Clean comfortable onsen hotel”
Located at the edge of Jozankei, Grand Hotel Zuien is easily accessible from both Chitose Airport and Sapporo Station by bus. This is the last stop so you can't miss it. The lobby and rooms offer great views of the river and foliage in autumn. Onsen area is clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner buffet offers a huge variety of food. Over good recommendation for value.

better than I expected! ”
Stayed here for one night with my parents and my boyfriend. The Onsen was just ok, the room had a nice view on the 4th floor, facing the river. The buffet(dinner AND breakfast)was the part we all loved! When we stayed, there was an event called Jozankei Luminarie, going on along the river. I'd say we all had an amazing time!!

Exceptional”
Chinese staff who can speak proper Mandarin. Big and comfortable room with all basic necessities. Nice buffet dinner and breakfast. The onsen is big but the facilities are a bit aged (can see stains in indoor onsen pool). And it's a pet allowed hotel !

Exceptional”
Our first night stay was the day after the earthquake in September. Our original check-in time was for 3PM, but we did not have anywhere , as all of the stores and restaurants were closed after the earthquake. We went to the hotel at noon, and the staff was very accommodating, and let us check in well before our check in time. We had not had any meals for the whole day, and despite not having electricity, the hotel staff made sure each guest in the hotel had a free hot meal . We had udon and tempura on the table lightened with candle, that tasted so good after not having eaten all day! We felt so welcome and taken care of. The hotel did not get electricity back until 5am the next day, but they still managed to make sure we had breakfast before we left. Lastly, because we were unable to use facilities, the staff refunded us the price to use it. My husband and I were amazed at the staff’s hospitality, kindness and thoughtfulness. Thank you for all staff.

Great~”
I have no idea how big is the Jozankei but the hotel at least is reachable by bus. Bus station is just front of the hotel. Staffs could not speak well in English but they upgraded us to the biggest room. Their onsen are great and spacious. Their breakfast and dinner buffet are great too which have many choices.

Simple onsen hotel”
Recommended to stay only one night, cause there isn't much to do at Jozankei. Hotel is clean and facilities are acceptable, food was average, but overall worth it's price.

Nice view during winter”
This onsen hotel totally worth the price. Huge room and good breakfast lunch buffer. Outside the hotel is really beautiful. The bad things about the hotel is, don’t expect all the staff able to speak english to you, we find a hard time to communicate to the staff. Other than that is really a good stay.

Very good”
Great breakfast, room was huge, which was expected from the price we paid. Private onsen in room however seems a little questionable. The water in the private onsen has a lot of unknown white flakes in it, unsure what is it. Was staying in 7 other onsen hotels during my Hokkaido stay and I have not seen others like this one. However notable that the private onsen is beautiful, it was really spacious, actually the biggest we've ever seen in all our stay, and pretty too, looks great in photos. Their garden right outside their hotel is very spacious and pretty too during our Autumn stay.

Onsen and breakfast”
This hotel is very close to the bus from Sapporo, but a little longer walking to the bus to the airport. There are no shops nearby. They provide breakfast with lots of choices, and the outdoor Onsen for female is excellent but the male Ibsen is not good and not clean. The room is big with janpense style with a wide entrance.

Onsen resort hotel stay with included good breakfast and dinner options. Rather old hotel but room was big and clean for a western twin bed room. Onsen outdoor view and experience was awesome. Location not easy to find. But with free hotel shuttle its great. Contact hotel for their free shuttle. Trip to kokusai ski can be made with public bus stop 10 mins walk from hotel.

Old but well maintained onsen hotel”
Location is right beside the bus station from Sapporo. We booked 2 nights with breakfast and dinner. Breakfast and dinner buffet has a wide selection. Upon arrival late afternoon, staff was helpful and provide us instructions and a dinner pass. On our second evening, we returned late since we went to the Futami Park where they light up the path and have light effects ( NATURE LUMINARIE). Upon check out, they are charging us for dinner on the second evening. We had to inform them that we have already paid for it upon booking.

Nice view during Autumn”
Stayed in this hotel on late October, no need to turn on the heater as the room temperature is a bit hot for us. Room is not big but still has space to move around. Has a nice view to the mountain with autumn color. We really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast buffet. Try also the onsen facility if you stay here.
