COZY AND NICE”
The place I would like to stay longer. Everything was good. I was worried because it was bit far from downtown Cat Ba, but next time I go to Cat Ba Island, I will stay here again. The staffs were very kind and nice. He explained about staying well and even suggested some services that were for me. In particular, the one-day tour he suggested was absolutely perfect. You can rent a motorbike, it's cheap and it doesn't take long to get to the town. The room was so cozy and comfortable. Simple meals made right in the kitchen were also very good. During our 3 days and 2 nights stay, we were absorbed in the atmosphere of this place, so drank over 20 cans of beer. Miss that place.

Wonderful ”
Stayed 3 nights. Lovely clean huts, hot shower too. Ming the owner was brilliant, helpful and informative. Rented moped for duration from homestay at cheap rate. Great for exploring the island, hardly any traffic too. Lan Ha bay is a must do, Ming arranged that too. Lovely early morning run along coast and small deserted beach just down the road for a spot of solitude if needed. Fabulous

We spent 4 nights in this peaceful homestay, with a very nice and helpful Host and family. Don't hesitate to ask them ANY information and services in Cat Ba Island they will support you easily. Loved the location so quiet and we rented scooters to check out cat ba and hike. The food was better here than in town. Super clean, cool, and quiet. Great showers. Arranged a bus for us. Laundry and breakfast included. Great value!

Decent but not as peaceful as I expected”
We chose this place away from town for peace and quiet. However, it wasn’t as peaceful as I imagined due to the surroundings. Not the fault of the hotel but of the neighbors. 1) neighbor roosters 2) on sat night, there was loud music coming from somewhere in the neighborhood. I thought this was a residential neighborhood so not sure where the music was coming from but I could still hear it with ear plugs in when trying to go to sleep at 10pm. As far as the hotel itself it was mostly good but a few areas it could improve on. The good 1) the huts were in good shape with good AC and strong wifi (60 mbps). 2) the guy running the place (minh?) was helpful even though his English could use a little improvement 3) we needed a ride to the ferry port to take the ferry to Tuan chuan to catch our halong cruise. The hotel manager called a taxi and they wanted 400k. Instead, he agreed to drive us in his own car for 300k for about a 25 minute drive which seemed reasonable. Areas of improvement 1) we rented a scooter and it was old (85,000km). It did the job, just barely. We had trouble getting up hills and it really burned up gas. Only got about 70km on a full tank (filled it up with 3.5L). 2) the food in restaurant left a lot to be desired. If you wanted to order noodles, it was ramen. We ordered fried rice and it wasn’t great. The rice was old and stuck together, like when you get rice from the bottom of the rice cooker after it’s been sitting out for a while. After that we our meals in town, much better food for lower price (at Yummy 1 and 2). The included breakfast was standard cut sufficient. Overall, would I stay here again? Probably, but I would look at other options also.

Charming Bungalow!”
Such a thought fully designed little bungalow. It has a rustic feel, but with all the comforts. Bed is like a futon, a bit hard, but I slept well on it! Loved the big open window and the peaceful setting. Host was most welcoming, and breakfast was delicious!

Quiet and simple, good for 1-2 nights”
I was disappointed that this was far from any of the nice beaches. The room was spartan but lovely. The view from bed was amazixng. A great place to decompress for a night. Owner taught me how to ride motorbike, which I used to tour the island. Breakfast was great!

Noisy ”
Rooms separated by thin wall, sounded like our neighbours were in our room, if you stay here you will need a scooter or you will be isolated. Very friendly, helpful family but didn’t make up for the lack of facilities. We cut our stay short and moved on

Away from city trouble”
It‘s about 6km to Cat Ba town. You can walk, but it‘s always next to the street. You can rent a motocycle. There‘s also a busstation and woodstock beach, where the bus leaves round about every 45, but you don‘s know when. 😜 Staff is very helpful. There‘s a breakfast menu, but when we asked for vegan meal and if we could get a phó they made it for us. All food is freshly made by the owner. Simple cottages, not that much space, but it was ok. 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay here when we were actually at the bungalow and hanging out with the staff. It was way farther than we expected it to be from town, though, so it made things a challenge when getting to and from things. You'll absolutely need to get a bike

Schönes kleines Häuschen”
Die Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht, alles für einen möglich zu machen. Man hat sogar den Busfahrer angerufen, um zu fragen, ob man am Hostel abgeholt werden kann. Man kann auch vor Ort direkt einek Roller mieten für umgerechnet knapp 4€ pro Tag, sodass man flexibel nach Cat Ba Town fahren kann. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und alles war tip top!
