Terrible experience and honestly, the worst experience we have had
My husband and I arrived in Male in the evening around 9pm. I had emailed ahead of time letting the Kaani Lodge know that we would be arriving later. We arrived to the hotel at 10:30pm in the evening. It is difficult to find as it is down a small alley way. The map was correct though and with some asking around, we eventually found it. When we got to the check-in counter, they were confused why we were there. I had printed out all of my confirmations ahead of time and was able to show them the confirmation and they said, 'just wait 5-10min and we will get a room ready for you'. We waited 30min and when we asked when our room would be ready, they said, 'just 5-10min more'. Honestly, we heard lysol cans spaying all over the place for over 1.5 hours! We did not get our room until AFTER midnight! I couldn't believe it. We sat in the lobby for an hour and a half, waiting for our room. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if they would give us a discount on the room since the room was technically not ready until the next day and he laughed at my and said, 'yeah right'. When we got to our room it was disgusting. Dirty, smelled of smoke and mold and it was not an enjoyable stay at all. We ended up sleeping above the sheets as they were definitely not clean and couldn't wait to leave in the morning. There were also no windows in the room, so it was just stale. We were only there one night, waiting for our transfer to an boat. But honestly, worst experience ever in a hotel.

Central location.
Close to jetty. Room is run down. Shower didn't drain well. Dirty bedsheet. Stayed two nights but no room service to clean the room (maybe due to it's a lodge?). Towels were provided but not other toiletries. No kettle in room but staff was very friendly and helpful to provide us with hot water in a thermal. Very basic breakfast but fresh from the kitchen.

Very kind but...
Staffs are very kind and helpful but facility was too bad. The windows can be locked and wardrobe doesn't have a handle. Also fridge was not working and wifi was unstable. The breakfast was reasonable.

Do not go couple, the room is hot like hell as it's aircon is not working
Location is just easy to find from airport transfer jetty. But the cost is way too high and facilities is terrible. No amenities in room, not even a soap.
