Strategic location ”
Friendly staffs and very helpful. The place is strategically located in the middle of juara village. Our hotel is a chalet with a sea view, only 10 steps away to the beach. You can either hire 4WD taxi with 25mins ride to this hotel or check with the hotel for direct ferry transfer from Mersing / Tg Gemok jetty to Juara village. The room is very basic with hot shower & tv, but was okay for us since we don’t stay in the room so much. Definitely will stay here again! Thanks Juara team 😊
A peaceful and serene location”
Juara Mutiara is a bit inaccessible. Have to get down at Tekek Village and either take a sea taxi or a share cab (around MYR 20 per person) to reach the resort. As its away from civilisation, the village still has its charm. Clean and vast beach. Quite friendly and welcoming locals. The hotel has most of the basic amenities. I guess its run by a family, so probably not the best of the services. However I would say there wasn't much to complain. We were a group of 5, so picked the quad rooms. Pretty clean. No wifi in the Quad rooms though. Wifi is available only at the lobby area. So if you are looking for internet while on vacation, maybe this isn't the right resort to be. Juara village has only one restaurant (Juara Beach) where you can find some beer. I do not recommend the food at Juara beach resort though. Its relatively costly as they have a certain leverage 'coz of the drinks. So maybe carry some or buy before reaching Juara village and checkout out other restaurants. All the restaurants have standard Malay food. We used to get our lunch and breakfast at Sentai Bistro. Quite decent. All the restaurants are short on resources. So takes a while to prepare the food. Be prepared to wait for atleast half an hour for the orders on weekends. Paradise point deserves a mention as the dude really put a lot of effort to keep up with the orders. And the wait was worth it.
The staffs were so friendly and very helpful. Nice beach, great ambience and the chalet is spacious, fine and quiet. We really had fun there. No regret to choose Kg. Juara as the place to stay in Tioman. Everything's perfect. The only thing we had facing flaw is the bed got dead insects but we can tolerate with that.
We were 5 days in Juara Mutiara Resort. The Room was clean, warm water and AC, so in total a good room. Also the restaurant had good food and also a big variety. The only thing that was not that good, the people working there (for the restaurant, at the reception etc.) were not really friendly and you did not want to ask them for help or any tours. We just booked tours at other places in Juara.
Best place to stay if on a tight budget.”
We decided on a budget hotel to stay in % JMR was the cheapest we could find. Having said that, JMR eventually became the best choice for us. Yes, the rooms aren't the best but we weren't planning to stay inside the hotel all the time and thus it provided us with what it we needed - a place to sleep, shower and chill. The food there aren't that pricey and are quite tasty; we went fishing during our trip and the cooks obliged when we asked if they would cook the fishes we caught. On that note, the staff there is extremely hospitable, willing to help to you out on most of your adventure activities and whatnot. It's located on Juara Beach, which is rather far from the closest ferry terminal which is Tekek (roughly 30 minute drive). However, this makes the beach rather quiet and secluded, making it almost perfect if what you're looking for is a peaceful escape. All in all, the hotel is exactly what you pay for. Not too amazing in the room qualities, but perfect if you're spending most of your days doing activities outside the hotel. 9/10
Nice beach, Helpful Staff”
We lost a wallet with some cash and CCs inside. It was returned by much helpful staff. Realised that per head, one-way transportation charge of 25RM is standard across Juara beach. So, can't nag about it. Room service for daily cleaning is upon personal request. Good food as well but surprisingly no fresh sea food (again, that applies across all restaurants in Juara beach during our stay). Overall, good experience!
Nice place but...”
We stayed for 3 nights at Juara Mutiara. We had a beach chalet which was very well located and quiet (except the bats in the coconut trees) with good air conditioning and comfortable bed. The water heater did not work during the 2 first days...The children stayed in a 3 bed garden chalet which was next to the reception and shop. It was OK as well but no view. Bathroom is very basic and tiny. The main issue we had was with the oil / petrol pellets in the sea which made we did not enjoy really the beach... Breakfast at Mutiara restaurant is good, but we preferred other places for lunch and diner with a wider choice of meals (and beers!)
staff is punctual to drive us from Tekek Jetty to Juara. Great beach, peaceful area, Nice sea view chalet (maybe need an aircond maintenance), Walking distance to Waterfall, Easy access to shop, cafe / restaurants... and yes, staff are really friendly!
Good value, great location, with few hickups”
Unless you hire an entire boat that stops at Juara directly, you will have to transit at Tekek and hire a 4WD to take you to Juara via road. Chalet is well located just facing the sea, but blocked by a restaurant and convenience shop. Pros: - Great location. Wake up to see the sun rise. - The owners run the restaurant and shop right across. Very friendly staff as its a family business. - Fast check in, no hassle. - They provide return transport to tekek, for same fee. Cons: - Rooms right behind main road, very noisy when bikes pass by all the time. - Bed Bugs ! Myself and partner were bitten all over. Major set down here. - No alco sold on site. Need to walk about 10-15 mins to another restaurant to purchase beers - Food priced slightly more expensive then others.
Beach front chalet”
Good for a relaxing holiday. They do not have a jetty at Juara. You need to disembark at Tekek and make prior arrangement with the hotel for pick up transfer to Juara by car. The journey to Juara was interesting, passing the forest.
Well spent holiday”
Juara is located where the ferry is unable to let us off, so having to start off the holiday riding a 4WD is really fun. Even though the hotel room is quite run-down since it was made of wood, the air-conditioning and shower heater works fine. There are many eateries and a convenience store nearby as well. The sea is just within 100m away from where the rooms are, human traffic is low too since Juara is less visited so couples who want to enjoy a private holiday can opt to book this place. Much recommended to stay at this hotel.
Perfect for relaxation”
Transportation is a bit difficult because from the jetty, we have to pay a transport fees to go the hotel because its far and have to cross a big mountain. Can go by motorbike as well. The beach in Juara is really pretty and calming because not many people there. My room view is directly towards the sea view and its pretty. Overall, really calming and relaxing here. Will go again soon.
Everything is awesome except wifi & line”
We stayed at Villa Family for 4 days 3 night. Room was comfortable, clean and worth it for the amount paid. The best place to relaxing with beautiful beach, village environment, nice waterfall and nice food especially Nasi Goreng Kampung at the stall nearer to resort. The only thing to improve is the wifi and internet line. Hope in the future, this thing could be better. We shall came again next time.
1 May 2019 Group Reunion”
The place is so clean and the beach is so pretty...this juara beach is very far from others beach so you can see the difference...the owner is really kind...our ferry is at 5pm and we suppose to check out at 12pm...but the owner give us to stay until 3pm...very generous...the food is just fine ..
Great location for who looks for peaceful corner on the island”
Surprisingly the resort is awesome. Perfect for who are looking for a peaceful vacation in Tioman. Located at the east side of the island with less crowded tourist and more peaceful, quiet, natural place. The room is okay, clean and tidy but no room services during the stay. However it's very near to the beach and we do not require much services. The family-owned restaurants around were tasty and valuable with price. Wifi is very slow at the counter, but it's fine as you get to meet more people and stay away from internet. Will definitely return if i have chance!
Great place, great location, im just unlucky”
Overall this hotel is located nearly center of Kg. Juara, Great place to stay. Very close to convenience store, as this hotel own one. Staff was very friendly. Its just one of our bed during our stay had a bed bugs. Our members who slept on those bed all were bitten, and the scar still left until now.
Value for money”
My sea view room was great. Spacious room, big bathroom with bath tub, just in front of the beach and near to Juara Cafe. Just that you need to spare another 50++ per person (return) from the jetty to Kg Juara. Other than that it’s okay. One can always sleep with the sound of waves every day.
Nice Beach but alot of sandflies”
The Chalet is fine and quite a nice price, the staff is friendly. The food is okay , but the photo of the chalet is slightly different with agoda posted. and the biggest problem is , The sandflies is occupying the beach of Tioman , Juara is the worst zone . Just prepare any repellent for sand flies, otherwise you going to suffer like 4 weeks non stop itchy infected skin.
Good but make sure you really have a sea view before you pay”
Before i say my opinion i will make sure you get the following information first. -There is no ATM in Juara, so when you arrive to Tekek make sure you have enough money, if not, you better go to the ATM of Tekek which is not far. - You will be charged 25/35 ringgit To go to Juara which is half an hour from Tekek. The ride can be fun if you ask the driver to stay in the back of the pick-up. - Juara resto is expensive with bad wifi. Go to "bushman" resto, clean, cheap+ good food + good ambiance+cool owner So I booked a room with seaview: 34euros for two nights. But once there I found that the room is located behind their restaurants and you could see only a part of the sea from far. I asked if they had a room with an REAL sea view, the girl said yes but you have to add 15euros for each night, and I had to cause I really wanted a sea view. The second room had a perfect view and the fourniture was better but the bathtub had a hole so there was water on the floor everytime we took a shower
After a half hour drive through the jungle u reach a very small n cozy village at the beach. We had a beach view chalet which was quite nice and clean but wifi n tv not working. In the restaurant is the only place to get slow wifi, food there is adapted to the western tounge but if u ask they will make it "asli"...;) if u search for a quiet n nice place in the nature without many tourists to relax n go snorkelling or to the jungle, juara mutiara might be the right place for u
