A quiet secluded place away from the crowds. fresh and cold air. suitable for those who want to find tranquility. The hotel area is very large. We have stayed here 3 times and will certainly come back again. The only thing that must be improved is the variety of food and the price of food must be more affordable since there are regulations that not allowed to bring food from outside. I hope in future the restaurant will provide more vegetables menus because kaliandra owns the eco farm and selling organic vegetables.

Room is traditional unique, and no television. If you want a quite place with fresh air and very beautifull scenery this place is best choice. So many trees and you can hear bird sound everytime. Restaurant food is delicious. They hv swimming pool but you'll be frozen to swim there. If you like to selfie, you hv many spots!

Fantastic surroundings”
We spent a night at this resort near the Mountain Arjuna. It is an Eco resort with a lot of in house activities. Nature is stunning there. The resort main building, colonial house was newly built in colonial style. Since the resort is at 800 meter altitude there is no need for airconditioning. There is also no tv in the rooms. We had room no 2, which is a room to avoid since it is closely to the main road with quiet a few motorcycles passing by. Better you go for rooms in the other wing. Food is good, staff is pleasant. We would definitely come back, but the price is a bit on the high side

One Hidden Retreat Place in Pandaan”
This place is huge & it's divided into 2 section. The newest buildings are in front area with its colonial vibrant touch. The old ones are located stretched far uphill in the back. The pool is quite small & the water is not that mountain fresh as initially expected. No TV & Wi-Fi, so just expect natural tranquility & quiet neighborhood to say the least. Breakfast is very simple. Well, if you love outdoor activities & a place for retreat, then this place might be one of your choices... Just go whenever you can, enjoy life as it is... Stay happily blessed 😊

the flies were overwhelmed in the beginning of rainy season, wiFi was great, make sure to bring a lot of mosquito repellent, the mosquitoes on the restaurant, cafe and gardens were abundant. i wonder why they didn"t serve veggie salad on breakfast since they had organic farms. breakfast menu was limited, they even don"t serve milk/creamer for your coffee. the staffs were responsive though. love the large room with very bright lamps.

Great location in the countryside of Surabaya. But the room need to be way cleaner and lots of maintenance is required. Also sad, the staff didn't introduce more activities that are offered by the hotel.

Unless you’re a total nature nuthead, the cottage/house we had were just adequate. We’re ok with bugs and lizards, but the misquote were large and really irritating! Toilet was decent, water pressure isn’t that fantastic. Breakfast at the clubhouse/restaurant was a disaster and a disappointment. Not that Indonesian food isn’t great, it’s just that the restaurant there isn’t fantastic (breakfast only haven’t tried their lunch and dinner). But still a lovely environment with full of greenery and very cooling, just that we had travelled during a terrible time when the haze was still on-going

Spa rooms are the best!”
The spa rooms are the real gem of Kaliandra! So beautiful, comfortable beds, lots of clean linen, lovingly cared for, lots of smiles and warm hospitable service. 5 stars! Award-winning! Tried the spa: good at 180,000 IDR, flying fox which they started for just 1 person at 170,000 IDR. This is what great service is about. Affordable luxury! Location-wise, the location on google maps is wrong as there is a new road that leads to the resort. Best to make prior arrangements for transport or resort to pick you up. Paid 550,000 IDR for a one-way transfer for 3 persons to Surabaya airport. Once check in, not likely you will walk out for meals as there isn't much within walking distance. Menu is small, but food is delicious and reasonably-priced. If you dine at the main restaurant - be prepared to dine with the wildlife - peacocks and cats. Since we stayed in the spa rooms, we had some meals at the Wellness centre itself. The resort also caters to large groups of people coming for educational purposes - but it was quiet on the monday we were there. If the owner's residence is available - i recommend go see it. Amazing hospitality”
Kaliandra has a beautiful arrange of flora and fauna as it is located in the mountains. They have two restaurants, and the food tastes delicious because it is all organic! They have really friendly people working here, and the family cottage we stayed at was spacious and incredibly comfortable. They have all of these wonderful activities like Javanese cooking and Batik making. As well they also have leadership programs and the people seem well aware of their history. They are also trying to be sustainable and thus they train their people to farm, and give massages. This is also a great place to go if you want to do some hiking. Unfortunately when we went it was raining, so we have to come back again in order to fully enjoy it. It is better to go with more people so that you can do more activities. This place it is located far from the city, and thus it is the perfect getaway.

Kaliandra always the best choice to spend time with family and friends. It's a perfect gateway back to nature and close to Indonesian heritage in living and in dining. There are lots of activities for kids and teen also for parents. Kaliandra also have a great plantation of organic vegies and they place them in their menus day and night. The position is near Bromo Mt. so anyone could have Bromo excursion there. For Family with kids, they could also enjoy the fun in Taman Safari Indonesia. The Safari is a must seen for holiday.

Quiet environment, nice view”
The hotel location is a bit remote, which is good if you need quiet surroundings. It has very nice garden and full of trees and green plants. There is no cafes nor restaurants outside kaliandra, but they have restaurant which sells good food with good price. The weather is pretty cold at night, make sure you bring jacket. There is no TV in every room.

Fabulous relaxing place”
The place is very relaxed with fabulous grounds, very attentive staff and excellent food. Nothing seemed too much trouble and there is extensive spa treatment. Three days is probably the optimum, length of stay but choose your accommodation carefully. The resort is only accessible by car. Prices quoted for trips from the resort were exorbitant even by european standards. With this said I can thoroughly recommend a visit to Kaliendra.

We were enjoying our 1 night stay at Kaliandra Resort hotel. enjoy their food, and enzyme therapy. ethnic room and chemicals free. not restaurant and shop around, so we will whole day in the hotel area. order some healthy food from their restaurant and we can learn how to do "batik" painting, how to make healthy drink, etc. very interesting

Wonderful and relaxing time at Kaliandra Sejati”
This hotel is quite unique. It is actually part of a development foundation which provides jobs, training and education for local people. Part of their property is given for lodging and a new spa. The bungalow was very comfortable and clean. The beds comfortable and linens / towels clean. Good supply of hot water. We enjoyed the Indonesian and Javanese meals. The restaurant staff was courteous. We walked around the grounds enjoying the natural gardens / forests and toured the organic farming projects. The Resort also offers quite a few cultural / recreational activities such as a ropes course, batik making course, and cooking lessons. There are also tours available to Bromo and of the surrounding area and mountains. Many activities which you can pay a very reasonable fee for. Since this is an education and development foundation you also share space on the large property in the daytime with some of the school children who visit for a field experience in a village setting. The school children can be a bit loud at times but they are well behaved overall. We hope to return here again with some friends. It's a great place for a small group of friends or several families.

I love everything. I stayed in its bungalow. It was really nice. I enjoyed the view, the environment, the whole concept of the resort. The staff were really nice. The owner's resident is superb, you can not enter the building though.

I love this place. It is remotely located in the forest, about 2 hours from Surabaya. It is perfect for me as I wanted to be away from the busy lifestyle. There are only a bunch of villas, so privacy is great. I like the traditional style of the architecture. Once you are inside the resort, you would not go out easily because of the remote location.
