Exceptional”
I'm a korean american and having lived in korea until 20 something, I had a good knowledge about the neighborhood. It is the center to move around, have everything to eat out (inexpensively) and location wise couldn't be better. This particular hotel might be a little hard to find for first time real foreigners, and it is in the middle of "hotel/motel district" on jong no. All the hotels in this area are more focused on the "rest rental" for couples so it may not be best with children, but like any part of Seoul, it is super safe. in terms of facility it is really great. Prettier than most big name hotels and so much more value when you think that most hotels are just one bed and a desk. My room had 2 person whirlpool tub, 2 desk top computers, free wifi, cold AC, fancy looking fixtures, etc etc. And it wasn't a special room. it is their regular as far as i know. It is great for couples and solos. The area is a well known gay area but this hotel had mostly straight couple

Lots of street food right downstairs! Cheap and good. Centralised area with many lines of subway (green, blue, orange, purple) that can bring you to the more popular popular places in seoul. The bathtub has got jaccuzzi, great for couple!

Not too bad”
Stayed 6 + 2 nights in the same deluxe double room. Recurring gripe among guests – No cupboard, meaning you live out of your suitcase. Not enough clothes hangers (two in my room). Unique gripe – Integrated remote control (fully in Korean only) for TV, AC and lighting was hard to work with and required trial and error. Remote control has no display of any sort, so you don’t know what setting it’s on. Need to point the remote to the right place (sensor next to bathroom in my room) to change lighting. Even on the lowest temperature setting (guestimate 18 degrees), the thick blanket (probably added 10 degrees) made the room too hot to sleep. Unique gripe – Minor local flooding because the shower door wouldn’t close properly. Bathtub was unusable because the water flow was too low and lukewarm. Be mindful – Free integrated washing machine and dryer on ground floor takes 2 ~ 3 hours per cycle. Location – 76 minutes by metro from Incheon Airport Station. At Jongno3(sam)-ga Station, take exit 4 (with escalator) or exit 5 (stairs only). The hotel is 150 meters away, 5 minutes tops. Lots of eateries nearby. Walkable (makes more sense to walk within 20 ~ 30 minutes radius) to major attractions (Changgyeonggung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, Gyeongbokgung Palace, The National Folk Museum of Korea, National Palace Museum of Korea, Gyeonghuigung, Deoksugung Palace Royal Guard-Changing Ceremony, Myeongdong shopping/food district, Dongdaemun Market, Gwangjang Market, Insadong art/shopping/food district). Verdict – Not too bad. Wouldn’t advise against staying but the hotel could do better in terms of hardware.

Great location, value for money.”
I booked standard double room, but the room i got is totally different with what photos showing in agoda. the room is acceptablec but just not as expected, i asked for change of room as per photos shown but staff was not english speaker hence i give up. overall staying in Amare hotel was great anyway and room cleaning did everyday without fail, complimentary of drinks and bottle waters get filled daily as well.this hotel is romantic type and suits couple. hotel located near exit 5 of line 1,3 and 5 which very convenient for daily commute. nearby there are alot of local restaurants and fast foods, even local roadside stalls. highly recommend but would suggest Amare to update photos in agoda.com to avoid the arguement.

Great location! Staff attends to your needs! Abundance of F&B shops around the area!”
Near to 3 metro lines. Very accessible to places. 24hrs front desk counter staff. Hotel staffs are attentive to our needs and willing to help even if their command of English is not so good. Free coffee at the lobby. Laundry is also available. There are a few small alleyways leading to the hotel, but safe even when we came back in the early hours. Cons: You might bump into some drunks here and there because of the entertainment around the area , just let them be and not provoke. Towels are changed and rooms are made every day. Mineral water, instant coffee and soft drinks are complimentary and are replenished daily. Tips: Nearest metro is Jongno sam(3) ga station. Use exit 1 where there is an escalator, if you are bringing your luggage or heavy stuffs. Airport bus is nearby to Exit 1 too, but we didn't take it,hence forgotten the bus no.

Excellent”
Very happy with room size. Lots of room for our luggages and shopped items. Location is excellent! It is a short walk away from the bus station including Airport limousine bus, and the metro. It is also within walking distance from Insadong, Bukchon Hanok village, and the Palace. Towels and complimentary drinks were replaced daily, however, corners of the bathroom floor are not cleaned very well. Overall excellent budget hotel. Would book again.

Excellent hotel - clean, helpful and great location”
We stayed at this hotel for a week while travelling Seoul. The location was so central to everything we needed and anything further was accessible via the subway station which was a 3min walk. Other reviews have said things about an alleyway but it is genuinely very safe and not difficult to find at all. Alleyways are common ground in Asia because of a shortage of space in cities. Our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and the complimentary drinks in the mini fridge were replaced without fail. They never came in or knocked on our door for housekeeping whilst we were in, room was only ever cleaned whilst we were out - such a good feeling to come home to a clean room even if we had only left at 10pm. There were heated floors in the room which was a godsend. We stayed on both the 3rd and 9th floor due to a booking error on my end - both rooms were quiet without any street noise. The staff were amazing, we arrived at midnight to check in and there were people to greet us, show us to our room and explain how to use the remote which controls the lights, tv and aircon. (Just as we approached the end of our stay they installed a new tv system which now includes YouTube and more English channels which was great). Even when we came home at 4am there would be someone available to help with anything we needed. There wasn't a wardrobe but that isn't really an issue as we just used our suitcase. There is laundry and ironing facilities downstairs which staff are happy to show you how to use if you can't read Korean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, such a great experience and I couldn't recommend it more. Thank you for a lovely week :-)
