Great find! ”
I did not plan on going to Trincomalee as part of my holiday to Sri Lanka until a work colleague mentioned to me that he went there and showed me pictures of the Jungle Beach Resort. When I arrived in Sri Lanka I added Trinco to my agenda and was not disappointed with the Jungle Beach Resort. We had a fantastic cabin on the beach and the staff were fantastic. They were the best part of the hotel! They were all so friendly and two of them (on their afternoon off) brought us down to the beach to where there was a jungle so we could see elephants! They were so safety conscious and would not let us near the elephants......they were better than any tour guide we had! I have recommended this hotel to friends who are planning trips to Sri Lanka!

Beautiful Place to enjoy the nature! ”
We stayed for 9 days at Uga. It was the perfect place to relax. The bungalows are super nice. The amazing pool is nearly always empty because the beach is super close and super nice as well. There is nothing around, so you can enjoy the pure nature (crocodiles in the Lagune, birds, snakes, leguana, etc in the jungle). By the way the resort is eco friendly :-). But the best is the amazing staff, they will do the best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. So we had the best breakfast and dinners in the nice and familiar restaurant at uga.

Paradise at the beach”
The resort is beautifully located between the jungle and the beach far away from any hustle and bustle. There is no noise, no traffic, nothing to disturb the peace and tranquility. The design is awesome and the grounds are kept immaculately clean. Simply heaven! The rooms are very big with huge bathrooms with outdoor rain showers. They feature all amenities one may possibly need. The beach rooms have beautiful balconies with sun loungers and dining facilities. One thing about the sea view: it is the hotel’s policy not to trim or prune the trees what so ever, so there isn’t much of a sea view. You only see trees and bushes. That was a bit disappointing at first, but it’s only a very short stroll and then you’re on the perfect tropical beach! The three chalets clustered around the private pool might have been a better alternative. You could have a (semi)private swim in the evening if you were staying there. Most of the time you have the beach to yourself (except from the life guard who comes with a safety vest and watches you carefully every time you put a toe in the water. The beach is also immaculate. There is no litter (as seen very often on other paradise beaches). The water is warm and shallow, so safe for swimming (especially with the above mentioned life guard). There are umbrella’s and sun loungers and staff comes to ask you if you want a drink or anything else. The food is to die for. The breakfast is a feast, both to the eyes and the mouth. Dinners were sumptuous and tasty. Compliments to chef Vichalya! Best thing about Jungle Beach however is the staff. They give you the impression that they really like you and they really care about your wellbeing. How often do you find that in a five star hotel?

Stunning & relaxing hideaway resort on the beach”
We had a wonderful week long stay at Jungle Beach for the second week of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, we were looked after by attentive and friendly staff, who you could see took pleasure in their work and did everything to make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. They even organised a birthday cake and special private dining for my birthday! We stayed in a beach view cabin, which was big, comfortable and with great facilities. We even managed to pick up some wifi, despite the remoteness of the location. The bathroom is beautifully appointed and the outdoor rain-shower a delight to get into after a day at the beach. The beach itself is long and beautiful, ideal for relaxing with a cocktail, having a swim in the calm blue sea or taking a stroll. The dining area was welcoming and the variety of food was excellent. All our meals were lovely and we were looked after very well by welcoming and friendly staff. They were never intrusive, just providing excellent service and attention to detail. We would not hesitate to go back.

perfect, beautiful, relaxed”
We stayed here for three nights at the start of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. This resort is absolutely perfect! We tried to book a room with the hotel directly, but they offered ridiculous prices. Luckily we found a great deal online. The beach cabins are absolutely fantastic!!! The hotel is very relaxed and has everything you can wish for, including a perfect beach. The staff is excellent. Other visitors have mentioned a lack of training, but keep in mind that by law half of the employed staff must be local. Since this resort started in 2012 this is for quite a few staff members their first experience in hospitality. But what they lack in experience they make up in kindness and motivation. The only downside of this resort is the price. We got a good deal online, but the drinks and food are expensive (although the signature diner on the beach with the bonfire was unforgettable). Don't go on their nature walk. Overpriced and the guide is not really talkative.

Tranquil escape”
This hotel is amazing. It is beautiful. The villas are surrounded by jungle and feel quite private. The beach was lovely and we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The food was incredible. This is one of those places that it is worth getting a full board/ half board deal - there is no buffet of food sitting around - it is all freshly prepared to your order on a menu changing daily. It is also 30 minutes by tuk tuk to Trinco, so you would not want to be making that trip every day for a meal out. The staff were amazing. They could not have been more helpful. Robert, the tour guide, was fabulous - running wonderful informative daytrips around the local area. He is also fantastic with kids if you have little ones with you. We stayed for 6 days. We could have easily stayed longer. Highly recommend.

excellent location, hotel, beach and food”
We were staying in this hotel for 5 nights at the end of trip around Sri Lanka. We decided that we rather choose 5 stars hotel in Trincomalee instead of going for the same price on Maldives in hotel 3 stars. Everything was excellent. Rooms are big, clean, staff is cleaning the room 3 times in day. Food was delicious and very nice prepared. Especially breakfast - amazing. Beach is clean, nobody is there all around, so you can really enjoy every single minute. Staff is very friendly and they are gorgeous. Only internet wifi is a little bad covered in the room. It is working in the restaurant and bar and reception.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location”
The journey to Jungle Beach resort was hard going as the roads near to the resort are pretty bad but once we arrived it was really worth it. Jungle beach is a really well thought out hotel in terms of it's rooms & it's layout. it feels really secluded and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The private beach area is just gorgeous. the only negatives are that the gym is a bit small as is the pool and some of the windows in the room did not have curtains or blinds so people could see into our bathroom and a light from the building site next door shone into our room all night. (other than that the building site did not disturb us) We only stayed for a couple of nights which was lovely but i couldn't imagine staying for more than 4-5 days as there's not much to do there and the food would get boring after a while.

Great hotel with lovely beach”
After travelling along bumpy roads all day, it was bliss to arrive at Jungle Beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are beautifully turned-out, air-conditioned, spacious and private. The only down-side was that the shower water leaked out over the floor, due to the floor tiles not sloping towards the drain. However, the manager, who made a special effort to approach us and ask how everything was going, assured us that this problem, which only occurred in some rooms, was in the process of being remedied. The hotel is a great place to relax and the beach is lovely, accessed straight from the hotel via a winding path. However, if you are wanting activities outside the hotel, there is not much to do. We went snorkelling, but it was pretty average compared to places we have been before - and there is not much to see or do in Trincomallee, the nearest town. However, as a place to relax and chill out, it is fantastic. The only reservation we had concerning this place was that the menu was the same for lunch and dinner every day, and as there is nothing else around in terms of restaurants, it means you get very sick of the same few things every day. However, it is early days and the manager seemed very keen to take up any good suggestions from guests that would improve the service.

Getaway in paradise”
Spent 4 days with my mum at the end of our Sri Lanka trip. It's not the cheapest hotel in Trincomalee however this is a luxury hotel and at this level it's a great value for money. The beach is amazing, nobody around to disturb you.. The food is also great. Big breakfast with plenty of choice, lunch/dinner affordable. We actually never ordered lunch because breakfast was quite enough. Seafood at dinner was really good value for money. All staff was very attentive and well trained, catering to our every need. Special thanks to Shashika, the manager, who allowed us a 7pm checkout so we could enjoy the beach before catching a bus back to Colombo. If you are looking for a calm, peaceful stay in paradise, this is it!

Our stay at Jungle Beach”
We got a Beach and Jungle cabin. We loved the privacy of the cabin. Although there was a family staying above us and we were disturbed by the boy's running footsteps during the afternoon for 2 days while we were taking a nap, overall we enjoyed our 2 day stay there. I think they should not let family with young kids staying on the upper floor cuz it can be a nuisance for people staying below. We love the romantic starry sky view on the beach. It was really beautiful and we just wanted to stay there watching it forever. The food was good and the staff was very friendly and kept checking up on us. However the beach was quite rough and not suitable for swimming. The blanket in our room was torn in 2 places and stitched back with small pieces of cloth and the staff came to make the room but didn't clear out the in room dining food tray. These are small things but if they want to rate themselves as a 5 star resort, I think these things should be taken care of. Still we enjoyed our stay despite all of this. It's a suitable location for couples.

Great boutique hotel in the middle of a jungle”
We stayed 2 nights at Jungle Beach, a trendy boutique, hi-end, hotel located about 25km from Trincomalee. Its set in a jungle, and whilst we stayed in a lagoon room (no view of lagoon, only jungle), it was perfect. The private beach was wonderful, and the free ice lollies added a nice touch. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Mr. Rajapakse at the bar was really nice and made me a special raw mango cocktail. There was some confusion when we checked in (said they didn't have our reservation which I'd booked and paid for in advance), but they attributed it to a computer glitch. The food is too pricey, be warned. And not the best.....we had pasta which was way too salty to say the least and the fish was tasteless. The breakfast platter however, is wonderful. Overall, it was a good stay.

Jungle beach paradise”
Our stay at jungle beach was sublime. It was a quiet time of year due to rougher seas (the only real negative about our stay) so we were upgraded from a jungle view to a beach view without even a word mentioned about it. Our room was luxurious and we had a private path to our own stretch of beach. The food was probably the best we had in Sri Lanka and the staff were really helpful and professional. Unfortunately we only had 2 nights here, I could have stayed a month.

Great location in the jungle”
Jungle Beach Resort is in a great location in the jungle surrounded by nature and next to the beach. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is clean although a little small. Beach is nice and towels provided on sun loungers. Very quiet and relaxing. Rooms very large and clean. Food and drinks pretty pricey compared to other similar hotels in Sri Lanka and menu not extensive - also the same as that of Uga Bay Hotel Batticaloa so if you're staying in both hotels can get a little dull!

could not fault jungle beach - amazing”
Having travelled to over 40 countries I have to say combining the staff, the meals and the accomodation I could not fault Jungle Beach. It's only been open 4 months and its a well oiled machine. The staff work so hard to make your stay perfect. The rooms are sensational. If you take the time to get to know the staff you will have an even better stay. Dont read any of the knit pickers here, this is a top boutique hotel!!!

Excellent hotel, with some minor teething problems”
This is a fairly new hotel outside Trincomalee which has been built with a lot of forethought to protecting the environment around the beach. Next to no trees where removed in the building rather as many were incorporated into the buildings as possible. Rainwater tanks & solar hot water are just a few of the Eco initiatives that have been used. My only complaint is that this is a new hotel and rather than say 'no, we don't have a yoga studio ready yet, they arranged a yoga instructor for me, but we had no studio to practice in' This is a common feature in Asian tourism I feel, as no one wants to tell the customer no. One final comment is the hotel could definietly do with running a shuttle service into Trinco as it is approx 1200 rupees ($10 USD) each way.

Fantastic stay”
We stayed a couple nights at jungle beach and really enjoyed ourselves. The design of the hotel is such that you are afforded a lot of privacy, the rooms, food and staff were amazing. The beach is lovely, quiet and relaxing. Our only minor quibble is that the pool is a little too small with no sunbeds available. Highly recommended!

A stup up from the rest ”
Quite simply this hotel is a step up from the other hotels in the area. Beach location is lovely and isolated, restaurant food and breakfast is good. The outside BBQ has a wonderful setting, but it's a little expensive and the taste as average. The only faults with this hotel is the shower is luke warm, and the service ( bringing food) can be a little slow. Apart from that, if you want a nice secluded beach , a natural jungle setting, courteous staff, this is a great choice

Beautiful in every way”
We felt so relaxed here, never before have we received such a personal service from such caring staff, each and every one. The guest is at the heart of everything here at Jungle Beach. Delicious beautifully presented food served in natural surroundings. Very spacious, private cabin rooms. Well located for water activities, diving, snorkelling. Would definitely return!

Break from the road”
This resort was a really nice break from our travels around Sri Lanka. Myself and my 8 year old spent a couple weeks in Stri Lanka and stopped at Jungle Beach for 4 days to relax. My only one small complaint with the place was that they kept adding things to the bill. There was free bottled water everywhere but when my daughter asked for some water with her breakfast instead of fresh juice they added $2 each time. Other than that my daughter and I enjoyed this place very much.
