It was a great stay. I thought it a bit expensive for being further down Jomtien beach (about soi 14) and for not being right on the beach (it was a 1 minute walk down the soi). Obviously, these were minor details when looking at the whole area. The room was clean, large, had a great private balcony, had a fridge, and a comfortable king size mattress. There was also a futon couch that could sleep another person, so it may be good for a small group. The staff were knowledgeable about the area and helpful. There was a small area for free tea/coffee in the morning.
The staff were very helpful and friendly”
The hotel location is away from hustle and bustle. The Manager is very helpful and speaks excellent English. The location is close to the beach and it is only a shortlk to a number of very good beachfront restaurants. My wife and I stayed there for 8 nights and were very satisfied. we are planning to stay there again next year and would recommend the hotel to others
The manager welcomed us warmly. The hotel is at the end of jomtien road, which has a different crowd than the beachroad area which was for plus for me and my girlfriend. The walk to the hotel is quite dark at night, but short so its not an issue.
When you come in, you will like it”
This guesthouse is absolutely great for its price! Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Best wishes! Rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and generously furnished – any 4* hotel will be proud to have such. You may choose between air conditioner, ceiling fan or both. Large balcony has comfortable table, chairs and even its own sink where you may wash fruits etc. You have good Wi-Fi reception in the room and a couple of computers in the lobby. As a guesthouse it has no its own restaurant but you may find free coffee or tea in its lobby. There is a microwave as well, so you may warm up some ready-to-eat breakfast early in the morning. Later, after 10 am, it is not a problem to find good place to eat in the neighborhood. Hotel area is rather quiet, but in 150 m you find beach road and tuk-tuks taking you right to the center of Pattaya for just 10 baht per person. It is very easy to get to the night market and Tesco-Lotus as well.
Good option in a not-so-great place”
You probably can't find a better budget hotel in Jomtien than Morningstar (in terms of affordability & comfort). The rooms are huge, clean & have balconies and the owner is extremely friendly & helpful. The location is a little odd (the entrance is in a little side street behind what looks like an abandoned latex factory). But it's a short walk to the beach. As for Pattaya itself...well, I guess if you're traveling there you know what you're getting into.
wonderful clean and friendly family run hotel”
I would only stay here in future as it is a great base to explore jomtien and is only 20 baht or ten minute tut tut ride to the centre of pattaya! This hotel is slightly set back away from the noise of the main beach road and is a welcome retreat from the hussle and bussle of street vendors and passing traffic. Also very good selection of sea food restaurants within easy walking distance!
Clean large rooms”
rooms big and very clean. near to the beach good air con. the hotel was quiet at night and was easily walkable to the beach. cafes and 7/11 shops nearby. free coffee no breakfast or food served there.owner polite. place seemed secure and the bedrooms were very well cleaned with a fridge.
Lovely guesthouse with very nice management”
great place to stay, would definitely reccomend. the manager was very helpful and friendly. the rooms were massive. the ac was very quite, and we couldn't ask for anything else. great wifi, but we didn't ask for breakfast so can't comment on the food/dining.
Great place ..." great value”
Great owners , I think a Japanese guy. Free coffee and wifi. Large bedroom with air con and fridge complete with complimentary drinking water. Owner lives in property, so always on hand for advice questions. Great value. Even better for week/month rates
Spotless, Relaxing., Lots of Space in Room”
I stayed here for 2 nights in late March. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large with plenty or space. It's in a rather strange older commercial area, but provides for peace and quiet. Free coffee and water and a 3 minute walk to the beach. Cheap food also in the immediate area.
Friendly service, hard beds”
I arrived around 11 PM to check in to find the lobby of this guesthouse empty and locked. But I was able to call the number of the hotel and the owner came down from his room (I guess he lives there as well?) and checked me in. The room was very big and clean, but the bed was really hard. It's a short walk to the a quiet section of the Jomtien Beach. No food options, other than instant coffee in the lobby in the morning.
