Amazing view and hospitality”
Pros: •amazing view of the sea & mountains; cool breeze location due to trees and the shade •free breakfast •free tricycle service •spacious room; hot shower •everyday housecleaning; they even dry your wet clothes Cons: •weak wifi •only 1 service so if other guests are using it, it’s either you have to wait or walk; other tricycles can’t enter the area
Don't go there”
Free Pick up was almost 2 hrs late, due to some miscomnication. It can be solved within one single telephone call, but they kept us waiting almost for 2hrs upon our arrival at the El Nido port. And refuse to answer out phone call?. Secondly, the AC in the room is as well as no AC. You can only feel the AC in the midnight. And they said that it is ok, completely fine, but they will have someone fix it and that one didn't show up. Thirdly, WiFi signal is almost 0 availability. Yes they will give you WiFi password for a? certain WiFi but I can't connect to it because sometimes it doesn't have any signal in. the room. Anyway, the price is definitely not worth it.
Staffs were amazing. ”
Its a bit far to get there by foot, good thing they have a free shuttle services provided for guest. U can book your tours with them also, no need to go to town. They have limited food so i bought seafoods from the market, they will cook it for you.
Quality adequated to the price which we paid. They offer transfer to the center so it is very good option. Room was clean. If you don’t need 4* hotel this place is good. Staff is very helpful and friendly, breakfest is ok. The only issue are dogs barking in the night next to the room every night.
Kalinga Beach Resort is a great accommodation facility. Quiet place, where was a beautiful sea view. Especially the sunrise at breakfast. The resort is located near the center or restaurants. Our cottage in the garden was still kept clean. The staff was very nice, friendly, willing to help us with everything, for example when we needed to organize an island hopping or buy tickets for the ferry. We were satisfied and we would like to come back here.
Quiet place and nice resort”
The value for money is amazing as we got some friends in different places in El Nido for the same price they didn't get swimming pool, hot water and breakfast so go for it , we will definitely come back here
Nice view, nice small pool, basic rooms, bit out of town, no restaurant, lacks hospitality”
This place needs a restaurant, because it has a great view and yet you can't get anything to eat, except for breakfast. There are only a few restaurants nearby and they are very expensive. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes and part of the path is very dark and narrow, so it's not something you want to be doing in the evening or in the heat. They offer a free tricycle service to try and overcome this problem. The family rooms by the pool are basic but decent. The upstairs villa is in an attic shape room and needs a bit more investment - the aircon doesn't work too well and we needed the shower and toilet fixed while we were there (which to their credit, the management fixed promptly). The main positive of this place is the superb view of the bay and islands plus the small pool. The three main negatives of this place is the distance from town, lack of restaurant (if somebody opened a good restaurant in this neighborhood and reasonably priced, it would draw in all the tourists f
Nicely located resort.”
We went to Kalinga as a couple. The resort is nicely placed outside El Nido so you can enjoy some quietness and have some fresh air. El Nido is about 10-15 min walk but they also have a shuttle service taking you there for free and bringing you back, if you a sim card to contact them. If you fly from El Nido afterwards, they provide you with a cheap transportation to the airport. I recommend to rent a motorbike from them to commute as you can pay in the end and you can avoid leaving deposits and passports to other places. The road to and from Kalinga is very nice and funny. Erner, the kind of maintenance guy plus driver and possible many other things, is super nice and kind, very respectful, polite and very helpful! He is the person any hotel should have! Elma, the owner, along with the other staff are kind and attentive. I would have expected however to see a little bit more effort from their side to make sure your stay is nice. Also, if other people are still eating or around you at the tables, I would perhaps not make so much noise while having the staff lunch. Guests are there to relax and enjoy. The place looks good, budget accommodation, right next to the sea. It is amazing to stay at breakfast and enjoy the beautiful view. The beach in front is not to stay because of the daily low-high tide. Nothing anybody can do about it. Unfortunately the wi-fi is quite bad and most of the times you will not be able to search for anything even though there is a connection, but that forces you to relax and stay away from virtuality. The water boiler sometimes works, sometimes not so well and sometimes not at all, but that is a general problems in a lot of budget places in the Philippines, so you kind of have to get used to it. It is not that bad. Breakfast is good, but I would recommend an improvement to the recipe of the pancakes. Like everywhere else in the Philippines you have one choice from the menu for the breakfast. Overall, we would come back as the price-val
April 2019 Review”
Our stay was awesome thanks to the help of the staff and tour guides.
Amazing experience and treated like family!”
Beautiful gem in the heart of Caalan district in El Nido... The pros: Best customer service ever! Hostess treated us like we were family (Helped my sickness, arranged our tours, gave us tips, etc.)! The view over the ocean is simply amazing! The cons: WiFi was spotty but that’s just all of El Nido... I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot in El Nido, and it’s away from the hectic steeets!
A nice retreat”
Kalinga was a pleasant surprise as i was expecting a mediocre place. You're a little way out from the main beach bars (about 15 mins walk) but, the quietness and resort feel was much appreciated.Special mention to Annie-our; go to staff member.
Beautiful hotel with great service”
kalinga was a great spot to spend a few days in el nido. a 15 minute walk from el nido town, it is quiet and very relaxing. the family that owns the resort are extremely friendly and helpful, including their 13 year old daughter that helps out. just some lovely people. be aware at night, the walk is relatively unlit so be sure to have a flashlight if your headed into el nido town (which i recommend for a wide variety of dinner/lunch options)
great hotel, friendly staff”
arrived at the hotel very early but they had our room ready immediately so we could check-in at once. very accomodating and friendly staff, a no-frills resort but comfortable enough for a short stay. plus the room rates are very affordable. they only have fan rooms, but when you're in el nido, you'll be out most of the day so it wasn't a problem at all. location is kind of far as you would have to walk around 10-15 mins to get to the resort, but other than that it was nice!
Relaxed place at a walking distance of El Nido town”
What we loved about this place is that it was at the beach and you could have breakfast in the morning outside with an amazing view over the water. You woke up and it felt like holiday straight away. If you stay in the main area of El Nido its busy and very packed. So Kalinga Beach Resort was definitely a better option for us. You cab walk to the main area, but they can also bring you whenever you want with a small Tuktuk. The staff was very helpful. Our shower was broken though, but the water was nice and warm.
Lots of ants on the bed.”
Wifi didn’t wok at all. No hot water at late night and early morning. Front desk people didn’t noticed the guest next to our room was having a crazy party...couldn’t sleep at all. They will charge you 300 pesos for pick-up and drop-off to and from the airport by tricycle. The resort is in front of the ocean but not good for swimming. Breakfast wasn’t that good...actually my son was still hungry after we finished. There is no restaurant in the resort so if you want to get something to eat you must go to town which is 15 minutes on foot or you can get a free ride by the resort tricycle. You must walk back to the resort (bring you flash light).
Nice place to relax”
It's clean, the facilities are well mantained, except for the bicycles (I hope that by now they already fixed the maintenance of the bicycle) I ran for more than 6 km away along the sea side and the landscape is stunning. Good breakfast buffet
Great Villa with beach view”
+ Awesome Pool + Nice TukTuk transfer + Nice pool + Calm area - Poor Wifi (All el Nido)
Away from crowd and perfect place to relax”
Away from crowd and perfect place to relax. The hotel have their own tricycle to send guests for free to main areas like town center, port and bus station. The owner and staffs are nice.
Comforts of home”
The location of the resort is somewhat secluded, but it's not alone in that row as there were many other resorts there too... in fact, the walk/tricycle ride to get to the resort adds to the character of the stay. It's highly recommended to contact the resort prior to arrival in order that they can arrange for pick up at Lally & Abet's point (note that the network signal is very weak so you'll have to make sure the pick up is already arranged before arrival)... otherwise you will have to walk with your luggage in the sand for about 800m. You may contact Ms. Elma at 0950 246 5626, who by the way is such a dear and will be sure to take care of you. Their family room is spacious and comfortable; the resort is clean and well kept; and the view from the hotel frontage is also a sight to see. While it's not the modern fancy schmancy type of resort, Kalinga is a real good choice and value for money!
Prom: - location is very good and near the restaurants and shopping area 10 min walk. - quiet area and away from the noise. - room was very good and clean. - staff was supper nice and helpful. - the offered us free transfer to our other hotel in elnido. Cons: - no internet coverage and was very slow.
