More than just a hotel”
Kaani beach hotel is a truly wonderful place with the best people you could imagine. When we got off the ferry, they were already there waiting to pick up our bags and walk us to the resort, which is less than 5 mins walk away from the dock. The hotel manager Ibrahim was really helpful and friendly, he spent a lot of time briefing us on the activities the resort could arrange for us such as island-hopping, snorkelling/diving trips, dolphin-sighting excursions etc (all of which are available at decent rates) and he was very patient with us as we asked endless questions. The arrangements of our comings and goings were absolutely seamless. Over the course of our stay, he would often check in on us to make sure we were doing fine. He was also generous with local tips and advice so we could get the most of our stay. It was like having a longtime friend who happens to live in Maldives. The room itself was nice and comfortable as well. We recommend getting the one with sea view and balcony. The hotel is on Maafushi island, which is just a 1.5hour ferry ride away from the capital Male, so the location of this hotel is really good. It is also surrounded by other private resorts and beaches that you could easily visit for a day if you want the experience of sipping alcohol and frolicking on a pristine private beach but without paying an arm and a leg. The hotel helped us to arrange a trip like this on one of the days. We left at 11am to the nearby Biyadhoo island resort (10mins away on speedboat) where there was a beautiful beach and a bar, great place for swimming and snorkelling. We just had to pay a small transfer and entrance fee per pax for the trip. Just a small tip when you take the ferry from Male to Maafushi island, the ferry doesn't just stop at Maafushi, I think it goes to other islands too, so be sure to get off at the right island as we almost missed our stop if a kindly man hadn't asked us where we were headed!

Clean and Confortable Room with Nice Seaview”
We booked Kaani Beach because we wanted to see the real Maldives, participate in a lot of excursions, and still live in a comfortable 4 star+ hotel. Kaani Beach does provide all of these, at reasonable price. We were greeted at the lobby with wet tower and a glass of fresh water melon juice. This is so thoughtful! The lobby and hotel room is clean and comfortable with nice sea view. The AC is powerful and there is also a ceiling fan. There is an outdoor bar right in front of the hotel, and guests could chill out there at night. However, since Maafushi is an island inhabited by local people as well, alcohol is not allowed. There are small restaurants, diving schools, supermarkets and souvenir stores within walking distance. Aside from those, Maafushi island is not big and does not provide a lot of facilities. Kaani Beach provides a lot of excursions, and guests could use their snorkeling equipments and tower for free. You could also attend excursions provided by other hotels at Maafushi. There are limited choices available at the inclusive buffet breakfast . But the ambience is pleasant. Since most of the guests will come have breakfast here, it is a good place to make friends. We met people from different countries at the hotel restaurant and at the tourist beach just steps away from the hotel. And we team up with some of these new friends for excursions such as full day snorkeling trip, island picnic and day trip to a resort. Since there are tens of hotels and guesthouses on Maafushi, you could easily meet and make friend with other tourists and local people. On the last day, we checked out early for a day long excursion but will not leave Maafushi until the evening, the hotel staff let us keep our luggage at the hotel and also let me shower at the rooftop shower room before leaving. They really worked hard to make my stay comfortable and convenient. I will definitely recommend Kaani Beach to anyone visiting Maafushi.

Fantastic location and hospitality”
We, a family of four, have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Kaani Beach Hotel. The hotel is very nice and clean and has the best location on the island. We stayed in a deluxe triple room for ten nights. We enjoyed the breathtaking view over the ocean and palm trees from our balcony. We even had a window faceing north. From the rooftop you can enjoy the same view and I very much enjoyed sitting there in the mornings, with a "free" cup of coffee as my family and the island came to life. The hotel offers a rich variety of trips and tours. We went to Madhoo, wich is a bounty island. The chef from Kaani beach prepared and served a lovely barbecue lunch on the beach. On afternoon we went dolphin spotting. Hndreds of dolphins gave us a spectacular show as the jumped and played around the boat. Finally we went to a sandbank, where we saw a huge Manta ray. Beside that there were a handfull of other trips you can join. It can be a bit pricy if you are a family, but it's all worth wild taking into consideration that living on Maafushi is very cheap. The hotel staff are the friendliest and helpful people. After ten days, they nearly became family. They knew exactly how we wanted our eggs and coffee. They do a really good job, keeping the hotel and your room nice and clean. Our main occupation was naturally snorkling. From the hotel you have about fifty meters to the reef. As you go into the water, you can se up to ten Black tip reef sharks (up to 70cm and absolutely harmless) cruising around the rocks close to the shore. On the reef there is a great verity of bright colorful fish. If you consider going to the Maldives we can absolutely recommend Kaani Beach Hotel. You can stay on a four star hotel and enjoy a budget vacation, where you can decide how much you want to spend on joining the varies trips and tours offered by the hotel. Maafushi is absolutely wonderfull and you will love it there.

Had a wonderful stay with family”
Initially, we selected the property for 2 main reasons. Affordability as well as the chance to stay on a Island inhabited by the locals. In Maafushi, the Kaani Beach Hotel, with its excellent beach facing location, clean, well maintained property and above all absolutely friendly and dedicated staff & manager ever ready to serve you with a genuine smile, is indeed one of the best best places to stay. The hotel also provides complementary cycles to explore the island, beach towels and snorkeling kits etc. Their recreation room has a pool table, Foosball table, Karaoke etc for complimentary use of guests. There are plenty of supermarkets & souvenir shops located nearby. They organize a lot of reasonably priced fun filled day trips. We opted for the Maadhoo Island trip and it was truly enjoyable for us and our kids. The BBQ was especially mouth watering. Just a few things that you have to prepared for. From Male, the economical ferry service can sometimes be houseful or may not operate on public holidays, therefore you have to be prepared mentally to hire a speedboat at a cost of USD 175 if the ferry is not available. Again since the speedboat and ferry depart from different marinas, its better to arrange with the hotel in advance since they have an arrangement for the speedboat directly from the airport. Secondly the buffet breakfast is nice and adequate but not elaborate. Almost all restaurants/room service throughout Maldives have a serving time of 40-60 minutes so order in advance. WiFi also is painfully slow and erratic at times- more a problem due to the geographic location and service providers. Overall, I and family had a great vacation and recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a different experience from the pricey resorts.

Modern Hotel withGreat Location”
My wife and I stayed 8 nights at the Kaani Beach Resort on Maafushi island in the South Male Atoll in February 2015. This was the fourth island stay of our 23 day visit to the Maldives. We were promptly met at the dock by Kaani Beach staff who transported our luggage to the hotel. We had previously stayed in guest houses in the Ari Atoll on the islands of Hangngaameedhoo, Mahibadhoo and Omadhoo; on these islands there are few visitors compared to the local population. We were surprised to find so many vacationers on this island. The island had the feel of a resort island where the only locals work in the resorts. There must have been four or five hotels and 20 or more guest houses with construction of many more taking place. Local residences are being displaced at a rapid pace. We had a lovely room on the second floor with bathroom , a/c , with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel also had a good Wi-Fi connection. We paid about $150 per night with taxes and breakfast included. The best feature of this island is a 20 acre lagoon of crystal clear water of constant depth of 3 to 5 feet depending on the tide, right in front of the hotel. Adjacent to the lagoon is a small beach area that is fenced in with a 7 foot high bamboo fence so the locals will not be offended to see bikini clan tourists. When we were there, the small beach area was saturated with tourists; like ants on a sugar cube would be a good analogy. The situation will only get worse as more and more hotels and guest houses are completed. There was no denying though, that the swim area was like a giant pool of pleasantly warm water. The pool is so large that you have plenty of room to yourself. The locals also have a vast swim area with plenty of beach on the north-east side of the island. The water here, however, is of uneven depth with a rocky bottom and is unsheltered from the wind.

Excellent Customer Service!”
When I arrived at Kaani Beach Hotel, I was surprised to find that I did not have a room. Because I booked through a booking agency, the website hadn't updated and booked me a room when the hotel was actually full. (Note: I recommend calling the hotel directly to confirm availability!) Although this sounds like a disaster, I was pleasantly surprised at how professional and helpful the hotel manager was in finding me another room in an equally nice hotel until a room at Kaani became available. Even though this was not the hotel's fault (it was a problem with the external booking agency) the manager also provided a complimentary excursion and meals to compensate. As for the rest of my experience, I found Kaani Beach Hotel to be in a great location on Maafushi Island. The island itself provides a combination of island paradise with local flavor and flair. The hotel also provided a number of great excursion options, which provided opportunities to explore and experience other parts of the Maldives.

Amazing Experienced! no doubt!worth a visit! ”
this review is loooong overdue , it took me awhile but here it is ...... My Family visit Maldives in Mafushi island and stayed in Kaani Beach Hotel for 2weeks ... kaani beach hotel is Amazing for its staffs☺️ they are all very hospitable, helpful, all smiling , funny and very welcoming to guest. We love kaani beach. welcome drinks is given when we arrived. we only have to fil up some basic information and we were on our way to our room immediately . We are a family of 3 and it is our first time travelling in Mafushi ,we do not know what kind of island were going ,we literally dont know anything about mafushi so we are skeptical about it but as soon as we step on mafushi island we fell in love by its people☺️ literally the best and very welcoming people we experienced in our entire life. We felt very loved by mafushi people. We are a family travelling with a very active 2yrs old. I would like to say thankyou to kaani staffs for helping us with her. their are times where they take care of my little girl for like 10-15minutes where in i can enjoy a full meal☺️ o yes 10minutes is already a success to get a full meal for us ☺️ we do not mind it because they only take my daughter to the playground infront of the hotel which by the way is totally awesome to have a playground just infront of the hotel. very convenient to those family with young children including us. We took one of the excursion they offer in the hotel where we can snorkeling, see dolphins and eat in the sandbank hands up to those team we totally loved them all. they make sure we are safe and we are satisfied for what we paid for. which ofcourse pass beyond our expectation so thankyou☺️. like ive already mentioned above these people living in mafushi are all awesome. Food , very tasty and worth every dollars we spent. Cleanliness ,thumbs up.. 8/10 because they forget mirrors and bedside tables to wipe☺️ I only have 1 constructive criticism to say and i hope the management will take action for

Wonderful”
Really comfortable room and beautiful balcony facing the beach. I most definitely also loved the warm and friendly nature of the people at Kaani Beach. Its the little things they did for us that made the trip more worthwhile. There were also affordably priced activities at their hotel. I went for dolphin watching which was amazing because there were so many dolphins up close! and on the way back the staff on the boat was so kind to even point out which islands are which as we rode back up the atoll on the speedboat to Maafushi. We also did a picnic island trip which had a good spread of food. One of the staff knew that my dad loved fish and always recommended good fish to him at meal time too. We also didn't have to grab our luggage out at check out. Its like the staff were totally on the ball about it and were at our door step ready to get our luggages down to the reception when we were leaving the room. My only issue is that our check in was rather slow and that food took a good hour or so before it arrived but other than that I was really impressed by Kaani beach's efforts to make me and my family enjoy our stay at Maafushi.

Must Stay Hotel in Maafushi”
I would like to share my feedback on my recent trip to Maldives and stay at Kaani Hotels. Right from landing till end of my trip Kaani made my stay above and beyond the expectation. My best stay so far and hospitality at its best. After transfer I was updated that we got an upgrade and upgraded to Kaani Palm Beach - Sea view rooms. Though my reservation of last two day was City view room, Mr. Ibrahim (General Manager) supported and upgraded to Sea view room on the occassion of my anniversary. I am obliged to humble gesture and kindness of Mr. Ibrahim who is soft spoken and very caring. All my 6 days stays was well taken care by him personally and ensured there is no problem at all. Spoke to him multiple occasion to know more about Maldives and culture. Special mention to Mr. Anas, Mr. Kadir and Ramee as they helped to plan whole itinerary and schedule for trips. Kadir have made special arrangement for My anniversary once he got to know about it. I can simply say that Kaani truly shows the hospitality at its best and how to treat their guest. I would recommend to every traveller for an experience. Rest location is fantastic, Undoubtedly the best hotel at Maafushi island with the best location, bikini beach and activities. Keep up the good work guys.

Perfect Holiday ”
A beautiful hotel at a beautiful location with best staff. Well we stayed at Kaani Beach Hotel 2 weeks ago and all I have is beautiful memories now, which I can put up as my review in form of words. Our stay at Kaani Beach Hotel was the best out of 4 hotels we stayed in Maldives over the period of 7 days. All thanks to the wonderful staff of Kaani Beach Hotel (Tiger, Anthony, Ammexx, Shakti) (Pardon me If I have missed to mention anyone's name here). These guys are brilliant when it comes to hospitality. Thank you so much for making our stay comfortable and beautiful. Special Thanks To Tiger n Ammexx for guiding us with respect to transfers to Kandooma. We were able to save 250+ USD because of you guys. U guys deserve a treat when u come to India ;) next time. Special thanks to Anthony for the beautiful surprise and wonderful hospitality. Special thanks to Tiger for showing us the places around and for being a great guide. Also special thanks to all the housekeeping guys for keeping our room tidy n clean. And last but not the least thanks to the guys at restaurant for delicious food. I would really recommend Kaani Beach Hotel over other expensive private resorts to stay if any of you guys are planning a trip to Maldives in near future. Its definitely worth against every single penny u spend. Thanks again guys for wonderful memories for a lifetime :) Stay Blessed

Great service and perfect location”
I was there in Kaani Beach Hotel, Maafushi last week with my wife. The hotel is located in perfect place next to the beach. They have their own speedboat and the hotel picked us up from Male airport. We met Shakti aka Magic who helped us plan for all excursions. We did snorkeling, dolphin watching (the crew was awesome), and went for a day trip to Adaaran Club Ranalhi. They even provided us photos of our day trips. All the staffs in the hotel are very cheerful. Our room was always serviced. We dined in the hotel a couple of times and you get variety in food (Asian, Chinese, Continental etc). If you need souvenirs, there are plenty of shops around. The hotel also managed our return trip in their speedboat including other customers who had an early flight from Male. All in all, we had an awesome time. I highly recommend Kaani Beach Hotel. A great value for the affordable price.

Fun, Relax, Amazing”
About the Hotel - Clean & Comfortable: They clean our room everyday, well ventilated with pleasant smell. - Friendly Staff: Keen for help whenever you need any assistance. Casual and neat uniform present a relax and island feeling of the hotel image. - View: Staying at the 2nd storey with sea view balcony. It's nice but obstructed by coconut tree - Facilities: Free rental of bicycle, snorkeling gear, beach towel. Nice rooftop sundeck view and seat. Can use the swimming pool at another Kaani branch hotel (few minutes walking distance away) - Disadvantage: Slightly poor sound insulation, but overall it's is acceptable unless you meet the guest who are shouting. xD About the Location - It's cheap to arrive, but it takes 1.5 hour to the island of this hotel from Male, unless taken with speedboat which is only 0.5 hour - Nice sea colour as where you see in other Maldives island. But the shore got lots of tiny stone which you have to walk through before go further - There are other nearby private islands can be visited with the excursion provided by the hotel (with reasonable price). - Nice locals and feel safe to walk around the island. - Restaurant nearby the hotel Overall, I strongly recommend those who are coming Maldives with constraint budget, and here is one of the best choice.

Good hotel with friendly and helpful staff ”
The hotel room (Triple sharing with additional bed) is spacious with a nice balcony facing the sea. The hotel is located on Maafushi island, a local island, not the typical maldives resort island, hence there is stricter dress code (bikinis allowed only in the tourist beach, which is just in front of the hotel), no alcohol,no clubs. The island is very rustic, laid back and beautiful beach and coral reefs, at a very affordable price. There are KTV, pool and foosball table in the entertainment room, with a suntan rooftop, where you can suntan and see the sunset and the sea. To get to the island, hop onto the 3pm ferry from Male (2USD) to get to Maafushi a 90mins voyage. There are various trips to picnic island, snokeling, scuba diving, or even one-day escapade to the "private island" to experience the Maldivian club resorts. A very good choice for anyone who would like to experience Maldives , and not just another cookie-cut resort island.

An amazing experience!”
This hotel is amazing! We were taken care of from the start to the end by the excellent staff! We were greeted by the Ifu at the jetty upon arrival and he walked us Kaani Beach Hotel, which is just 3 minutes away from the Maafushi jetty. They offered us breakfast as we'd arrived just before 10am and showed us up to the room. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and how nice the rom was. It has all your basic needs and was spacious and comfortable enough for two people. The hotel is literally steps away from the public beach, as well a "bikini beach" where guests are allowed to dress in more revealing swimsuits - perfect for all those who need a tan! Breakfasts every day were great, just enough of a variety. Anthony and Ismail helped us organise our activities (snorkeling, picnic on the sandbanks, night fishing (highly recommend!), cycling around the island, etc). Shakti was also so wonderful in guiding us the to the best watersports centre (The Premium Watersports Centre). There is a gift shop and convenience store right next to the hotel so you'll never be short of snacks. All the housekeeping and kitchen staff were so pleasant with their greetings and their help. Ismail and Anthony also assisted us in organizing a shared speedboat to and from Maafushi. Overall, it was the perfect getaway from my husband and I. The hotel and their stellar staff MADE our whole experience nothing short of amazing, we cannot wait to come back!

Budget way to experience Maldives! ”
We stayed at Kaani for 5D4N, booked a city view as sea view was sold out but to our surprise we got upgraded to sea view which made our stay so much better because the view was splendid. Opt for sea view if you want to stay here! Our airport transfer was a bit of a hassle as the hotel did not reply our inquiries about speedboat so we had to book one by an external company when we touched down which was more pricey. 40usd each sharing a speed boat of 5 people (total 200usd, 30mins). Alternatively you could op for public ferry at a much cheaper cost but it is a longer ride(2hours?). The exchange of money was done mainly in USD. Convenience shops usually do accept USD as well but they would give back change in their Maldivian dollar. The only small tourist beach on Maafushi where women are allowed to be in bikinis is right in front of Kaani. Kaani provides beach towels, snorkel masks as well. Breakfast was alright, with some variations every day. Their fried icecream is something to try if you have not tried it else where before. Food at the restaurant Rehendhi near Kaani was quite bad, the wait for food was almost 1.5 hours. Service was bad as well. Staff of this hotel were all excellent, ranging from housekeeping crew to front desk crew to excursion(boat)crew to restaurant crew. They always have a smile on their face and would ask about your day and your stay so far. They serve guests sincerely. Wifi was rather weak in my sea view room and moderately better at lobby. One bad experience I had was being woken up by the hotel at 5am telling me my fishing trip is ready when I signed up for night fishing instead of morning one. FYI, their rooftop sunbeds are no longer there as depicted on this website. But its no big deal as the beach is much nicer. Rates for excursions were reasonable, thus I didnt compare them with other nearby hotels. The manager Maajid was always around, he would talk to guests to find out their concerns or feedbacks.

Awesome Staff, very good food and fantastic view!”
My boyfriend and I had a great time staying at this hotel. It is without a doubt a superb experience. The Island itself may not be as eye catching as the private resorts but the people in this resort and in the whole island were really very nice and warm. When we went to another island for a tour, there were some staff of Kaani in the island who are accompanying other guests. What's surprising is that they played games with us even if we are in another group. HOTEL FOOD? The food is also very very good! Good job to the hotel's chef! I love their stir fried beef that we ordered it twice, haha! And with the regards to the room, it was really awesome! We booked the room with sea view and it was really a very beautiful view. We will definitely come back to Maldives and if we ever plan to stay in Maafushi again, I would chose Kaani Beach Hotel without a doubt. :)

Modern, Clean and Amazing Maafushi hotel ”
We stayed here on feb 5 to feb 12. Rooms are clean with nice beds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Arrived at hotel and was greeted with cool towels and welcome drinks. Hotel restaurant is good but slow, but this is the case for all the restaurants in Maafushi. Bikes, snorkeling equipment and pool table were readily available for use. MONEY - USD is the only currency you will need. No need to change to ruufiya. Remember: Everything you need to negotiate :). Example: If you don't need invoice, you can easy not to pay taxes (12%). We did it :). You need to negotiate every excursion... You will save at least $5-$100 for each person. We save 200$/each for whale shark trip. A lot of money! Important + Negative! Don't take HB(Half Board) or FB(Full Board) from them(Kaani), because it's totally different food between HB/FB and menu. Food from menu is tasty, but from HB/FB is very bad... And if you will take food from menu, will be cheaper! Food is not expensive in Maafushi, lunch $6 to $10. Soft drinks around $1-$2 usd. You can easy find more places with buffet or "ALL You can EAT";). Maafushi, no alcohol is prohibited. On resorts it is allowed. One bear on resort $5-$10 + tax. Snorkeling is nice in Maldives and perhaps a must do thing as well. I suggest to travel to other resorts as well, when staying on Maafushi, We went: - Rihiveli - amazing island with dolphins :) - Biyadhoo - best reef for diving/snorkelling - Fihalhoohi. The Best of these was by far the Rihiveli resort (postcard beautiful Island). Trips cost 80 to 100 usd together with lunch. We made many excursions with Venturo Hotel, it's more cheaper. And the best from Venturo: Full Day Snorkelling(50$ - lunch included), Night Fishing($25 - free barbecue that you cached )and Whale Shark Snorkelling! Amazing! Diving: Cheap & great equipment: Shark Diving School. $40/one dive with their equipment. $25 with yours :) We had a great time in Maafushi, beautiful in every way, the Maldives are.

The one you would opt for”
I traveled to Maafushi in a group of 4, and has gotten 2 rooms with Kaani Beach Hotel. The hotel offers ferry transfer from the airport itself, but we've already bought our own. Upon reaching Maafushi, we were greeted with friendly staff, with our luggage brought to the hotel in a cart. We were also served a welcome drink, cold wet towel and briefed of the different kinds of local travel packages to fill up our stay in Maafushi! Kaani Beach Hotel guests can also use the facilities in Kaani Spa Village! Although we didn't utilize it (due to rainy days every afternoon till evening), I believe it's a top notch enjoyment! Overall our stay was great!! Highly recommended hotel in Maafushi. P.S. You can look for "MJ" at the counter for any enquiries! ;)
