to us...best place ever!”
We searched a while for the location to stay at in El Nido and ended up with Kalinga Beach, for it looked nice and was obviously not as expensive as other places. To admit that in the beginning, our stay was probably not the average one, for we were for four days the only guests. Therefore probably the service for us was better then average, but just listen to that: We missed our bus in Puerto Princesa, so we arrived at 1.30 am at night. The stuff from Kalinga Beach came with their tricycle anyway to pick us up. Since better rooms were availible then what we booked, they showed us around and we got to stay in the room we wanted, without paying anything extra. The view at breakfast is just breathtaking, although people who expect a sandy beach like in Boracay will be disappointed. However, if you really love Boracay...maybe El Nido is not the best choice for you anyway. :-) Okay, there are dogs runing around the resort and the linnen is changed not every day, but every third day, but come on, it's El Nido, not Paris. The resort is located north of El Nido and belongs already to a different village, so we were worried, how to get to the town. Turns out, a 10 min walk behind the hotels and you are right in El Nido. So bring a torch and an umbrella, but whatever you do...as long as you are not a snobby, rich fellow, pick this resort...it is real Filippino and that means just friendly, funny, family!

Best view in Palawan! Authentic Filipino stay ”
Kalinga offers an authentic Filipino accommodation in cottages/bungalows with the most amazing views of El Nido's many islands. The location is excellent - only about 5 minutes (by tricycle, which the resort offers a complimentary tricycle service) or 10 minutes (walking) from the center of town. Because it's away from the bustle of the awl Nido center, it's very calm, relaxing, and quiet throughout the day and night. Breakfast is included and very good for the price of the resort. Lots of food options nearby, especially Antonio's down the street. There's a local canteen across the road with snacks, drinks, and essentials (shampoo, soap, bug repellent, etc). The service was great... Alma was a great help with scheduling tours, getting bottled water, getting a tricycle, etc. Everyone at the resort, staff and fellow resort patrons, were very friendly. Setting up island hopping tours was very simple because the resort has its own tour company and boat. So you simply pick the tour you want, and get into the boat several feet away. Overall, it was an excellent stay for the price that I paid. You have to keep in mind that this resort offers authentic accommodations. Yes, there are dogs roaming around (but we're in the Philippines and anywhere you go, there will be roaming dogs). They're friendly. Sometimes the power will go out but it's across the neighborhood and town, not just the resort (again, were in the Philippines). I highly recommend this resort and I will be sure to go back and stay there the next time I'm in Palawan. Thank you for the amazing stay and experience Kalinga!

Beautiful hotel with great service”
kalinga was a great spot to spend a few days in el nido. a 15 minute walk from el nido town, it is quiet and very relaxing. the family that owns the resort are extremely friendly and helpful, including their 13 year old daughter that helps out. just some lovely people. be aware at night, the walk is relatively unlit so be sure to have a flashlight if your headed into el nido town (which i recommend for a wide variety of dinner/lunch options)

A very pleasant stay”
We were a couple looking for a nice hotel out of el nido in a calm and secluded place and we absolutely do not regret choosing Kalinga Beach Resort. It is not too far away from the town (10min by foot) but it is located in a beautiful setting with incredible sunsets. The staff is extremely nice and helpful: for example, we hadn't withdrawn enough money in Puerto Princesa and therefore did not have enough to pay the hotel. They let us pay online by booking rooms on Agoda.

Great vacay”
Kalinga Beach Resort is a great accommodation facility. Quiet place, where was a beautiful sea view. Especially the sunrise at breakfast. The resort is located near the center or restaurants. Our cottage in the garden was still kept clean. The staff was very nice, friendly, willing to help us with everything, for example when we needed to organize an island hopping or buy tickets for the ferry. We were satisfied and we would like to come back here.

Location, Location, Location!!!”
What you have to bear in mind is that Elnido is a very rural place, and as such you need to lower your expectations when it comes to some of the mod-cons that us city folk just take for granted. Firstly, it's always hot in the Philippines, to Filipinos don't see the necessity for hot water in the bathroom. Secondly, there are always dogs around, and they enjoy their communal barking and howling at night. But if you're willing to chill and relax and just go with the flow, then Kalinga Beach Resort is just the place. The accommodation is budget, but the place is kept neat and tidy. When you get there and see the view that is yours to savor every day, it's all worth it. Breakfasts are served either on the tables under the trees, basically right on the beach or on your own little porch, right outside your door (a given when it is raining). Although the resort does not offer much in the way of features and options, it gives you nature at it's best, with friendly staff always willing to assist you with tour bookings made with reliable operators and willing to go the second mile in helping with making arrangements to make your stay an enjoyable and fun-filled one!

Really nice stay”
The bast thing about Kalinga was the owner lady who organized all...she was really nice and helped us in many ways. She organized all the boat trips, motorcycle rent, van tickets to Puerto Princesa ( the best and biggest van in town) and the prices were same or even cheaper than in town! She made our stay really nice! We also liked the quiet location ( 15 minutes to walk to town) and a nice view ( the beach was not nice thoug, but there is no nice beach in el nido anyway)

Beautiful location ”
We stayed here four nights and could have stayed longer. Our comfortable wooden chalet with verandah close to the beach had amazing views over the bay to neighbouring islands and fantastic sunsets every night. The resort is in a quiet location at the far end of El Nido but close enough to walk into town. The resort has its own custom made motor bike car to take you through the narrow pathways to the main town where you can pick up another motor bike taxi. The breakfasts, which we ate outside overlooking the bay, were delicious and it was very good value for money. The manager, Alma, organised private boat trips for us which operated from virtually outside the hotel, so we just walked straight out of our chalet onto our boat! She also organised transport for us to NacPan Beach and informed us of other tours. The only downside was the cold shower!

Great place to stay ”
Kalinga Beach Resort is a family run resort with some lovely cottages and very helpful staff. Elma can organise tours and transport. The location is excellent, away from the busy down town El Nido, but close enough to walk into town. Also has a cool sea breeze. Highly recommended, Julie & Stu

Comforts of home”
The location of the resort is somewhat secluded, but it's not alone in that row as there were many other resorts there too... in fact, the walk/tricycle ride to get to the resort adds to the character of the stay. It's highly recommended to contact the resort prior to arrival in order that they can arrange for pick up at Lally & Abet's point (note that the network signal is very weak so you'll have to make sure the pick up is already arranged before arrival)... otherwise you will have to walk with your luggage in the sand for about 800m. You may contact Ms. Elma at 0950 246 5626, who by the way is such a dear and will be sure to take care of you. Their family room is spacious and comfortable; the resort is clean and well kept; and the view from the hotel frontage is also a sight to see. While it's not the modern fancy schmancy type of resort, Kalinga is a real good choice and value for money!

Amazing place to stay for more days!”
Cute resort with amazing beach wiew, clean pool, tidy rooms, nice and carefull stuff, great filipino breakfasts, not that busy area as the city center. Best place to stay for more days. You can rent a motorbike or buy all the boat trips straight at the reception. We had an amazing time at Kalinga beach resort!!!

great hotel, friendly staff”
arrived at the hotel very early but they had our room ready immediately so we could check-in at once. very accomodating and friendly staff, a no-frills resort but comfortable enough for a short stay. plus the room rates are very affordable. they only have fan rooms, but when you're in el nido, you'll be out most of the day so it wasn't a problem at all. location is kind of far as you would have to walk around 10-15 mins to get to the resort, but other than that it was nice!

Nicely located resort.”
We went to Kalinga as a couple. The resort is nicely placed outside El Nido so you can enjoy some quietness and have some fresh air. El Nido is about 10-15 min walk but they also have a shuttle service taking you there for free and bringing you back, if you a sim card to contact them. If you fly from El Nido afterwards, they provide you with a cheap transportation to the airport. I recommend to rent a motorbike from them to commute as you can pay in the end and you can avoid leaving deposits and passports to other places. The road to and from Kalinga is very nice and funny. Erner, the kind of maintenance guy plus driver and possible many other things, is super nice and kind, very respectful, polite and very helpful! He is the person any hotel should have! Elma, the owner, along with the other staff are kind and attentive. I would have expected however to see a little bit more effort from their side to make sure your stay is nice. Also, if other people are still eating or around you at the tables, I would perhaps not make so much noise while having the staff lunch. Guests are there to relax and enjoy. The place looks good, budget accommodation, right next to the sea. It is amazing to stay at breakfast and enjoy the beautiful view. The beach in front is not to stay because of the daily low-high tide. Nothing anybody can do about it. Unfortunately the wi-fi is quite bad and most of the times you will not be able to search for anything even though there is a connection, but that forces you to relax and stay away from virtuality. The water boiler sometimes works, sometimes not so well and sometimes not at all, but that is a general problems in a lot of budget places in the Philippines, so you kind of have to get used to it. It is not that bad. Breakfast is good, but I would recommend an improvement to the recipe of the pancakes. Like everywhere else in the Philippines you have one choice from the menu for the breakfast. Overall, we would come back as the price-val

Super nice staff”
The people of Kalinga are amazing. Own by a very nice filipino family. They all speak very good english and the pool is always clean! We were fortunate enough that we got invited by Rick, the owner, to his 64th birthday party with all his family at the resort as well as the rest of the guests that were staying that night. They cooked food for everyone. Rick is also very involved in the community. With the money that he makes from the resort, he’s building 27 houses for poor families and kids that are on the streets and can’t afford to have their own place to live.

Pleasant”
We stayed here on a short holiday for 3 nights, we work and live in Puerto Princesa. The cabin we stayed in was detached and lovely, very spacious and everything you need. The breakfast included was delicious. The only deal breaker was the owner's dog that would get really quite agressive if you were walking around the resort in the evening, for example going down to the sea front to sit and have a drink. This was quite scary and stopped us from walking around in the evenings. The walk back from town in the evenings is also full of pet and stray dogs, many of which are barking and howling. This made for a very unpleasant walk back from restaurants and bars in the evening. If I went back to El Nido I would stay on the main beach front which is just as beautiful.

Relaxed place at a walking distance of El Nido town”
What we loved about this place is that it was at the beach and you could have breakfast in the morning outside with an amazing view over the water. You woke up and it felt like holiday straight away. If you stay in the main area of El Nido its busy and very packed. So Kalinga Beach Resort was definitely a better option for us. You cab walk to the main area, but they can also bring you whenever you want with a small Tuktuk. The staff was very helpful. Our shower was broken though, but the water was nice and warm.

Amazing experience and treated like family!”
Beautiful gem in the heart of Caalan district in El Nido... The pros: Best customer service ever! Hostess treated us like we were family (Helped my sickness, arranged our tours, gave us tips, etc.)! The view over the ocean is simply amazing! The cons: WiFi was spotty but that’s just all of El Nido... I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot in El Nido, and it’s away from the hectic steeets!

Quaint hotel located on the bayshore. ”
We stay in a large two double bed room. The beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast could be delivered to our room so we could enjoy it on the large porch, or served at the little dining area next to the shore line. We were charged extra for getting clean linen each day. The bathroom was very tiny, with no hot water, and very little water pressure. As is par for El Nido, electricity was out for most of everyday, but the resort had a generator. However, it was used sparsely each day. I am sure that a power surge ruined the lithium batteries in two of my electronic devices, so be sure to use a voltage adaptor with a surge protector. I am not blaming the hotel, this could very well have been caused by the villages electricity provider. Wifi was rarely available in the room, but could be used at the front desk open area, of course, when there was electricity. All in all, for the price charged, this was a nice small hotel.

So much potential!”
the accommodation in el nido is fairly basic, there are so many places that have so much potential with a bit of renovation - this being one of them! our room was nice, a little old and outdated but was fine for what we needed. the service was good, nice breakfast, great balcony (we stayed upstairs).. it is beachfront but not really any beach to speak of, its about 1km walk (inaccessible by road) to el nido town (which wasnt so great walking all the way there with our bags at 9pm after a 6 hour bus trip) and its in a rocky bay so no swimming. still beautiful quiet area but a little inconvenient. we booked 3 nights but checked out early because we desparately needed air conditioning! it was cool enough in the evenings but the mornings and afternoons were still really hot - the fan didnt really help much and we never seemed to dry after our showers. everything with the resort was fine though. also, they are building new rooms so there is construction at the moment, which isnt so great being woken up at 7am with banging and drills... the new rooms might be a great place to stay when theyre finished though!

Quiet place and nice resort”
The value for money is amazing as we got some friends in different places in El Nido for the same price they didn't get swimming pool, hot water and breakfast so go for it , we will definitely come back here
