Perfect Traditional Osaka Stay”
We stayed at Kaneyoshi Ryokan for 4 nights and loved it. This hotel gave us the traditional, immersive experience we hoped for in Japan! The traditional rooms with tatami mats were a lot more comfortable than I expected. Included with the daily room cleaning is a thermos of hot water and cookies to have with the provided tea set and green tea. The public baths in the hotel were very nice, although they don't allow tattoos. (There is a lush within walking distance if you want to buy something to use in the bathtub) You can't beat the location! It is just a block away from dotonburi and several other markets. The owners are incredibly nice and we had no issues communicating. Also, make a reservation for the breakfast at least once! It was a very cool experience and the Japanese breakfast food was pretty good!

In The Middle of DOTONBORI”
Location: YES YES YES!! It is situated next to the river of Dotonbori. Super close to food, shopping, arcades and sight seeing. Its not in OSAKA CBD but it is good enough.

Amazing location in the heart of Osaka”
My stay was excellent. It was definitely helped by the great staff at Ryokan Kaneyoshi. Ideas on what to see, how to get there & how to save money with different transport options (train vs cabs). It was great. Kaneyoshi is in the heart of the action with most things a short walk away. It's a great spot to explore, shop & enjoy Osaka... & surprisingly cheap. It is a ryokan though so the rooms are basic, but that was what I wanted to experience. It was perfect for my 3 days!

Great Experience and lovely people”
Really cant fault this place for a great experience of real Japanese style Ryokan. Like anything else, first of all it is the people that make this place great. I arrived late afternoon and was checked in by a lovely lady (who spoke a fair bit of English, which is always appreciated) and showed me to my room and explained things (like taking your shoes off etc). Room itself was great, quite large by Japanese standards, and of course basic!.. that's the idea with a ryokan.. Although it had a bathroom (not many rooms come with an on-suite as such, you share a common bathroom, for a really basic experience which I wasn't willing to lol), and my room had the added advantage of a balcony overlooking the canal, lovely to have the green tea which the lady had kindly provided waiting for my arrival. The famous Dotonbori is just the other side of the canal, and its a must to visit, especially in the evening. You really couldn't wish for a better location to explore Osaka. Don't expect a lot of comfort but it is very clean, there's air conditioning, a safe, towels, and even a kimono for you to dress up in and take some pix. I found the experience of sleeping on the mattress on the floor (after putting two mattresses on top of each other, cheating?) not bad at all. Some reviewers have complained about noise but i cant say i was bothered. Probably dead tired after all the walking in the day. On the day I left I was given some very good advice about how to get to Kyoto by the gentleman who I'm guessing is the husband of the lady, he also speaks a very good level of English and couldn't do enough for me. Definitely a fantastic experience, and would go back again.

Excellent ryokan in Osaka”
This ryokan is an oasis of calm in the bustling Dontonbori area of Osaka. It’s location is excellent and is near many restaurants and shops. The staff was so helpful to us often anticipating information we would need for our outings and travels and having it printed out before we even asked. Our traditional tatami mat room overlooking the canal was a generous size for three people with an additional side room. There was plenty of soace to open and store our bags. Futons were comfortable. The staff brought us insulated pitchers of ice water and hot water each day plus cookies, teabags, fresh yukatas to wear and towels. The traditional Japanese breakfast that came with our room was wonderful as was the staff who served it. We would definitely stay here again!

Older Ryokan but great for families”
My children have a habit of falling off the beds when they sleep and this ryokan solved the problem. The staff was very friendly and rooms were cleaned every day. Pitchers of ice tea and water were provided daily. The location is directly on Dotonbori so the train station, Kumon market were are within 5 minutes walking. My children loved the ryokan and spent a lot of time playing and it could be loud. We never received a complaint so the walls in this ryokan must be quite thick unlike most other ryokans. It is an older ryokan so I gave 4/5 stars but it is very clean and livable.

Friendly and helpful staff, great location!”
Stayed with mum (senior citizen) and sister. Our first time staying in a ryokan, so we didn't quite know what to expect, but owners were helpful and friendly Gave us lots of brochures and information on Osaka and places to go (when we checked in). check in was also allowed even though we reached early. Room was big enough for 3 of us Loved the fact that there were shouji doors separating the sleeping area from the balcony area from the entrance. Owner went to get detergent for me when I didn't have any for washing my clothes in the coin laundry nearby. Sister also enjoyed the public bath. Really loved the location cos it was so near to Dotombori. Easy to find too. Wifi is only available in the lobby area though Thanks for the souvenirs! Worthwhile to stay for more than one night. Pity I've only managed to do booking for one night.

this ryokan is right where the action is. shinsaibashi is a bit seedy but very lively and we always felt safe. parts of the ryokan are a little tired/dated but it is great value for money. staff went out of their way to research and print maps for our planned activities while we were out at dinner! recommend

We very much enjoyed our stay at Kaneyoshi. It was very convenient, lovely position on river, quiet despite being in busy strip. Soothing bath. Sweet staff. Excellent clean & comfortable rooms. Nothing bad to say.

Personalized service in clean, well-located hotel”
We stayed here for four nights with our two young children (ages 1.5 and 4). The location is excellent--it's within easy walking distance of the subway, and there's an excellent udon place down the street. The rooms are older, but that just makes them all the more charming. They are very comfortable and extremely clean. We stayed in a tatami room, which was great for the kids to play in--and excellent for sleeping. What truly set this place apart, however, was the excellent service. The gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond by looking up information for possible activities for us. He also made sure our departure would go smoothly by writing out possible bus schedules to the airport. Finally, he closed the public bath for 30 minutes each evening, so that we could take a bath as a family. This was a special treat for all of us on chilly Osaka days. This hotel is in a busy nightlife area, but it was very quiet--and there are nice view of the river. We highly recommend it.

Good Japanese traditional room”
It was our first time staying in Ryokan-styled hotel. It is impressive; we like a traditional room so much. Staffs are friendly and speak fair English. The location is great, which we can walk to Namba/Shimshaibashi areas (where Glico man is running there!).

Good service”
Most memorable part is that the receptionist asked for my planning on the next day, then when we returned to the hotel at night, he planned the optimal way to save us the time and cost for the coming day! Nevertheless, it is located at the center of the Osaka, I highly recommend this place if you aim to go shopping and love to eat a lot of good Japanese food!

Besides, the hotel is close to Shinsaibashi and Namba, great food is everywhere and cheap! Room space is much larger than expected. we can also check in at 12noon. Highly recommedated!

Good first Ryokan experience”
It was a good first experience staying in a Ryokan. The service was good and the room was everything I expected. Only thing lacking is a water kettle in the room for hot water and the toilet had a stale smell. Nothing a good 2 hours of ventilation couldn't solve.

Staff provided helpful advises for our itineries and speaks English. Room was cosy with comfortable futon but the pillow was too hard for me. Ryokan is only a bridge across river to food street, and tax free super market which has packing/delivery service. Kuromon market was about 10 min walk, Namba station about 15 min walk.

Great Stay”
We stayed here for our two nights in Osaka and it was amazing! Our first Japanese style room and it was huge. We had a beautiful view of the river and everything we could need was nearby. There is a convenient bus straight to the Airport at the nearest intersection. The walk to the trains is fun since there is so much to see. Out of the four places we stayed at in Japan, this one was my second favorite. Great place to start your trip.

1. Very close to the main street and subway station. 2. Breakfast is excellent! 3. Room space is big enough to open two 28" luggage. 4. It's very nice to have drink vending machine on the floor. 5. Plenty of travel guide book provided while check in. 6. The room is with a nice in-room balcony, can have a tea with the river view. 7. All the people in the hotel is very polite and friendly. 8. Will stay here again for next visit in the future!
