A joy to stay at!
I love this place! It’s in a real neighborhood and the owners are so nice and made sure we were comfortable in every regard. When they found out we were vegan they personally showed us a great spot to eat by walking with us there. Clean place, great value for your money.

Friendly owner, clean room with excellent facilities and service.
The room is very big and clean, we got a balcony as well. The owner is very friendly and fruit snacks were provided for us at night during our stay, we got to chill and talk with the owner and other residents at the living room at night. However, it is a bit far from Hualien city so we got to take the cab which costs NT$100. Overall, great stay!

Comfortable stay but too far away from amenities
Room, Hot Shower, Staff
We booked 1 triple room (1 double, 1 single bed) and my request stated clearly in getting 3 single beds as seen the capacity of the rooms are 3 adults. upon check in, have to pay extra for additional person (claimed that room only fits 2 adults). Hot shower was great, but towels are too small. Could only use for hair or facial towel. Very far away from amenities, even cab drivers are not too sure of the location. We have to walk so far to convenience stores/ night market.

Great familiy Guesthouse, owner very friendly
Owner made travel arrangements, very clean and quiet
We enjoyed ourstay in Hualien. We reached late in the evening. The Guesthouse is located in a housing neighbourhood, but our taxi driver managed to find it. The owner was waiting for us and warmly welcomed us. He then sad down with us and discussed our plans for the next day. He had several suggestions and helped us to book a tour for us for the next day. The room was very big, clean and comfortable. It was a 15 minutes walk to the night-market which was fine. After all a great place to stay! Thanks

very comfortable stay
feeling like home, clean and cheap washing
Its a good value for this price. The room is very comfortable and clean, but its a little bit far away from the train station. so u have to take a taxi. Near the Hotel u can find a temple and a very nice nightmarket with impressive food and drinks. The owner is friendly but cant speak english.

We had a great time staying at Joy B&B.
This B&B is clean, centrally located, and the owners are great!
Staying at Joy was perfect for our trip to Hualien and Taroko Gorge. If you know a bit of Chinese, it will be helpful as only half of the husband and wife team speaks English. (Although with no Chinese you'd be fine as they are very attentive and extremely nice!) Our room was impressively clean with AC, fast wifi, nice beds/pillows, and a great bathroom. The place can be a bit tricky to find in the dark, but they'll come out to find you if you get tripped up with the crazy signage and mix of old and new pinyin. In general I'd say Hualien is best if you have a car or scooter, these guys have parking so you don't have to worry about finding it once you arrive. I think they're about twenty minutes from the entrance to Taroko, if I remember correctly. Joy B&B was perfect for our few days in the park as we'd hike during the day and come back to shower and sleep. A great value for the price!
