Nice place to stay. Very very nice owner. If Kanazawa is your destination, here is your must.”
First of all, the best thing of this guesthouse is Mr.Shuji, the owner, he is very nice guy. His service mind make me feel like stay with your friend. In additional, the room are so cute and very clean. The location of this guesthouse is very good. Easy to go to attraction around Kanazawa old town like Kanazawa Castle, Higashiyama area which have a lot of traditional shop and nice cafe. From deep of my heart, I recommend Kanazawa Guesthouse Stella for all of you who would like to explore the real Kanazawa.

A five-star hotel in the guise of a guesthouse”
This place is should be your first and only consideration when staying at Kanazawa. We were there for only a night but after staying here, we wished we stayed longer. It’s an easily accessible place from Kanazawa Station that’s also near the gold leaf museum and the old geisha district. The host, Shijo-san, is very responsive and will attempt to accommodate your needs well before you arrive there. Upon arriving, he pointed us towards a few points of interests and how to get there. The room had space for three adults so we could easily cram in with our three young kids. What made the room great was that ours came with a sink too! No need to shuffle shivering to wash up on a winter’s morning. Facilities are in great shape and definitely well taken care of – shared toilets smelled fresh and haven’t got a spot of mold in them. The living room looked really comfy but we didn’t have time to enjoy them. You won’t need to bring too much clothing with you here as they have washers and dryers. All in all, a super great place for families.

Good Location and very kind owner!”
We had a pleasant stay here. I booked the double room, it’s small but can fit for 2 medium luggages. Place is clean. Location is near the higashi chaya district. The owner is so kind! He told us many nice local food recommendations and places to see. He even gave you a tour map! He is very nice, helpful and can speaks English.

Great hospitalities”
We highly recommended Stella guesthouse for anyone coming to Kanawaza for a visit, Shuji-San was a gracious host and he had the map circles with things to do there and made sure we were comfortable and whatever we need for our family. It was very short walk to the Higashi Chaya-district and accessible by bus to nearby excursions. Thank you again and we will be back.

Exceptional ”
Stella guesthouse is located at strategic location! Though it far from Kanazawa stn, but Shuji-san (the owner) is so kind enough to pick us up at the stn. Not even that! He also sent us to the stn on the day we check out! Which is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻! He even help us to book for our bus to Shirakawago! The guesthouse is close to bus-stop for Kanazawa loop bus. L11 (left loop) is even closer to R4 (right loop). Furthermore Shuji place is pretty close to Chaya District so we just walk there from the guesthouse. I totally recommend this place!

Great experience”
The owner, Shuji-san was really nice and thoughtful. He showed us where to go within the city and recommended some delicious restaurants. Definitely recommended. The place is 100% clean and comfortable and has all the facilities needed. The best place we stayed during our trip to Japan.

Family Away from Home”
This guesthouse is a quaint place where you will feel like you're part of the household. Upon arrival, Shuji/Suji-san gave us a map of Kanazawa and provided extensive details on where to go and the best restaurants in the area. We didn't even had to ask him for help or information. I also appreciated it that he volunteered to drive us to the bus station twice, which I think is part of the charms of staying in a guesthouse. Some things that possible guests should keep in mind are the following: 1. There is no elevator to the rooms, but I reckon carrying your luggage one floor up will not really be a hassle. 2. There are only two shower rooms, which can be a problem if you are in a tight schedule. Or you can just get up a bit earlier to avoid this problem.

Fantastic little place in Higashi Chaya”
On arrival the owner allowed us to choose our room as there were a couple available. Lovely clean guesthouse, with a very cosy common room. Within walking distance of plenty of sights, and located in the Higashi Chaya district which is so quaint. We were recommended a local izakaya by the owner which was fabulous. The owner is a lovely guy and even drove us to the station on the morning of our departure.

Nice experience”
The place is located nearby the tourist attractions and places for eating. The owner is very informative and suggested few places to stroll and nice foods like fluffy pancake, noodle by the river (Shoyu ramen). The owner even gave us a ride to station in early morning so we didn't miss our bus to Shirakawago. Overall a nice stay we had and recommended.

Idea place for short stay”
Room is small, but clean. Can hear coughing from nextdoor, it's normal as you are in Japan. Host looks serious, but he helped us carried our luggage to 1sr floor without saying anything.

Excellent stay experience”
The house is very cozy and comfortable, clean and nice place to stay. The owner is very kind, he will pick you up or just drop you in the station by request. He is also very friendly, helpful and a very nice person. He has many information related to Kanazawa city so that the guests who stay in his place can easily get all the information they need to know. I only stay for 1 night, I don't have the chance to explore Kanazawa city because I only go to Shirakawago for light up event. One day if I'm back to Kanazawa, I will surely find and back again to Stella guesthouse. Thank you!

Probably the best guest house in Kanazawa”
The owner of the guest house, Mr Urasaki himself is the only staff I guess. He welcome us warmly when we arrive at his guesthouse, he helped us to carry our luggages and guide us to our room. Also, he explain things to do around the guesthouse’s area and he even ask me what’s my plan in Kanazawa and gave me some advice on my plan. The next day, he fetched us to Kanazawa Bus Terminal instead of letting us taking a JR bus back to the terminal with heavy luggages. Will plan to have more stay with the guesthouse on my next Kanazawa trip!

On our last night Shuuji organised a sushi night for all the guests and it was incredible. We wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back. Highly recommend Guesthouse Stella!

Extremely friendly and helpful host”
The Stella hostel was at a very convenient location in Kanazawa. 5 min walk to the famed tea house district and less than 15 min to the Kanazawa castle and garden. Most importantly, the host/owner Shuji san was so accommodating and helpful. He provided us with so many detailed info about Kanazawa, which made our exploration so much easier and fun. Thanks again for a great stay!

Great, especially for women”
We stayed here for two nights in October and had a wonderful time. Urasaki-san was very pleasant and accommodating. His English is excellent and he was very helpful with suggestions and directions. GH Stella is located conveniently very close to stops for the Left Loop and Right Loop bus stops and only a 10 minute walk to Omicho fish market, Meitetsu and many eating eating spots. He city is actually quite small and one can walk most of it if you have time. The only drawback is the castle right in the middle. We easily walked back to GH Stella from the castle one evening and to Kanazawa Station . Our room was extremely tight! I think we had the smallest room, it was about 5ft by 8ft with a bunk bed in the room. The whole guest house and each room were immaculate. There was barely enough room to place our two 22 inch suitcases in and for us to stand. Fortunately we're not a large couple so we both slept on the top bunk and we're able to place and open our suitcases on the empty bottom bunk. There are 3 toilets and 3 showers 2 of each which are dedicated solely to women.

Shuji-san is very warm and welcoming. He's also veryyyyy helpful. Location was great. Strategically located on Higashi-Chaya district neighborhood. You can take a bus from Kanazawa-eki then walk a little to go to this guest house. Rooms, toilets, and kitchen were clean and well equipped. Shuji-san also provided a roasted green tea as a bonus! I'd definitely pick this guesthouse if I go to Kanazawa.

Lovely and homely guesthouse”
Although the guesthouse osnabi far from the station it can be easily reached by bus (free if you hold a JR pass) and it's close to the best attractions of Kanazawa. The owner of the guesthouse lives there and he's a very friendly, kind and helpful person. I'll definitely stay there again of I ever come back too Kanazawa.
