One of the best hostels I've stayed at!”
Kaisu ranks pretty high among the list of hostels I've stayed at. I truly enjoyed the privacy despite staying in a 14-bed mixed dorm, thanks to the curtains - a thoughtful gesture. It is spacious enough for my needs, and comes with a small locker for valuables (bring your own padlock), night light and power points. Kaisu is well-maintained and extremely clean. I loved that there is a bathroom especially for the ladies, and that each shower cubicle comes equipped with a changing room space - a luxury by hostel standards. The location is also great, a short 4 minute walk to the train station that gets you to Shibuya in 15 mins or less. I also love the neighbourhood. I have no complaints and if I return to Tokyo, I will definitely stay here again. Two thumbs up!
Cosy and clean”
I loved Kaisu as it was quiet, very clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The location is 4 minutes away from Akasaka station, which is only a few stops away from Harajuku. Lots of places to eat at around the area too. Sleeping area was great, with a privacy curtain, space to put your personal belongings and hangers, but if you have a large suitcase, it might be a little cramped (I picked the 10-bed dorm). That being said, I would stay here again any time!
Home away from home ”
Kaisu is by far the best place I’ve stayed in at Tokyo. Clean and spacious place, very well-designed, that straight away gives you a welcoming feel. Very friendly & helpful staff, who gave me good recommendations and helped me when I wanted to make a change in my reservation. The shared lounge & cafe are bright and pretty and you could easily speak to other guests or enjoy some privacy, if you wish. There’s thought in every details and it’s shown that things are done out of care. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s also super well located, 4 min from the metro, and walking distance from city centre. Convenient stores are all around.
Beautiful place but dull guests”
Kaisu is really clean and nice place. It doubles as a cafe and bar where you can hang out. It is super close to the Tokyo two metro about 4-11min (ginza line would be the furthest). Nice small restaurants nearby. The only reason why I wouldn’t recommend this place is because you won’t make any friends and the guests made me uncomfortable. I don’t know how these people said they made friends but I spoke to no one while I was there. The co-ed room is pro dominantly men so as a female, they won’t talk to you and they make the bed creak. Sigh my first hostel experience and it sucked.
Another nice stay”
My second Tokyo trip staying at Kaisu. Just as nice as the first one. I am especially grateful for the staff over there. Super friendly and helpful. It’s a comfortable and convenient accommodation with an unbeatable price.
Just Book It”
Kaisu is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. For a solo traveler, this place is fantastic for the price. You get a comfortable bed with ample space to store some things, however, you do need a lock to secure your items. The shower and bathroom are both very clean, with strong water pressure and nice shower gels. There is a cafe/bar downstairs that serves excellent drinks, as a bonus: you get a slight discount for every drink as a guest. Behind is a common area where I met many other friendly guests. Definitely hang around at night or during breakfast to meet some cool people!.
Clean & cozy place to stay”
Overall, I was pretty impressed with everything esp comparing to the price. The hostel locates in walking distance to 2 metro stations: 3-4 min to Akasaka Stn. and less than 10 min to Roppongi Stn. The shower and toilet are separated and very clean. They provide toiletries. Shower rooms are opened 24 hrs. Staffs are kind and helpful. They're quite fluent in English. Complimentary breakfast serves only toasts, boiled eggs and a selection of drinks. It mightn't full your stomach but good enough for a quick meal. A bar/bistro on the 1st floor gives a cozy atmosphere. Few cautions are they don't provide towel. Choices are bring your own or rent at small price. Lightoff time in bedroom is quite early (around 10:30 PM). If you plan for a night out, you might find yourself bothering roommates. In contrary, this makes sleeping area quiet.
A home in Tokyo”
Kaisu brings the cozy environment for the travelers. When I stay in the house, I felt like having a home in Tokyo. I enjoy the details of life in Kaisu, such as the large wooden dining table in front of the yard. Besides, kaisu is located in the residential area, so it's quiet at night, good for sleep.
Nice hostel but bit expensive”
Nice hostel, clean and nice showers. The rooms and beds were ok but basic. The night before we stayed in a similar hostel (same concept) just 1 km away, which was much cheaper and more luxurious than Kaisu Hostel. However, the overal experience with Kaisu Hostel was nice and good.
Too good to imagine...”
Beyond expectations. The bed is so comfortable that I almost didn't want to get up. The hosts are welcoming and bright. The shower rooms and toilets are spacious and clean. Just hope Kaisu won't become too popular to book a bed. Thank you Kaisu
Beautiful property in a very central location!”
I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Kaisu. The property is just beautiful, well designed, homey and the staff is super friendly and supportive. Breakfast was the best I had in a hostel so far! Good toast, boiled eggs, honey, jam, fruits and a drink. Bed was really comfy! Everything was clean and well organized. The women's 10-bed dorm on the ground floor is a regular dorm. The pictures of the upstairs dorms looked more airy. The location is also great, very central and easy to get to all the important areas of town with plenty of restaurants once you step on the street.
Nice hostel with perfect location”
I was the first guest at Kai Hostel since it is brandnew and opened at the end of June. The welcome was great. The hostel was very clean. Even though I was the only guest the first days, they cleaned everyday. I tried the breakfast twice - nothing special for a hostel but something unusal for Tokyo hostels. The location is really good. It is 2mins from the next Subway station where you can take the train to Harajuku and walk from there to Shibuya within 10 mins. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and convenience stores around. Laundry places are across the street. Rappongi Hills is only 10mins by feet. Also the Ginza line, which brings you directly to Shibuya or the Fish Market is 10mins walk away. To sum it up, the location is superb for exploring Tokyo. The internet is good upstairs as well as downstairs. The shower room and the toilets are clean. Everybody has a locker next to the bed and the safety is guaranteed by having electronic combination locks at the doors. Can definitely recommend this place. If I will come back to Tokyo again, I will stay at Kai Hostel again.
Looking for a good place near center of Tokyo?”
We have a very good time at the hostel. Easy to access, only 5 mins walk from Akasaka station of Tokyo Metro, Chiyoda Line. Very nice and clean, and of course, friendly host. If I have a chance to visit Tokyo again, I'll definitely not miss to check here first!
Great hostel in a great location ”
Kaisu Hostel was one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed in. Great location close to the train station and hundreds of amazing restaurants. The staff were great and very helpful. Will definitely come back!!
Great place to stay! ”
Kaisu is located nearby the subway and with great facilities and environment. The beds are spacious and toilets clean. Fit for purpose for solo travellers
Cool vibe in well located hostel”
For me this place struck just the right vibe of cool/stylish yet keeping an eye on budget. Downstairs common bar/dining room works well for the public facing side of hostel. Upstairs we had the one private room which worked well for us. My partner longed for a private bathroom but that was not to be but the shared facilities immediately down hall more than adequate. Akaska backstreet location very well situated for treks west to Shibuya/Shinjuku or east to Tokyo/Akasuka. When leaving an I revealed it was my 50th - yup, old fart in a hostel - the staff check in guy subtly changed jazz soundtrack to a cheesy Japanese "happy birthday" tune as I sorted my last minute things for departure. Nice.
Exceptional”
Kaisu is very cosy and lovely. The place is clean, the location is really convenient to go everywhere.
Cleanest Hostel in the World?”
Complete with a good vibe, excellent decor. Breakfast is the classic hostel breakfast and could be improved with something unique, but the quality coffee included is a bonus (worth like 4$ in Tokyo). The pod beds are excellent for privacy and comfortable for sleep, however do remove some of the hostel socializing. Overall, a really great choice for a budget traveller in Tokyo
Great stay”
Accessible to the metro, 5min walk to akasaka station. Very clean and sleek hostel, friendly staff and located around lotsa convenient stores and restaurants, will definitely return.
Very good”
Location is good, if you prefer a quiet place. 5 mins walk to Akasaka Station and 15 mins walk to Roppongi Station. Bedroom and Showeroom always clean, cleaner mostly starts cleaning at 11am. Love the cafe area, good to chill if you want to stay in. The staff is very helpful especially Mr. Daniel. Great stay and experience.
