This luxurious beachfront property provides guests an excellent base from which to explore both the natural and the historical. The nearby Similan Islands undoubtedly provide the best dive sites in Thailand, while the three national parks are perfect for treks on foot and on elephants, rafting, and canoeing. The nearby Takuapa Old Town has several Sino-Portuguese designed buildings. The resort also organizes games, and non-motorized sports such as kayaking are on offer. Additionally there are mountain bikes available to explore the nearby villages. After a day full of activities, you are sure to enjoy the treatments on offer at the Quan Spa. JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa is luxury at its very best and it would be difficult to find a better place in Khao Lak.
"Pros - staff are wonderful, they acknowledge and help."

No. 1 in Khao Lak! Everytime again!”
We stay after 2 years again, in the JW Marriott and we would recomend it everytime again. We stay this time 4 weeks in different Hotels in Khao Lak ( Katilia - JW Marriot - Mukdara) but the best is JW Marriott, even the expensiest one! The BEST Breakfast wich we had in Thailand is in JW Marriot and believe me, we try a lot of Hotels in Thailand because we travel a lot around..... Staff very friendly, and helpfull,. The Poolarea is the longest/ biggest wich you maybe ever saw. The only negative Point is, .. noisy Kids . But the Area is so big,, so you will find allways a quiet Place. We will come back in this Hotel and also in the Katilia ( in Future it will be a Robinson Resort) But never we will come back in the Mukdara Resort (where we stay now for 5 days), because if you make such perfect Experiences with JW Marriott or Katilia, its only a worst Experience to finish you Trip.... in Khao Lak.
Wonderful”
We have been holidaying at the JW Marriott Khao Lak annually for the last three years, and its amazing - from the attentive friendly service provided by welcoming staff through to the excellent facilities and first class dining options, this is one of the best resorts in Thailand. I would recommend this resort to anyone with or without children they cater perfectly for both.
Superb Resort in Khao Lak”
problably nicest resort i have stayed in thailand. we were group of families with small children and all found this resort to be true 5 star experience. staff are very proffessional and always treat you as you were vip. the beach is long with white sand and blue ocean. there are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and even if the resort was almost fully booked, you could always found your free sunbed. rooms are spacious and have most comfortable bed i ever slept. breakfast is really worth 5 stars. you can have almost everything from noodles to eggs benedict. fresly made smoothies, capuccino a.s.o. food in other restaurnts in resort is quite expencive and we found it to be not so good as you get it from other restaurnts outside the resort. next time visiting khao lak we would deffinitelly stay on jw marriot.
Perfect place for the vacation.”
It was perfect choice to stay at JW marriott Khao lak and we had really great time there. We stayed at the pool access room, so we could jumped into the pool directly from the room. Every staffs are very nice and well attended. Private beach is beautiful and clean.
Total relaxation with my best friend.”
my best friend and i was looking for a mini getaway from phuket so we ended up with khaolak. there are not so many 5 stars hotels to choose but this time we really want to try jw marriott out. it is also our first jw stay ever so we really have no expectation before the arrival. it turned out to be perfect since check-in eventhough weather was not friendly for us. we enjoyed the pool for almost 3 hours in the rain in which we didn't care. the staff at the pool bar were so friendly and kept us company with genuine conversation and smile. we tried out the thai restaurant for dinner since we heard the negative comments from out friends about mediteranian one. the atmosphere at the restaurant was great, it was packed with guests. authentic taste but for sure, pricey for thai food. the breakfast was awesome. egg benedict was done nicely and i went for the second one within 5 minutes. smoothies were freshy made. nice coffee and tea service. bread, danish and pastry were ready at all times. nice selection of thai and indian vegetarian selections. the full glass wall view to the ocean at the restaurant was perfect to start your morning. you get everything you want here at jw marriott. an absolutely right choice to choose!
Stunning hotel”
Definitely the most luxurious and beautifully designed and executed hotel resort I have ever stayed in. From the first time you arrive at the hotel, drive down the driveway and enter the reception lobby, the Marriott oozes class. From the origami rose decorating your welcome drink crafted from a banana leaf, to the low level night lights in the rooms, to the beach attendant who hands you one soft fluffy towel to lie on when you take up your your lounger for the day, and then rolls up a second and hangs it over the top of your lounger to act as a soft pillow while you snooze in the sun, and then pours you a glass of iced water, in a heavyweight plastic, not glass, tumbler, to avoid any breakages, and keeps it topped up all afternoon, the attention to detail and level of service is amazing. They have thought of everything and spared no expense in creating a resort that really feels special. The location could be perceived as a disadvantage, as the resort is a bit out of town, away from the main stretch of hotels along Bang Niang Beach. However, having originally wanted to stay on Bang Niang, we are glad that we ended up at the Marriott - it's partly-but-not-entirely secluded location on its own stretch of beautiful beach and away from the hustle of Bang Niang means it is much more spacious than many others and undoubtedly adds to the ambience of utmost relaxation and exclusivity. And the pool, the pool...
Nice hotel with a HUGE swimming pool”
We stayed at the Khao Lak Marriott in February 2012. I would highly recommend this hotel if you have young children because there is a kids club and kids pool with a slide. The main swimming pool goes all the way around the hotel - a very interesting design. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. The hotel was also not too packed which is the reason we came to Khao Lak, the hotels in Phuket are twice as busy this time of year.
Paradise!”
The JW Marriott Khao Lak is located on the BEST beach in the area! The beach is nearly deserted, and perfect for swimming, suntanning, and collecting shells.
Beautiful beach resort. Not one disappointment.”
I booked my stay at the JW Marriott here on Agoda for about half the price of the normal rack rate. My room was beautiful and nicely appointed with all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury resort. The room service was very quick and reasonably priced compared to the usual room service at Western based resorts and the food was great. I would highly recommend a room with direct pool access as opposed to one with a balcony. From your own personal sundeck, you can jump right into the 3km long pool that snakes its way around the resort. I would definitely come back here again in the future. No disappointments whatsoever.
Excellent resort ”
This is a wonderful resort in Khao Lak. They really did a good job with this place. The wrap around pool is amazing. The room was spacious and nicely appointed with teak floors and attractive art. The king sized bed was comfortable with oversized pillows. The staff really does a great job attending to any need, with smiles aplenty. Unfortunately it rained two of the three days we were there so we weren't able to fully enjoy our stay. Minor quibbles: the restaurants here are expensive and not particularly noteworthy. Save your money and go to "The Andaman", which sits just off the beach if you head to the right after hitting the beach. Also, the wifi signal was weak in the room. However, this is a problem we found in all of our hotels throughout Thailand with the exception of our bungalow in Ko Phi Phi. All in all, however, this is a magnificent place with great service.
Perfect service but poor construction”
We had a nice stay in the Marriott Khao Lak. Service was Marriott like. Beach, pool and restaurants are fine. Design of rooms is superb but the construction quality was really bad. Balcony was out of order. TV does not work properly, falling roof tiles............. Breakfast was only ok, little choice of bread, sausages and cheese. The level of this Marriott is not the normal Marriott level, it is less. Compared with Marriott on Phuket, Marriott Khao Lak is a class lower.
The best hotel in Khao Lak”
We are a family of 4 adults including my parent me and my younger brother, we all had a really good time stay here, the room are very nice and practical especially the one with pool access. The staff of this hotel are the best; they’re friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and very polite. The beach is very beautiful with only 3-5 minutes walk from our room. The bar are nice and good price with “happy hour” promotion. If you want to find a place to stay in Khao Lak I recommend this hotel.
Paradise”
our second stay at this hotel, after last years experience we just had to come back. location is very good, far enough away from the centre of khao lak for some good old peace and quiet but the hotel run a shuttle bus if you feel in need of some retail therapy. would be nice if this was a complementary service though !! the swimming pool is amazing, we had hours of fun swimming all around the resort and it was never crowded. breakfast was included in our package and there is plenty of choice. the beds here are the most comfortable i have ever slept in. i am sure we will be back.
Best Pool ever”
We have been to Khao Lak previously and stayed at other hotels. We stayed in Pool access room for 10 nights. The staff were fabulous and you can tell very well trained. The pool was wonderful, you could swim for and ages and not go the same way. The room was large and great for 10 days stay, the lounges in the room great, comfortable when you feel like relaxing on an extended stay. The down side was the pool access room patio and railings very poor condition but looks like there is maintenance happening through out the resort, and the other downside was you had access ie jump in the pool outside unit from your patio, but to get back out of the pool at your unit there was not pool steps, so you had to walk around a very narrow paver at pool edge to find pool step. Younger ones may not have an issue but I am 65 yrs and have a knee problem. Worth going into Khao Lak for a meal or two by resort shuttle bus. We travel twice a year to Thailand all over and found this resort very good value for money when we stayed a week ago and will be going back.
Nice American style resort”
this resort is further north from the small town of khao lak, it really is a good place for families with toddlers. the staff was very nice, the room had all the comfort you'd except. i enjoyed the spa, but i must say their prices are a bit pricey. the beach is all right, it stretches for a long distance, so you can enjoy a good run. there is a japanese restaurant, if you're from the us it is benihana like. overall the food is ok, and no one will get sick. next time i will check out le meridien, which is 10 minutes further away north.
A great resort with wonderful service”
We received a very warm welcome and excellent service throughout our stay. Our room has been spacious, 100% clean and with attention for every detail. The breakfast buffet is very high standard and again the staff there was very friendly. Overall a perfect location to relax and spend a good time. A rental car might be a good idea as the resort a away a few kilometers from Khao Lak. There are also plenty of nice day trips in the region that can easily be done by car.
The best resort! ”
We had the most amazing stay in Khao Lak thanks to this resort! We stayed as a couple, in addition to travelling with other family memebers during this time. The resort was very clean, quiet and the food was excellent and great value for money! The breakfast buffet is definitely one of the highlights! We stayed for 4 nights, due to other commitments however looking back now we wish we had the whole week there! Can not recommend enough!
Beach vacation at JW Marriott in Khao Lak”
Again a very nice beach vacation at JW Marriott in Khao Lak, happy to come back with mom, gf and a good friend, we'll be back...!!!
Pool is 5 stars”
Room was excellent great big bath , anniversary surprise from house keepers rose petals and love heart . Highly recommend JW Marriot khao lak
Very good beach resort”
Very good beach resort out of the crowdy phuket area. Rooms are very well appointed, bed very nice. The architecture of the resort is very nice. The beach is incredible and very well appointed, no other resort on the same beach. Perfect place if you want to stay in the hotel to relax, Khao Lak center a little bit away but free shuttle by the hotel. The staff is ok but getting a very poor level of english. Food is ok
