Great Service & Location!”

Free Pick-up Service

Getting to the K's House was a breeze. When you get to the Kawaguchiko train & bus station, walk next door to the info counter and tell the counter staff that you have a reservation at K's House. The staff will help you make a call to K's House and you can speak to them to arrange the free pick-up, they picked us up in about 20 mins after our call. They also have about 6 scheduled timings daily where they can fetch you back to the train station. If we had walked, it would have taken at least 20 minutes, provided we did not get lost. The free and comfortable MPV ride was about 5 minutes. We stayed at the private room with ensuite bathroom. It was a tatami floor, so we laid our own beds. Room was clean, spacious and had a heater and also free Wi-Fi. They also have dormitory rooms available. Hostel was a brief 3-minute walk from the bus-stop where you can take the Retro Bus (1300 Yen for 2 days) for unlimited rides to Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Saiko. Very convenient! The reception area also had 2 computers that you can use for free. The staff were very friendly, helpful and speak English. Even the common areas were very clean and well-maintained. Superb standards for a hostel indeed. Will definitely stay there again when we visit Mount Fuji next time!

Nearby with 5th station red line bus, clean Japanese room and toilets, large kitchen area ”

Person in charge are heartening, can speak in English, shower room and washroom are separated, room is a clean tatami style which require own service to setup but it’s no big deal, overall a very decent experience for groups. Can see half of the Mt fuji from our room while whole mt fuji can be seen from outside the hostel. Only disadvantage is my room don’t hv private bathroom ensuited, however the person in charge said that they hv a option of rooms that comes with en-suite bathroom. Thank you K’s Mount Fuji backpackers hostel, definitely will choose again for next fujikawaguchiko trip.

The best place to stay in Japan”

Everything is so well done and so clean!

I can't say enough good things about this place. I enjoyed our stay so much. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The shuttle service to the train station is great. I was kind of hesitant to stay in a dorm, but it was so clean and comfortable, I enjoyed every second. The kitchen was wonderful and they have modern appliances, with a stove that heats up oil in a frying pan almost instantly!! We extended our stay and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would recommend K's house to anyone, even if you are not a backpacker. I stayed in much worse for more money while in the Fuji Area and went running back to K's house the second I could. Book here, you will not regret it.

Awesome hostel and hosts could all speak English..”

Hosts could speak English and very friendly, free pickup/drop off to/from train station, bike rental, all amenities available for use

Only stayed 1 night. Wished I'd stayed longer. Was awesome place to stay, staff were awesome, other backpackers were nice and there was a nice friendly atmosphere around the hostel. Bathroom was tiny but that was to be expected so not a big deal. Room seemed very authentic with mat floors, sliding doors (shoji)and mattress and bedding for the floor. Room had air conditioning and a heater for the colder months. Staff offered maps, recommendations on places to eat and explained the rules. Would absolutely recommend K's House Mt Fuji to all who visit Kawaguchiko.

Great place to stay with a friendly staff ”

affordable, clean, convenient, english speaking

my boyfriend and i stayed at k's house for two nights. we took the chuo express bus from shinjuku station and arrived at kawaguchiko station in less than 2 hours. we used the pay phone inside and was picked up by a friendly staff member in less than 10 minutes wait. the staff all speak english and they explained everything to us in detail when we checked in. there are two onsens that are very nice near by and the lake is also just a short walk. we did not hike to mt. fuji because my bf became ill so instead we rented bikes from the front and rode it around the lake, enjoying the view and trying out the surrounding restaurants. there is a large super market about 10 minute walk away and they have a wide variety of food for cheap prices (compared to tokyo). wifi is available throughout the building and desktops are available on the first floor. we were very happy with our stay, our tatami room was beautiful. and our private bathrooms were very clean. we had no problems with noise or other residents. the kitchen is very large and kept very clean. the hotel does not provide meals but there is no need to. the restaurants around the lake and near the train station are all delicious and many speak english.would definitely recommend this to other customers.

High standard hostel maybe the best I stayed in!!”

confy beds, clean and huge facilities, very friendly staff

Even for a Japanese hostel, K's house reaches a higher standard. The place is clean and has great facilities (kitchen and bathrooms). The staff speaks very good English and is super friendly. The location is 10 minutes walking distance from main station, but they offer a free shuttle service. When I stayed there, I slept like a baby in the beds with huge blankets and the common space is divided into three spaces (Western, Japanese and dining). Everything is made so that you feel like at home. I rent a bike and it was cheaper than every places in the coities that I checked on the way. It was a bit rainy when I stayed there, so I could not enjoy the patio/terrasse. It seemed pretty chilled though. They say they are rated best hostel? Oh yeah!

I stay there for 1 night. Booked 4 female dorm but I got the whole room by myself. The hostel is not too far from the bus station and the lake. There is a hot spring hotel close by and you will get the discount if you tell the staff that you stay at K's house. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Very nice place for this price”

the staff are super nice and helpful, place is clean, bed is comfy, the rate is very reasonable.

the hostel is located around 20-min from the train station, and it takes 10 mins to go to the lake, which is pretty ok. when you arrive the Kawaguchiko station, remember to go to the tourist centre right next to it, tell them you are going to K's House Fuji, they will then help call the staff of the hostel to pick you up. i also suggest to rent the bike from the hostel to go around the lake. it's the first time i stay in a hostel and the experience is good, just that there are some roommates not so considerate. as an adult, i tried my best not to make noise in the room at night cos some people go to bed quite early. but there is a young guy going in and out the room at 1 am and slamming the door without trying to hold it, it is very annoying

Great location, great room”

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff

Travelling with my family, five of us staying in the same room with tatami and futton. The room is big enough for us. There is a bathroom inside the room. The bathroom is small but we can use the extra room outside the bathroom for changing room. Seven Eleven is within a reasonable walking distance so we can buy food there. Microwave is provided in the kitchen. Dining room is nice. Tap water is drinkable. We felt like home. Free internet is provided in the lobby. Free wifi is also provided in the room, but maybe not all room is having a good wifi connection. All the needed information can be found in the notice wall, like transport from hotel to Osaka, even the bus schedule, also a discount voucher for cable car to Mt.Fuji is in the brochure box on the reception desk. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, he even helped me to search for the most convenient and economical transport from Mt.Fuji to my next destination, Osaka.

the staff, the room and the location

We stayed in K's House a few weeks after one of their biggest snow-storms on record. There was snow everywhere so it was very beautiful. The room has a modern ryokan feel which was a treat and the staff were so helpful, they couldn't do enough to help us organise our trains/buses for the next part of our trip. Lovely, cosy little bar. They also did a free pick up from the bus station.
